741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Pearl on: March 24, 2015, 12:52:51 AM
Any protip about hodling CLAM, any good reason why to dump em or hold em?
the price is going down

I saw this in the Just-Dice chat:

Quote
(960217) <ElysianBaws> dont worry about clams
(960217) <ElysianBaws> i had to sell some cus i needed btc
(960217) <ElysianBaws> wont sell more
(960217) <ElysianBaws> I actually tried to trick the shapeshift system
(960217) <ElysianBaws> cus it worked in my test
(960217) <ElysianBaws> but it actually goes down with the poloniex price and the other way around

The price of CLAM doesn't seem to move a whole lot - it's been between 0.005 and 0.008 BTC for quite a while now.

The main use for CLAM is still Just-Dice. Other places are starting to accept it, but I don't think any of them have near the volume that Just-Dice does.

People are investing in the Just-Dice bankroll and earning around 1.7% to 2.0% per week doing so (mostly from staking rewards). If the price holds steady, that's a reasonable thing to do.

ElysianBaws went on to say:

Quote
(960217) <ElysianBaws> anyone wants to sell clams? i buy 100 btc worth 0.003 ^^

So he's looking to buy back in already. Just trying his luck at day-trading I guess.

The great thing about Clams is the large community behind it that helps it be very successful. Sometimes you can have the best product but without community support and active members no one will ever know. That is what attracted me early on even before Just-dice when the price was fairly low. The community was active, encouraging and dooglus went out of his way to explain how the coin worked and best way to get the most out of your stakes. I am happy to be part of such a successful community!

Dear XAI,

Please go back up one day.

Yours,

Check back in about four months, but for now do your dance!

My concerns:
-It was an ICO so dev bought as many coins as they wanted for free
-Dev calls himself a technology all star
-Dev has a high school education

Seems mostly hype here

That is understandable in the crypto world, your best bet may be to wait and see if things pan out the way they are detailed by the dev.

Save your Bitcoin for now and get in when you feel its not hype, nothing wrong with playing it safe
744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] VGC - VegasCoin on: March 19, 2015, 06:29:25 AM
Search engines are detecting the vegascoin website as hacked

Owners of the site may want to check things out and rectify things with search engines
745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Orbitcoin v1.5.0.0 ~ NeoScrypt ~ Green Stake on: March 17, 2015, 10:57:17 PM
I found this configuration file and wondered if its correct for solo mining?

server=1
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=15299
port=15298
sse2=1
stakegen=1
stakemindepth=10000
minersleep=500
dns=1
addnode=seed0.orb.sx
addnode=seed1.orb.sx

FOR POS is ok
stakemindepth can you set lower and minersleep too, try it out

the best input for staking is 20 ORB!

you can not solo mining with sgminer! I think. maybe you can solo mine with ccminer for Nvidia cards, i don't konw

You can mine over a pool or about POS only  because you meant to must ORB keep in your wallet and let this wallet opened! So they will stake!

Thank you for the info, I will stick with the pool since solo seems to be problematic.

Is this true? "has successfully built modules that are collectively distributed throughout the peer-to-peer (p2p) sphere which focus on voice communication." It sounds premature.
I don't know where they got that phrase from or what it translates to in English Tongue  We don't have voice/voip modules in XAI right now.

I'm going to be dropping the next update soon.  Right now I have a massive headache though so once I can actually concentrate I'll package things up tonight.

That is exciting news, I cant wait!

Is it worthwhile to Join the slack group?

Yes, but you need to be an ICO investor.

There is talk of creating a public slack group or moving discussions more towards IRC.

Thank you

I am an ICO investor, so I will be putting in my ticket with my signed ICO address shortly.

See you in the slack! Smiley

I have a travel site with almost 100,000 fans, I could see how something like this could really bring a new element of adventure to travel!

Going to have to get around to mining some eventually and try it out with the fans
That is great news.

That could ignite something big for Geocoin.  Smiley  Smiley Perhaps Tobler will want to run some sort of promotion where your users get a few GEO to try it out and play with it. What is your travel website?

I am down for that, I just need to see how easy it would be for a novice user to implement

Ideally an android app they could use while they travel to the destination would be ideal

Honestly I haven't had a chance to mine this one and play with it yet, but it looks very promising from what I see so far

Hope to get to it in the next week

Article on startupdope.com mentioned XAI "..One of those alternative cryptocurrencies, XAI (Sapience AIFX), has gone beyond being a simple alternative to bitcoin and actively been developing a solution that can be used on.."

Interesting article

I never heard of that site before, but it looks like they are very popular in India and the Ukraine

any help for a good block size going forward?

I have good luck with stacks of 1000 and I make sure auto optimize is not checked.

It seems like stacks should be at least over 600 minimum

thanks, you think thatll still hold up when the max. stake goes down?

Its at 16 now, I have not heard about it going down

Maybe I missed something in this forum?

Someone is throwing a ton of hash at this only to discover a massive reward drop. Slow and steady wins the race, hope he did not spend much on the rental trying to get his greed on!
