...
Bitcoins are the profit silly.
...

This! I am quite profitable and never "cash out". I just spend BTC to buy what I want. Why would I go back to 2nd. rate fiat? yuk.
7322  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: First Insurance Company to Accept Bitcoin on: March 20, 2013, 02:05:06 PM
Great service to offer the growing bitcoin community! I think next year you will be busy explaining this to other insurers as they take note of your profits.
7323  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has some large dumping started on: March 20, 2013, 01:59:37 PM
Yes, please do panic sell. It will help bitcoin to get the coins away from shaky, speculative hands.
7324  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: post removed about cheap BTC on: March 20, 2013, 01:56:17 PM
If the post said "selling $20 bills for $15!!!" no one would even consider that it is legit. Why would it be different with bitcoin?
7325  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-03-20 RIP, Bitcoin, I think on: March 20, 2013, 01:53:15 PM
Here we go again.  Yet another thread started by someone who didn't actually read the FINCEN report but copy/pasted someone else's incorrect interpretation of it.
To be fair, the thread was not started by the author of this nonsense.
7326  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-03-20 RIP, Bitcoin, I think on: March 20, 2013, 01:48:18 PM
The government insisting on taxation and anti-money laundering measures is not the end of bitcoin. It is in fact the beginning of mainstream adoption. I consider this some of the best news bitcoin has ever seen. A statement of support from the government really. Proof that they recognize the coming age of digital money.

Look at the URL, you will see the important words. "Blog" and "unqualified".
7327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cleaning up dust in a wallet on: March 19, 2013, 08:12:47 PM
Introduce a friend to bitcoin and give them the wallet? At least the client won't be quite as boring with a few Satoshis.

7329  Economy / Economics / Re: Things getting interesting once we past $100 on: March 19, 2013, 08:04:19 PM
buy goods and service with bitcoin directly.

Agreed.

That's the cost of transferring your wealth into "uncle sam" system.

Use Bitcoin directly. Now is a good time for a real BTC debit card.

+1
Why everyone wants to "cash out" when you worked so hard to get better cash is beyond me.  you can buy almost anything with BTC these days.
7330  Economy / Goods / Re: Amateur radio gear on: March 19, 2013, 08:00:50 PM
While I'm not interested in any of your gear right now, I have to say that this thread reminded me how cool ham is, and now I'm going to get certified Smiley So thanks for that Tongue

7331  Economy / Speculation / Re: May want to move your funds from MtGox this week on: March 19, 2013, 07:57:01 PM
Well, I was thinking of that, but you know, the incentive is as great to write a virus that could get your wallet.dat and keystokes of your password...  Maybe diversifying, in 3 exchanges plus your wallet, so if one get hacked, you only lose 25%...
That would help. Better yet, come get mine. They are on a USB stick right behind me and my arsenal of assault weapons.
7332  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: eBay Avalon scam. AGAIN !!! on: March 19, 2013, 07:54:33 PM

7334  Economy / Speculation / Re: May want to move your funds from MtGox this week on: March 19, 2013, 07:47:12 PM
I try to keep only a few hundred dollars worth of coins at the exchange. But it keeps going up so I am constantly pulling more out.
Not a bad problem to have.
7335  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do you think more people in mexico and spanish countrys will start using btc? on: March 19, 2013, 07:44:20 PM
sí, claro! Creo que está ocurriendo ahora.
7336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Age of Cryptocurrency is Upon Us on: March 19, 2013, 07:34:24 PM
Optimism is so high these days that I feel like a bear. Remember this is all new and no one knows what will happen. I would not want to put a lot of my portfolio in BTC yet. I think it has a bright future, but WTF do I know?
Don't forget to hedge and diversify if you are counting on bitcoin's success.
7337  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who is Phinnaeus Gage? on: March 19, 2013, 05:58:38 PM

Who knows where the price can go with http://maxkeiser.com
pumping it claiming BTC going to $10k-$100k, now claiming $200k!

His message is going out on RT and reaching 550 million eyeballs in 100 countries.

Previously he was pumping "$500 silver if you want it" but it only got to $50. Wink

I recommend:

Downloading the newest client and transfer the bulk of your bit-wealth to it. If it is a lot, make several copies of the wallet.dat file and save them to USB sticks. Bury one in your backyard, keep one in your safety deposit box, etc. You might want to rename and encrypt a copy of the file then hide it online somewhere.
I would also transfer a smallish amount to an online wallet. Perhaps at an exchange like MtGox. This can be your easy to spend money.
