New exchange Cryptilla trading CGB along with 7 other coins. The site looks nice. Anyone familiar?

I emailed about CGB to added to Crypto-Trade, they have just finished a complete upgrade/makeover after 1 year of operation and the new CryptoTrade v2 is looking fantastic.

Got a reply and they said CGB will be added to their new voting page. Only 2 coins so far to vote on and I think they are just there so it wasnt empty Cheesy.

One HUGE benefit with CT is that verification is neither asked for or required for users to trade FIAT, so if enough support could be found a potential CGB/USD could be added in addition to a CGB/BTC (they already offer BC/USD, LTC/USD, CINNI/USD to name a few).

They also have a commission free voucher system that allows creation of a voucher code instead of withdrawing to address.  eg: i can "withdraw" to generated code 2 CGB, give that code to someone, later on they can redeem the full value of the code I made for them to their CT account instantly.

Some other features of CryptoTrade are its messaging system, Securities/Investment platform, and an API.  Smiley

Winning altcoin gets added next week I believe, so CGB has a great chance right now to be added on established exchange with some great features and benefits not found elsewhere.

Looks like voting has opened for CGB! Next coin to be added will be Aug 3rd. Let's get voting!!! You need 3 trades to vote and then can vote once every hour https://crypto-trade.com/voting

Thanks digit! I have not used Crypto-Trade, but your recommendation speaks volumes. Please let us know when voting for CGB opens and we will rally to make this happen.
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CGB Weekly Core Team - Update Thread on: July 18, 2014, 04:45:51 PM
Forgot to mention this so I'll just post it here!

CGB Reaches PoW Baseline Target (after 1 year)!
Low 2%/yr monetary base expansion now locked in.

Please also see the Reddit post for further discussion.

CGB has recently hit its baseline inflation target, completing its ~1 Year PoW mining schedule!

  • Approximately 15 CGB are mined per day!
  • Currently about 955K CGB exist!
  • Every year we add 5500 CGB (PoW) and an additional maximum of 15000 CGB (PoS).

We would like to add and organize more of the above, as well as collect a list of all coins that have reached their baseline goal! I will start with the only ones that I recall at the moment.

  • Quark (6MO)
  • BlackCoin (1WK)

Please add to the list!

CGB Core Team Weekly Update - July 18, 2014

Please also see the Reddit post for further discussion.

Greetings to all! This is going to be a little different than our usual updates. As we have previously conveyed, these updates contain anything that we feel is important to the success of CGB, in addition to Core Team developments. You may also expect them to be slightly more brief, and possibly more interactive.

To begin, we are ecstatic to welcome Raizor to the Core Team as a software developer. Since he offered his talents via Reddit, our team has been uplifted by his contributions. He was personally responsible for fixing the bug which brought our Comkort market offline, and has continued become familiar with, and improve the CGB wallet client software. We have been discussing many potential client features, a development workshop has been created to encourage community participation.

Some of our previous efforts continue to bring reward with some additional publicity related to the release of the July issue of the CryptoBiz Magazine. We have also been very active with the creation of Development Workshops for both CGB and the CryptoTown project. They are a persistent (linked on the website or sidebar) discussion intended to capture and develop ideas. Consider dropping a quick mention of your best idea on any of the following recently established workshops:

The following is the introductory paragraph to the Consultancy Culture and the Universal Perspective workshop. It's designed to be made into an infographic, with condensed points. The other three paragraphs provide some fundamental justification for the adoption of cryptocurrency and the CryptoTown project.

Quote
The universal perspective. ■ In pursuit of fundamentally objective discussion. ■ With a focus on transcendent thought. ■ The right question is more important than the right answer. ■ Always account for natural forces. ie. Reality. ■ Nothing can be truly classified, everything is unique. ■ Identify the variables, discuss effects of their potential values. ■ Monocultures and other extremes tend to be unstable. ■ Favor swings like a pendulum over time between perceived dualities.

Discussion is appreciated!

The CGB Core Team

Good news teaser...
We have come to an agreement with another developer who shares our values and goals and they have agreed to join the CGB Core Team! This really is an exceptional, mutual fit. So expect the development train to resume and once Tash is back in commission... Look out! Let's just say all pieces are falling into place Smiley

Formal announcement to come soon...

