Wow you must have a ton of inputs. I feel sorry for you, rolling your pennies until you can finally get your $100 bill, then you find out you're going to have to ship the pennies across the world. DAMN!

742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why not FIX the Transaction Fee? on: May 21, 2017, 05:34:05 PM
I think BTC will become a tool for the rich class only anytime soon.

Well that is because of the continuous rise in bitcoin's price. I will give you that. However, Bitcoin has a smaller unit, which is the Satoshi, which lower class can afford. I do not think that bitcoin will be exclusive for higher/rich class only in the near future, middle class should never be out of the picture here. Well I personally do not know why are we talking about social class here since we are talking about transaction fees being fixed.

Yeah it has a small unit but the fees are outrageous. Who would pay $6-$8 for a smaller transaction to get confirmed? Buy a coffee with BTC if you can anymore
743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $8 fee to send transaction in the next block? on: May 21, 2017, 05:30:54 PM
That kind of transaction fee is extremely unusual.

Based on very rough estimates, that would be a fee of BTC0.00395 at current estimates, which is 395,000 satoshi.  As bitcoinfees.21.co says, the median transaction size is 226 bytes, resulting in a fee of 67,800 satoshi with 300 satoshi/byte.

You can still get confirmations in less than a day with half of that fee, which would be about 33,900 satoshi, which is about $0.7.

You must have had a very large transaction.

There you go - $6 to get in the next 2 blocks

what can be done?
Its about choosing scaling solution. There are pros and cons of every scaling options out there, this is problem, people argue since years.

Let's let them argue and see another alt coin becoming number 1 then Smiley The market cap difference is getting smaller and smaller

whats the reason of its pump

easy money?
747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: We're in a bubble on: May 21, 2017, 05:18:57 PM
I think it is not a bubble, but mass adaptation. I mean, it is still not mass, but it is getting there. So there might be some ups and downs, but the general trend is towards blockchain and that means that the blockchain project will be successful and their price will increase.

Smiley what mass adoption? with $8 BTC fees per transaction we won't see something like this soon

It's a bubble; who would buy long time dead coins just for adoption - it's just pure quick profit
748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / 1 BTC = 250x fees then you will remain with 0 BTC on: May 21, 2017, 05:04:20 PM
Wonder how many realize this. Basically you are feeding the whales.

At this time PayPal fees are cheaper  Roll Eyes
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $8 fee to send transaction in the next block? on: May 21, 2017, 04:59:14 PM
Grin Guys you better do something or an altcoin will take over once for good, this is slowly becoming a bad joke, don't care if 1 BTC is $2,000

If you want to move funds to and out an exchange (and want to make sure it's confirmed fast) you pay $16 ! for basically nothing

Yeah if I were a whale I wouldn't mind, but I'm not one

Seems no one cares about ugly fees scenario except users like us who could only repent and do nothing.
I guess day is not far away when bitcoin market cap will be beaten by other coins. Present increase in altcoin price is also due to this scalability issue and increased interest towards alts.

Yes I'm considering moving to other alt coins if this doesn't change any time soon; BTC price doesn't represent the true reality
750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think we are greedy on: May 21, 2017, 04:57:45 PM
I think paying $1-$5 in fees is relatively acceptable, since bitcoin price is rising every single day.
I agree. I've been paying between $0.5 and $1 fee every time since I got interested in Bitcoin, but things started to suck lately. Last week I've sent a $1 fee transaction and it went relatively fine and got processed in about 12 hours. This week my transaction is stuck for over 50 hours!

Just pay $8 and it will be processed in "only" 30 minutes! Cheesy

If you are moving funds between exchanges, use something like litecoin which as low fees and the price seems to have stabalised too.

I want to move them from me to exchange and backwards
752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think we are greedy on: May 21, 2017, 04:47:07 PM
Current BTC fees are huge and you have to accept it's not right
753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0 confirmations in 3 days. on: May 21, 2017, 04:25:16 PM
Hello,
It's been 3 days since I made a payment and It still has 0 confirmations. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks again!

Viabtc's slots are full as always because of it is being swarmed by the freeloaders. If you need your transaction to be confirmed right away and you don't mind to pay a few bucks more you can try this paid service:

https://pushtx.btc.com/

I checked the price for you and the fee is around 8.5$.

If you don't do anything, your coins will get back to the source address and if you own that address, you can send them again with a proper fee.

Smiley $8,5 ? what a funny joke
754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $8 fee to send transaction in the next block? on: May 21, 2017, 04:12:08 PM
what can be done?

They are devs out there; if I knew I would do it myself Smiley However the BTC current price is not reflecting reality this way, it's a big bubble!

756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the next coin +100% tomorrow this time? on: May 21, 2017, 03:41:32 PM
At this pumping rate if you choose the right coin and invest 1 BTC you will have 2 BTC tomorrow.

Which is the next coin to sustain this?
You're looking to double your money on a coin that's already in the middle of a pump? Throw the dice and pick one. Seriously.

If you want to be smart, you go and look at the 1 year/all time charts of a bunch of coins. When a coin price is flat at the bottom, then you can buy and wait for the next pump. If you really want to be smart about it, you watch for a sudden large increase in trading volume that exists for a few days and then goes away. Typically, those don't result in any significant change in the coins price because the people doing it know what they're doing. Within a few weeks, the coin will get pumped and you can often get 5x out of it. Some will go as high as 10x but not all so it's best to get out early. The key to not losing money is not to be greedy and especially play the "if I'd only stayed in longer" game. No one ever remembers how many times they would have lost money if they'd stayed in longer.

Thanks for the tips. Has DigiByte followed this scenario?

This is the issue: it will be pumped. It needs steady growth not pumping to go to the Moon!
