701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [Pool] Coinotron up and running on: March 14, 2013, 01:29:10 PM
FYI

There are still some not withdrawn coins in pool's NVC wallet.
Please withdraw them before Mar 15, 2013

are you not able to do a database wide change of users withdrawl limit to 1 and then just allow the auto payment system to handle it?

What if they didn't specify payout address or it is not actual ?
The only safe way is to wait for user action.

Best effort Smiley

Good point - but Terracoin and PPCoin are the new ixcoin / Devcoin (http://www.coinchoose.com).  However, I think it would be nice to provide programmatic functionality outside of the pool web-site just in case any site has calculations on the most profitable coin to mine that also may be accessed via an API  Smiley

API to change worker coin. It is a shame, I didn't think of it.

You know what would be nice?  An API to be able to switch the coin that is being mined (provided all scrypt or all SHA-256 based on the client miner config).  Wink

1.5 yrs ago there was even special worker at Coinotron which was automatically switching your miners to most profitable coin to mine. All coins (ixc, i0c, nmc, btc) were SHA-256 based. But I removed this functionality as popularity of ixc and i0c decreased and colidcoin and litecoin emerged.
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: One miner on terracoins have 51%+ power on: March 12, 2013, 08:23:04 PM
One miner on terracoins have 51%+ power

As of now, global hash rate is 51.4270GH/s
One miner, on Coinotron is hashing at a rate of 45.813GH/s

Is it bad?  Probably he's not malicious, but he could if he wanted...

Edit: Ah, he just left!

Actually his max hashrate was ca. 130 GH Smiley

I have 7,5 LTC stuck at "unconfirmed" , 20 hours left and still unconfirmed.

Thanks for an information.

Those are RBPPS credits calculated for invalid blocks. Sometimes they are not deleted when block is invalid. It is annoying but not dangerous bug. And it is really hard to pinpoint its source.

Fixed.

FYI

I increased share difficulty in Stratum TRC and LTC pools.

Current values:
BTC: 1
TRC: 4
LTC: 32

Coinotron = 0.7 ( stratum and getwork )
709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [Pool] Coinotron - please withdraw NVC coins until Mar 15, 2013 on: March 11, 2013, 08:36:27 PM
Just send the X-Stratum header ? I've been doing it on the pool since the start and 65% of the hashrate is on stratum. Basically everyone using a miner that supports stratum (cgminer) will use stratum. Sure, people using a cpuminer or reaper could use the proxy ... but if they don't mind the stales, i don't care that much about it.

Good idea.

65% of LTC miners are mining at Stratum pool.

Here is why:

Stratum LTC efficiency = 99.5%
Getwork LTC efficiency = 97.7%

If you want to switch to stratum LTC, please use latest cgminer.

712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [Pool] Coinotron - please withdraw NVC coins until Mar 15, 2013 on: March 10, 2013, 07:31:29 PM
but you will loose all cpu miners and some gpu miners who do not wan't to do software updates untill the last possible moment - some might find swiching to another pool easier than learn about, search, download and configure new software.
In the theory it's true, but the facts suggests otherwise. Our hash rate after getwork removal is equal to hash rate before this. Because benefits of stratum are obvious for all.

Someone will always use the deprecated protocol, while there is a possibility. Many simply due to ignorance or laziness. Thus, the correct policy - to announce the deadline, after which simply remove support for legacy protocols. All will benefit from this, because it will make services and mining software more reliable.

But I'm agree with you, everyone decides for himself what to do. Smiley

Currently I'm just encouraging people to switch to Stratum, but your math is correct Smiley

50% of LTC miners use Stratum pool !
714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [100 GH] (2% DGM) - COINOTRON pool - STRATUM in BTC pool ! on: March 10, 2013, 09:31:52 AM
I don't know if this belongs here or not. But is there a way to find out how many blocks I've solved on any of the coinotron pools? Also is there a way to see how many confirms are left on blocks that go past the 20 that are displayed? Thanks.

This data is of course available from database but it isn't presented on the website.

How do I see whats on the database then?
Only operator has access to db. If you want I can provide you with a list of blocks solved by you.

If you are mining BTC, TRC or LTC at Coinotron it is better to use Stratum. Current stats of stales look like this:

        Stratum  Getwork
TRC     1.2%      2.5%
LTC     0.2%       1.6%
BTC     0.05%     1.3%
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinotron troubles on: March 08, 2013, 09:26:12 AM
Even weird reject errors while on stratum

update cgminer, 2.10.4 , 2.10.5 and 2.11 all provide  a lot of stratum tuning, your's is very outdated.

there will be some rejects or ocasional reconects, until ddos stopes. still most efficient pool for me.

I have checked out your miner's stratum stats. You have delivered 235 shares + 5 stales. That makes 2.1% stales rate.

If you are mining BTC, TRC or LTC at Coinotron it is better to use Stratum. Current stats of stales look like this:
        Stratum  Getwork
TRC     1.2%      2.5%
LTC     0.2%       1.6%
BTC     0.05%     1.3%

To be honest they are not much different than stats on previous server.
I was informed by koddos.com support that there were few small attacks on our new server.
That might cause temporary connection problems for some miners.

Thanks for doing the favicon  Wink

I did it 3 weeks ago, just before attack.
Maybe someone didn't like it ? Wink