Opened and tried to sync my CGB-wallet for the first time in months.

"Warning: checkpoint is to old. wait for blockchain to download or notify developers"

It's been open for over a week now, so the blockchain should be downloaded, however it does not seem to be loading. Solutions?

Check your version, perhaps update:
Latest version is 1.1.6.7 (released April 8, 2014)

Or wait for tech advice here:)

Correct, please download the newer version of the client.

Ladies and gentlemen, the baseline PoW subsidy reward of .01 has now been reached. CGB is now officially at a maximum inflationary rate of 2% with just over 950,000 bullion in circulation. Time again for CGB to trail-blaze through uncharted territory. This will be fun!

Quote
CGB was one of the first PoS coins, one of the first to implement the accelerated subsidy halving, one of the first to move to PoS as a higher payout than PoW. All coins (even Bitcoin) will at some point in their life cycle come to a cross road where they have to either move away from appeasing miners or change their code and word to their earlier adopters. We are just a trend setter here again. CGB has, and in my opinion should continue to logically envision the path ahead and move proactively rather than in a reactionary manner.
732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoBiz Magazine Cover! | Cryptogenic Bullion | CGB on: July 13, 2014, 02:23:19 PM
From what I gather, the developers are saying the annual inflation won't be affected. But the frequency that your coins are eligible for stake would be increased.

Your coins could be staked every week instead of every month and you would receive 1/4 of the interest that the current monthly staking would give without any change to the annual inflation for POS overall

Or maybe I'm reading this wrong  Huh

This is exactly correct.

Quote
Giving away the percentage of interest that could have been given to holders not minting, to holders that mint more often IMO is not a good idea.  As well as increasing the coin supply no matter if only a few are staking, and rewarding those further for doing so, but penalising those that hold their coins in paper wallets or in idle wallets for maybe months/years at a time, by continually increasing the supply and decreasing the value of their stored and unstaked coins does not speak to me as a fair approach.

Lesser stake age with no increase of inflation is maybe the option I would go for.

I do a lot of reading on here but rarely put my view forward, but as a holder of CGB I thought it necessary I comment as any change would inevitably effect my investment.

Thank you very much for your contribution! Your point of view is a valid one that absolutely needs to be considered. What are your thoughts regarding these unstaked funds going to the foundation fund for development and advertising as BTCat suggested?
733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoBiz Magazine Cover! | Cryptogenic Bullion | CGB on: July 13, 2014, 02:09:42 PM

... as long as we stay true to our established inflationary profile.

Does this mean you are also in favor of paying out the not-minted coins to people that do mint or what is your idea about this? You can look at it from CGB as a whole, all the total coins inflation or a more individual look inflation per coin where some coins do have 1.5% inflation and other coins do not.

Although I do think not-minted coins should not be created an alternative is to gather these for development, marketing, promo's etc. that can help all if spend correct. Just an idea.

I do like the idea very much as it keeps us in the inflationary profile while encouraging CGB owners to secure the network. Your idea of using this unclaimed excess for development projects is very intriguing as well and is something we should by all means look into. Very good idea BTCat!
734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoBiz Magazine Cover! | Cryptogenic Bullion | CGB on: July 13, 2014, 12:49:38 PM
Question:
"The next client rebalances the minimum times to 1 week (1.2%) and 30 days (1.5%)"
Does this mean people then would receive 3 x more coins from stake since the original setting is 1.5% per 90 days?
Can coins stake more than once throughout a year because to my knowledge 1.5% is always communicated to be per year max.
And last, what if a person let's his coins mint and then sends it to another wallet, will it mint again in the 90 days period? Then someone could just earn 4 x stake per year which is more than 6% per year. At settings per 30 days a person could mint 12 x per year which is over 20%.

I'm sure I do not understand all about the proces but please try explain how this results. Thanks vm.

The 1.2-1.5% is per year, meaning in the current setup if you stake your coins every 30 days for a year you will earn approximately 1.2% interest. If you stake every 90 days for a year, then you will earn closer to 1.5% interest.

