You need to change one unitīs IP adress, otherwise there is an ip-address conflict on your network (2 units cant be using the same IP).

Just change one IP to xxx.xxx.x.98 and the other one should work fine on .99

any update wrt august shipping?

August batch 1 starts shipping this week.

any details as to how many august batch 1 rigs were sold?

Maybe about half of the August production?

They have stated previously that August production will pretty much continue through August, so yeah, the ~1000 units will be shipped starting next week. (and shipping every day during August).
723  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITCRANE ANNOUNCES BEST IN CLASS BITCOIN MINER T-110 on: August 10, 2014, 05:13:39 AM
1W/GH shold be priced below 1$/GH.

I bought some Antminers and I got below 1$/GH, including PSUs.

Ants also have a 20% better efficiency.

Not only is BitCrane a bit late to the party, but their pricing is way off, especially considering they bought the awfully cheap hashfast chip.

You can get the quoted temperature in bitcoin mining facilities easily by using evaporative cooling and/or building them where it makes sense (aka Iceland, WA state, virtually anywhere in Canada, Sweden....).

I am just saying, those are the usual temperatures and it woul be only fair to quote power consumption at that temp.
726  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive XBTec Pacific 1250 Setup [HD] on: August 09, 2014, 07:45:21 PM
Obviously I wouldnīt suggest anyone builds a datacenter without ventilation.

It was merely meant as an example that the miners should be fine on max fan settings, if there are (temporary) cooling problems at the hosting site.
727  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: XBTec Announce. New ASIC manufacturer. on: August 09, 2014, 07:39:48 PM
Do we get discount if we buy 5 units?
I am very sure you will, especially as this is China and there is always room to negotiate.
728  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive XBTec Pacific 1250 Setup [HD] on: August 09, 2014, 07:15:47 PM
Well, it is good to see a unit which is properly optimised for free air cooling, even in the toughest environments.

They have a very solid cooling design, I find that most professionally built units from China are built with demanding climates in mind, as their hot and humid summers put a lot of pressure on miners.

Basically, the unit should still run fine on max fans even if your datacenter ventilation completely fails, which is a nice feature.
Dynamic fan adjustment would obviously have been better, but this option should also do the trick nicely.
729  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: XBTec Announce. New ASIC manufacturer. on: August 09, 2014, 06:59:05 PM
Actually, datacenter cold aisle temperatures are typically between 20-27°C.

It would be only fair to quote hashrate and efficiency at these values, everything above 30°C might be bitcoin-mining specific, but not datacenter standard.

With improved PCBs and slower clocking chips, I am sure the target power efficiency of ~0.8W/GH can be reached.

However, you could probably build an S4 with 0.6W/GH with this level of optimisation, so why use the AM chips?
730  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive XBTec Pacific 1250 Setup [HD] on: August 09, 2014, 06:49:37 PM
Ah okay, so you are basically stress-testing the unit.
The quoted 45°C temperature might presume that you would use the 5000rpm fan mode though Wink

Are you planning on testing the overclockability tomorrow?
731  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 09, 2014, 06:37:11 PM

wow, this is excellent, i hope that it will continue into the fall...have doubts about the robustness of PSU "learning" procedure because of high temp variability in most hosting sites.
I can tell you that my Sp30 doesnīt show the initial (very short) resets anymore, so the learning seems to work quite well.

It is basically only discovering the highest thermal stress the PSU can take at the current settings, and limits itself to the maximum stable current.

You might therefore be able to achieve a small increase in performance in a cold hosting environment, but the overall impact of temperature on hashrate should be even lower than on the sp10s.
732  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GAW Miners on: August 09, 2014, 06:28:51 PM
I paid with credit card, I'm quite happy with keeping the pre-order (if they can credit the $1200 difference), however I am a little concerned with the radio silence, I was hoping to order more from these guys but their internal comms/infrastructure looks a bit suspect  :/
I obviously donīt know about that.

I know that they are said to be quite an amazing and reputable reseller / manufacturer of mining hardware.

