81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Small Miners, how much do you make ? on: October 06, 2019, 01:03:28 PM
Mostly Just mining Ethereum with the hope that they will eventually implement some sort of POS system although its looking like you will need around thirty two or more eth to be able to participate in staking.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RandomX Intel CPU mining performance | benchmarks mining Monero on: October 03, 2019, 12:36:31 PM
Not a direct comment at the OP, but most people posting are ignoring the cost of electricity. I realize that someone who mines on one or two PCs either doesn’t care or doesn’t pay (thanks Mom, if you only knew).

That said, right now mining any RandomX coins has very little profit. I’m still hashing away at 60KH/s, making a couple dollars a day if I’m lucky.

Example...

3700x system getting 8150 H/s @ 126 watts (whole system, at the wall). Where I live, that is $0.40 per day on power and I’ll make (as of today) $0.61 on Loki. So, $0.21 per day profit! I can by a coffee a week.

Just hoping the first few weeks after the Monero fork are much more profitable so I can break even, good news is that if I’m not I can still sell this stuff. At this rate, 2700 days to break even. Not complaining. I love this shit.

One option many people do not think about is solar power, with the prices getting to be very affordable they even have systems that do not require inspections and install by just plunging into your AC socket. You wont be able to power things full time without batteries, so its more of a way to drop your average cost over time.

Nothing like solar mining

Batteries for storing power could be quite expensive. Is there a way to overproduce the power and let trough grid and in night time take back when needed?

If you go with a grid tied system you can bank unused power but that requires inspections and a greater amount of time to get setup. Right now you are better off buying more solar panels over batteries and just banking your excess power. The other option is buying a system that has no need for inspections to setup and just offsetting your energy costs during the day.

I have a couple Baikal Giant B miners I purchased used dirt cheap, its unfortunate that secret mining code is not being shared with the community. Its all about quick short term gains and not the longevity of any project with certain groups of people.

85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: x16r2v Ravencoin network upgrade successful. on: October 03, 2019, 09:39:58 AM
Upgrade your miners and start hashing till asics and fpga haven't returned back.
Waiting for network to stabilize to see most accurate profits.
So far profits seems to increase.

The network hash rate dropped off quite a bit, so it will be interesting to see how long it takes people to reprogram their FPGA cards and start mining on the new algo. Looks like profits are similar to Zcoin now although it has been bouncing around and may take some time to stabilize like you mentioned.

is this coin still alive?

People are still mining it, but for the most part the development team has moved on to other things full time. A couple team members do updates now and then and keep the main pool up and running. Some people are just solo mining it from the wallet which gives the added benefit of mining invites in addition to the coin itself.

(for 4gb GPU) ---cuckoo-intensity 16
(for 6gb GPU) -g 2 --cuckoo-intensity 16
(for 8gb GPU) -g 2 --cuckoo-intensity 22
(for 11gb GPU) -g 2 --cuckoo-intensity 30

Any ideia what to use to 2gb cards?

Your invitecode : pedrombv

This is a late reply but just in case you haven't found out the best solution for your 2gb cards I am using -g 1 --cuckoo-intensity 12 on a GTX 750 ti card with decent results. Hash rates are higher than normal right now because of one miner fooling around but hopefully she will go away and low power cards will again mine more and only sip a tiny bit of electricity.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RandomX Intel CPU mining performance | benchmarks mining Monero on: October 01, 2019, 10:03:52 AM
Thanks for the information and the video, its going to be an exciting time for cpu miners or for regular miners with a decent cpu in their mining rig. I have a Ryzen 1700 that is getting around 4.0 kh/s but I am sure the results could be better with some optimization. I am going to have to test out an i5 6400t and a threadripper 1950x to see what kind of results I can get with those.

Yes looking forward whats is going to happen with Monero, hope it doesn't get flooded with malware miners. hreadripper 1950x  seems to have good performance, amd outperforming Intel on this algorithm. Not often you see this ...ha
#flippening

What is going to be really interesting is the Threadripper 3000 processors when they get released although they probably wont be a very cost effective choice. I have a feeling they are going to kill it in the cpu mining arena with large cache sizes and better use of board memory speeds. I know that quad and dual channel memory speeds can have an impact on some of the cpu mining algos.

90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Internet Disconnections and Slowing While Mining on: October 01, 2019, 07:02:00 AM
I am having internet connection issues while mining. I am using Claymore and I have a RX580. It is not only disconnection but also  can't do anything else while the miner program is running and mining. I tried some solutions that I have found around and non of them seems to be working for me.

Any ideas about how to overcome this issue? Is it about my router or the internet connection speed? I tried another source for the internet and got the same problem by the way.

Another thing is, I can use the wi-fi through other devices but not the computer that does the mining.

