Is Ethereum going to take over bitcoin in the upcoming months?

Bitcoin is in a bearmarket and it will only go down.

This will results in a ethereum moontrip

Are you guys ready for a ethereum moontrip or will you be left behind and rekt in a freefalling bitcoin?

Lets go , profit for everyone !  Smiley

ETH has no chances to overtake Bitcoin this year or anytime soon because scaling of ETH network is even worse than BTC. If mass adoption of ETH goes live it will experience the same problems BTC is facing now. Then only thing that can push ETH price significantly is dapps. As a payment network it is not suitable at all.
723  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase added a fees now on: March 24, 2017, 12:21:12 PM
I am only surprised that Coinbase managed to keep their business fee-less model for so long. They most likely wasted quite some money on these high fees.
Bitcoin users need to understand - privacy is not free, by using Coinbase they were giving up their privacy - therefore fees were paid for them.
But when the situation changed, and fees become too much of an economic burden for Coinbase, they give up. No reason to use CB as a wallet anymore.

The higher degree of privacy costs much less if you are using Monero and your privacy is really much more protected. Bitcoin isn't anonymous coin anymore. Governement can track you.

725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: March 24, 2017, 11:43:12 AM
What is the difference of MUE versus PIVX and DASH after the switch to X11 and the masternode ?
Hi, thanks for your interest in MUE.

Please see this link

I read that link but still dont really see what are the main differences/benefits over PIVX and DASH : can you expand on that?
 Thanks.
Without dismissing your question, right now the biggest thing is price.

Also please factor in we have a crypto accepting Forex platform on www.muex.io with industry leading initial deposit bonuses and we have so much more in the pipeline.

Our autodetect nodes on https://muex.io/Nodes provide a service that no one else in the crypto community offers.

We are just starting, and our product pipeline is fit to bursting.

I like your project and think MUE has a big potential. However, I'm not a first year with crypto and I can say with some degree of confidence that marketing goes ahead of the technology. Mainstream users are looking for a nice pics and they don't bother themselves about the technology. However, and paradoxically, in long run technology will take over the marketing and most people will be left with almost $0.

As always, you'll spot a diamond when it is already glittering. However, still good chances to jump into a train.
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Musicoin is here ("No premine,no ico,no bounty") ) on: March 23, 2017, 07:42:50 PM
What is the total supply of this coin?

Infinite supply due to the platform and Musiconomy.

Check out the website here for more details:  http://www.musicoin.org

Thanks!

Thank you! I've checked it out, looks very reasonable idea of money supply:

Quote
The annual growth in supply of coins has been carefully set to follow the anticipated rate of growth of music publishing and consumption. Although there is no finite limit to the number of coins that can be mined, a combination of market forces, mining difficulty and network dynamics will ensure that supply is sufficient to keep up with demand such that a fairly stable price and value in relation to other currencies will be achieved.
728  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase added a fees now on: March 23, 2017, 07:36:17 PM
I used Coinbase extensively while I was collecting a small amount from various faucets and it was free to transfer, so I didn't lost any satoshi. I think that many beginners who are still using faucets are left now with a big trouble. 0.0005 BTC fee is very high for faucet guys and I don't know any solution to transfer your BTC for free.

I expect many of the leading crypto projects marketcap to rise significantly in 2017, so the initial high position of CAN should be reconsidered. As well as you should take into account that all unsold CAN token will be burned. However, it still could  be in the range of TOP 30 cryptocurrencies.

735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can someone shed some light on Tether (USDT) please on: March 21, 2017, 07:12:37 PM
So it is pretty much considered a safe haven on exchanges to avoid bear days. That is the only use?

I suggest you to read this information regarding the Tether (USDT). It should help you to understand how it works and why you should invest in USDT:

Quote
Launched in late 2014 Tether is a cryptocurrency whose main focus is to keep a stable value. It works just like Bitcoin, but it has 2 major differences. First is the fact that each Tether (USDT) is pegged at $1 USD. If you look at Tether’s price chart you will see that it always has a value of $1. The way the currency accomplishes that is because every Tether is backed by a real US dollar. There is a trade off however for such a stable currency. If you would like to trade tether you need to provide some personal information to pass KYC / AML regulations.

The second difference is that Tether doesn’t have its own blockchain like most cryptocurrencies. Instead, it runs on the Omni Layer, which is a platform built on top of Bitcoin, allowing the issuance of digital tokens such as Tether. In a way, each Tether transaction is a Bitcoin transaction which is made through the Omni Layer. Tether’s market cap is ranked at number 21 and is at $14 million. If you are tired of the volatile crypto market and want to store some coins in a stable crypto asset, definitely look into Tether.
736  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-03-21] Hard Fork Rhetoric Sparks $1 Bln Cross-Crypto Trading on: March 21, 2017, 09:01:00 AM
The higher prices of BTC are beneficial for miners as they are getting higher fees. If this tendency will continue and BU will take a lead the future of Bitcoin is very obscure. We should expect to see growing price of BTC itself but also the cost per TX will rise as well. However, confirmation time should be much faster.
737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] StalinCoin ☭ Hybrid PoW & PoS ☭ Free Wealth ☭ on: March 20, 2017, 11:53:31 AM
It was an interesting idea. But the developers do not seem motivated.
Stalin that I have has 1 Satoshi but I will keep it.

Coin dedicated to one of the most shitty persons in the world history. Cmmon, stop this nonsense.

FUDsters live only by shiting on every thread on this forum and seeding a lot of mistrust for their own interests.  The only thing how can you escape them is to ignore all the FUD they're spreading accross the all threads.
739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PIVX bubble bursted? on: March 20, 2017, 10:24:59 AM
I missed this before the huge pump happened. I think this year is a year of anonymous coins and I expect that cryptos associated with anonymity features will do well in 2017. Regarding PIVX I think that correction should come.
740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Doge Ever Going to Go Anywhere? on: March 20, 2017, 07:16:01 AM
In comparison with other shitcoins DOGE is kind of stable. The price in USD terms don't fall 100% and more and you profit from accident pumps on the market. However the dream that DOGE can make you a millions is just a dream. It will never be, IMO.