As Guy (from spondoolies) hasnīt announced the exact amount of compensation yet, I guess gaw will not state the exact amount either (which is why you are not getting a clear response yet).
733  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive XBTec Pacific 1250 Setup [HD] on: August 09, 2014, 06:06:04 PM
Thank you, does that put the total error rate at 5.9% aka ~1176GH at the pool?

It would be very nice if we could get an update after 24h, to have a good average.

37°C also seems rather brutal (at 2500 fans that is), do you have access to hosting at a cooler facility?
734  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GAW Miners on: August 09, 2014, 06:02:55 PM
This is anectodal, so please take it with a grain of salt.

From what I have heard, gaw has pretty good customer service and offers miners with instant hosting activation (which really comes online within the 24h period).

As GAW also allows you to use credit cards and paypal, did you by chance use one of these payment options?

While spondoolies itself is a pretty solid company with excellent ethics, they are not quite sure yet as to how much compensation the customers deserve.

Because you ordered from GAW, your right of cancellation (due to very different specs) aswell as compensation should be much easier to enforce (I am not saying you will have to use legal force) .
735  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive XBTec Pacific 1250 Setup [HD] on: August 09, 2014, 05:36:13 PM
Nice review and pics, Dogie.

Have you done any mid/long-term testing to find out the average hardware error rate / poolside performance?

Are you going to provide screenshots from the hashing unit or is the GUI still so ugly you would rather not have anyone see it?

If within 3 months from buying they will send you a new PSU for free (to the DC).

I was hoping this would be the case, Spondoolies shipped my orders on 13th May so all should be OK.

Just make sure you actually send them an email (and get an automated message back that your ticket was received), ideally with your order number and "PSU failure" in the subject of your email.

You can also upload the picture of the burnt-out PSU and link to it in your email, it should accelerate the process.
737  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 09, 2014, 05:01:24 PM

One of my SP10s which is hosted in Iceland is unfortunately down, as the PSU has burnt out. It went down a couple of days ago, at first I could still access the miner, but couldn't get it to start mining again. Remo from Spondoolies kindly had a look for me and confirmed the voltages weren't right which is why it wouldn't mine. After a couple of hard resets, things were no better.

The last reset was a reset too far, and the tech emailed me saying: "There is definitely something wrong with the power supply i think it has burned out. I unpluged the server and plugged it back in and then a strange smell and a little smoke from the server, so i have unplugged it for now".

They even emailed me a picture which I thought was quite good of them.

Anyway ... has anybody else had a PSU go down? I'm not sure how to proceed, but await to see what advice Spondoolies give.

If within 3 months from buying they will send you a new PSU for free (to the DC).

Alternatively, you could buy a used PSU for around 40$, but please check with spondoolies before doing that, as I am not sure whether it would void your remaining warranty.
738  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 09, 2014, 04:10:23 PM
Aaarghh... anybody noticed the rise of the hash rate during the last 24 hours. This is really frightening. Spondoolies: Could you please make sure that September starts  tomorrow :-)

Looks like someone was waiting for the difficulty change before turning on a few PH
Part of it could be statistical variance.

We can wait until 2-3 days before the next change and discuss this, as anything right now would be pure speculation.
739  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 09, 2014, 04:00:20 PM
Is there any P2Pool near the US and or Spondoolies own DC?
It would be awesome if Spondoolies setup an own P2Pool inhouse with very low latency for the hosted miners!
Yes, that would be awesome and I suggested it to Zvi.

He apparrently didnīt have enough time to do a quick setup of a p2pool server or did not want to do it.

I would also not recommend you hosting your sp30 at spondoolies own DC for an extended time, as it is quite pricy (as power in Israel isnīt cheap).
740  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 09, 2014, 03:31:31 PM
Yes they are easy to set up, basically plug-and-play.

Any bitcoin hosting datacenter will manage to do it without instructions and you can also do it yourself without specific mining knowledge.

Again, just pm me your local power rate and I can work out if hosting would in fact be cheaper.

The difficulty isnīt setting the unit up, it is having a pretty much dedicated site where higher noise levels 24/7 will not hinder anyone from sleeping and it doesnīt get stolen.
The sp30 is datacenter-optimised and as such will be quite cheap to host.

There are other miners on the market that are better suited for home deployment, but they are generally not as power-efficient as the sp30.