Mining eth is memory intensive which can cause your GPU to use most of the memory resources on your GPU which could cause web pages to load slowly because of the resources used by the GPU for mining. Some additional details will be helpful as well such as are you using a 4gb or 8gb card, what operating system are you using, what type of processor is on this system and finally how much system memory do you have? Generally its better not to use the same system you mine with as a desktop.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lytix - PoS Maxnode Data API Crypto Platform on: October 01, 2019, 05:43:21 AM
I wanted to let all of you know some stuff going on in my life which is impacting me and my involvement in this project. I have to spend a lot more time at doctors and treatment for my son that still doesn't talk or eat (drinks pediasure to stay alive.) That's taking a lot more of my time which leaves little time to devote to this project. I'm not sure when he will get better, but hopefully the treatments and therapy sessions will help.

The other shoe that dropped for me was that my employer found this project to be a conflict of interest in my current job and told me to cease and desist my involvement with it. Unfortunately, to keep food on our table and keep my son alive I will have to stop working on this and hand it over to the community. I'm attempting to find folks to run different things (some of which has already backfired today) so the project can continue and eventually thrive.

There a list of items that I need to hand over, so possibly someone can own different things. I'll outline them here so you all can help run them and keep the project going.
1. domain name lytixchain.org
2. webserver
3. explorer
4. DNS nodes
5. Crex relationship
6. Altcoin market relationship
7. Twitter
8. Medium
9. Youtube
10. Discord

The domain name lytixchain.org expires on 11/6/2019. I won't be able to renew it.

Sorry to hear about your son and I understand the importance of spending time with him and making sure he gets better. You have put in a quite a bit of work into development and the community is pretty awesome for the most part. This could be a good opportunity for a developer or group of developers to take over a project that is listed on an exchange and has an existing community involved with it.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PlatinumBAR XPTX - Rare Cryptocurrency with PoW / PoS (230%) on: September 27, 2019, 03:04:27 AM
Sadly no news, no twitter posts, no updates, nothing.  :/

The community would have to work together and hire a dev if they wanted to make anything happen as far as coin specs go. We will have to deal with the PoS of 230% or we will eventually have to take out the rare claim in the description. What would the community like to see happen? Masternodes or maybe 5% PoS ---- its really up to us at this point.
93  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: June 30, 2019, 04:09:08 PM
Will miners still be able to use this service without an account or is everyone required to register with the new service? How will payouts be handled with those that do not wish to sign up with NiceHash?  I wonder if miners that do not have accounts and do not intend to have accounts should stop mining now to avoid any payment issues once the platform transitions.

OP has been updated.

If you know of any other services which should be listed OP, please compile a list and post it here so that I can add it both here and on the website.

Thanks!

Thank for updating the OP, its nice to see you back on Bitcointalk although I can not blame you for not posting much here considering the toxic aspects of this forum. I am good with you updating the OP now and then and getting important info from twitter. So far I have not encountered any dishonesty or shady practice on your part and you have never promised anything that could not be delivered. Things may not be moving at the speed some people would like, but an important attribute in the crypto world is patience.

Anyone have a good guess at the optimal stack size in order to get the most out of GTM staking? I was thinking of stacks of 100 or so, but I would like to hear from others who currently stake Gentarium.

Looks like the Wallet status is Maintenance at Yobit again so avoid sending anything to Yobit until they get the issue resolved, hopefully with everything else up and running they will start running more consistently again. Cryptopia still shows the market as being paused for quite a few coins XPTX included so lets keep our fingers crossed to get these two exchanges back in play.

I have one EVGA GTX 1660 TI single fan model and I am thinking about picking up a couple more, I was thinking about the 1660 model but I do like the idea of having faster memory bandwidth for those algos that require it.  Do you guys like the two fan models or do you find the single fan models to be adequate for your cooling and overclock needs?

That 3-slot EVGA 1 fan editions are great for mining and cool enough. But the resale value of 2 or 3 fan cards are higher, because its more the style of "Gamers". Also every blinki LED shit is a good bonus on top.

Thanks for the feedback, that makes me more inclined to stick with the single fan fat heatsink cards although I may pick up one of those MSI two fan versions for the same price just to compare.

Is this similar to the way NKN works with nodes getting rewarded for supporting the network on a random basis or is it more geared towards giving rewards to the nodes with better hardware cascading down with smaller rewards for less powerful hardware?
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: April 20, 2019, 06:16:09 PM
The period in which crypto enthusiasts can easily do simple things (tasks) and get massive, free returns for their works gone away for too long, maybe more than one year. Recent 6 months, due to crash of Bitcoin and crypto market, things changed more challenging, and in order to earn money, people have to do more and harder works. Furthermore, it requires them to do more works with higher quality to get payments.

I do not remember a time when you could get massive free returns, everything requires you to be patient and wait for projects to develop and prove functional. The most important thing is to have patience and wait for the right conditions and the for project to withstand the test of time.
