741  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 12, 2014, 06:26:43 AM
If we go below the 560 for any significative ammount of time, according to the 12 hours graph, we will go down and I don't know were are we expected to stop - maybe somewhere in the 400's?.

Monkey puts that number at 440.

So you sold.

The price is so far down a grand total of 18 dollars with the same number of coins on stamp to run up to over 600 as 540. We haven't even breached any made up technicals yet.

What was that advice previously off posted here: if in doubt, hold!

Actually no, I bought some.  Monkey says if it breaks down the turn is likely at 440.  But monkey doesn't see a break down yet.

A break of what level might do it for you? I am watching closely at 540-550 area. If that fails, I think we will see 400s again. Still not too much momentum downward, but that can change in an instant.....

Was pretty floored to hear this earlier today. Such an upbeat, funny guy. I'll have to revisit some of his movies soon. RIP Robin.

Bouncy bouncy.

Unfortunately, this bounce is significantly less bullish looking than the last bounce of 56x levels. Last time, it was a fluid, round bounce on RSI, MACD and OBV. This time, significant struggle and chewing up momentum for minimal gain. Looks like a dead cat bounce to 580 or so then test of 550 levels IMO.
744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: stellar going up on: August 12, 2014, 05:42:32 AM
Stellar is really a phenomenom. So many people are talking about it suddenly. Really scary!

Took quite the dump today..... what was that -- ~ 70k to 200k in a day? Ouch for those holding. Fortunately I pulled out some profits yesterday and will just hold the rest for the eventual moon. Grin
745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I can't claim Stellar :( on: August 12, 2014, 05:41:05 AM
I want to claim Stellar but I am not there in Facebook.
Is there any other alternative way of claiming this?

This method is not a very good one.
What do u suggest i do?

So dont you have a parent with facebook? I mean you can ask them to help you claim some stellars you wanted but couldnt because of facebook

Then you'd have to fork your parents' private information over to the Stellar Foundation for the sake of a giveaway. I could consider that for my own account (I refuse), but not my parents....
746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar on: August 11, 2014, 09:05:53 AM
which exchange is the price from?

It's not clear from the chart, but JustCoin is the biggest exchange trading STR/BTC as far as I can tell. There's also some Thai exchange, but don't know the name of it...
747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: stellar going up on: August 11, 2014, 06:40:07 AM
why sell now?? im not seeing the top of the price until it gets to 20-30 k... selling now is loses, see my picture in the last page of stellar topic

Well, 75-85k was a good place to sell to catch that pullback, I must say. Smiley I think we could actually see <20k prices, maybe even <10k, considering how far XRP got. Fingers crossed... Tongue
748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I can't claim Stellar :( on: August 11, 2014, 06:38:48 AM
No soup for you! Undecided

There is talk on Stellartalk that there may be alternative ways to claim soon -- perhaps verifying via other social networking sites, or with SMS, or other things like that.
749  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much of your earning you are converting to BTC? on: August 11, 2014, 06:36:49 AM
I'm not actually putting any new money in. Maybe if price is still this low (or lower) around year-end bonus time, I will put in a couple thousand more. For now, just keeping most in cold storage and trading with 10-20%.
750  Economy / Speculation / Re: sideways for so long now.... on: August 11, 2014, 06:35:18 AM
Can't stay at this price for long as network difficulty keeps going up.

What are you implying? At some point, in theory, if price can't keep up with difficulty, might difficulty just drop as the unprofitable miners drop out?
751  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will we ever be able to change our avatars? on: August 11, 2014, 06:33:34 AM
When the new forum software is installed, supposedly. But that may be a long ways off. Will cost millions of dollars apparently. I guess I'm stuck with my "bottlecaps" avatar LOL...
752  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will the next bubble start? on: August 11, 2014, 06:31:09 AM
Maybe the November 2013 bubble was the last one. That would be a bummer, huh? Or maybe masterluc was right, and we're in for a multi-year bear market. Fun stuff!
753  Economy / Speculation / Re: sideways for so long now.... on: August 11, 2014, 06:29:56 AM
Stability is good sometimes.. it enables projects based on bitcoin price to succed.. when it is climbing hugely or dropping no one wants to invest or do other business with their btcs..

The thing is, a few weeks of sideways is not "stability". At these kind of volumes, especially, this sort of sideways usually ends of squeezing into a powerful, volatile move.

If we were trading for several months at high volumes in a tight range like this, I might call it stability.

755  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a ripple? on: August 11, 2014, 06:26:34 AM
Forget Ripple. Jed already dumped his pre-mine, and now he has forked Ripple into Stellar. Go on and get your Stellars then. Grin

How to get some Stellars. Do Stellars has value.

Really? Those Stellars everyone is talking about are forked Ripples? Holy cow... The thing is: Altcoins really don't get my attention anymore. I just stay with BTC I guess. It's the safest bet because it's the one with the biggest traction and active development.

When BTC is back in a strong bull market, I think we might see 2013-like bubbles in altcoins again. They will get your attention again then. Wink

Its all down hill from here. take the money and run.

Nah, I think Stellar is gonna have an epic pump or two before it's "look out below!" time. It's already doubled (and pulled back a bit) since these posts in the last day or two.

Buy buy buy!!! Cheesy

(I kid.....)
756  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Dell is now the world's largest ecommerce business to accept #bitcoin" on: August 11, 2014, 06:15:54 AM
That would be great if another big guys would start to accept BTC, there should be a jump in the price already, i guess that this is the calm period of the year, that is why BTC price is not moving alot.

I think retailers like Dell and Dish and Newegg (Dell is obviously bigger) accepting BTC is already sort of priced in. This sort of thing is already expected IMO. And we're a long ways off from giants like Amazon accepting it, I think, since Bitpay, etc wouldn't be able to handle the volume.
757  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Receiving coin while unsynchronized ? on: August 11, 2014, 06:06:29 AM
Think about your wallet.dat in cold storage. You send coins, but your wallet is never syncing the blockchain. Just gotta keep an eye on the address and see that the transactions confirm!
758  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: mining with smartphone on: August 11, 2014, 06:04:57 AM
Don't mine with a smartphone or a laptop. And at this point, I would not recommend a GPU rig either. In fact, I wouldn't recommend getting into ASICs even, unless you have a reliable chip supplier that will work cheap and fast...
759  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many Bitcoins needed to retire in 5-6 years? on: August 11, 2014, 06:02:40 AM
I just talked to a economics Phd and we analyzed some stats surrounding BTC. We made some good/worst case scenarios and took the average of those scenarios.

Our price prediction for 2020 = 10,750 USD Wink

"Are you kidding me? I have to wait 6 years for 10k? No way, we're going to the moon this year!" -the average HODLer around here. Grin
760  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 11, 2014, 06:01:23 AM
Wall games at Huobi. Saw ~1200 in bids pulled near 3600.... some were replaced, only half. And now a 250+ ask wall near the spread. In recent days, that would have been immediately bought. Not today....