One of the goals with the new client is to create more PoS blocks and further enhance security. To encourage this, we are looking at a minimum coin age of 7 days for staking. More to come on this but please keep throwing your ideas in the ring! We are still ironing out the details and are certainly open minded as long as we stay true to our established inflationary profile.
735  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [FREE] Have a Cryptocurrency Buisness/Venture? I will write Article for you! on: July 12, 2014, 09:48:50 AM

Are you the developer/founder of CGB? I would be interested in talking to a coin developer, very rarely I do. I believe I have written an article about CGB the coin itself, but talking to someone directly behind it, no.

I'm not a dev but I help promote CGB. The proper person to talk with is Elambert, the founder. I'm sure he likes to talk with you about this.

Hello mtwelve! I would be honored to discuss CGB with you for an article. Please let me know how you would like to proceed. Great work so far, keep it up!

Please read. Good payment provider to research for CGB and to get involved:

txtCOINSnow offers a simple way for merchants and nontechnical users to accept, trade and safely buy products and services using crypto-currencies. The system automatically calculates local currencies from the various types of crypto-coins in your account based on current exchange rates and coin values.

http://info.txtcoinsnow.com/

Sounds a lot like MPesa for crypto. There is a BitPesa but that just focuses on Bitcoin. This seems like the same thing targeting the alt coin market. I am all for ease of use and think this will be a critical space in allowing for mass adoption. Good find!

Hi Elambert, PSD, Nice article in the magazine! I'm wondering whats next regarding CGB marketing and how are the replies doing on your extra dev request?

Hello menno!
Glad you liked the article, PSD did a phenomenal job with it and dedicated a lot of time to putting it together. We are all very proud of the outcome! The article is stage one in our new marketing campaign - more to come soon. Regarding dev assistance, we have had some interest and are moving forward. More on this will be revealed as soon as possible. Stay tuned my friend!

CGB Core Team Weekly Update - July 8, 2014

Please also see the Reddit post for further discussion.

This post has been put off in favor of some important events which have recently taken place for CGB.  First and foremost, we celebrated CGB's first birthday on the 27th. A fundraising event was held to help pay for a media promotion as part of the marketing strategies of both CGB, and the CryptoTown project. It was a great success with 2 BTC and over 5000 CGB raised and we would like to thank the community for coming together to make this happen (and bahamapascal for doubling donations!). The fruits of this effort have already begun to arrive with an article placed in the CryptoBiz Magazine. They really appreciated the content, and the potential of what we are doing and, in an unexpected surprise, made us the cover story! The funds raised have also paid for some future promotion which we will produce within a month's time as part of an ongoing campaign.

The CryptoTown On The Ground project has been receiving a lot of attention as we refine and better explain it. We are trying to maintain a separation of CGB and CryptoTown to create an example of how other cryptocommunities can help out. I want to quickly explain what we are giving to and getting from the CryptoTown project. The project was created out of necessity for CGB. We have left behind PoW mining as a primary focus and have therefore lost the majority of the attention. This is a question that any coin community can ask: If our mining profitability drops too low, where will the demand come from? The answer is that it should come from adoption into its intended role. Adoption of crypto is a goal of CryptoTown On The Ground.

It should be noted, that just because the CGB Core Team and community have made great contributions to the CryptoTown project, it does not mean that CryptoMalls will advocate for CGB, nor that businesses will end up accepting or storing it. What makes that happen is our continued dedication to making CGB a currency that is easy to use and which has a suite of tools and services available for the use cases we encounter in the project. This is adoption. This is breaking it down into the actual task.

Through the CryptoTown On The Ground project we will be able to open contact between adoption projects (including CryptoMalls), and our support network of consultants and developers. We hope that common goals will enable collaboration amongst cryptocoin communities. Another bonus is recognition in social media via official CryptoTown channels. These benefits are not only available to CGB, but also to any cryptocoin community that wishes to show a strong commitment.

Speaking of collaboration, we would like to put out another request for developers. With our lead developer currently in a semi-inactive state, our Core Team is unable to produce our next client version in a timely manner. If any readers know of a software developer who might fit the bill, let us know! We are able to offer thanks in the form of monetary compensation (CGB).  I will also note here, that there are many other opportunities amongst CGB and CryptoTown for software development.

A special thanks to our consultancy crowd hanging out at our CGB Topic on Bitcointalk. Some excellent, excellent quality discussion has been shared by many especially in the past few weeks. A distinguished mention for BTCat, with outstanding activity and quality. Our community is highly appreciated!

The CGB Core Team
