Good opportunity to create nice bottom here on the daily. Join in and throw some support out there if you've got spare btc.

Keep the price above 30 sat at all costs.

The price will just do what it does. Which is Huh

Then all the efforts the devs put in go to waste is if falls back into the 20s.

Continued development is never a waste, all coins are subject to groups of people working together to make short term profit even Bitcoin.

The things required for cryptocurrency is patience, consistency, dedicated devs and a tolerance for risk.

A community that gets behind it and comes up with innovative way to use the coin while spreading the word is just as important.

Looks very interesting, not sure how I missed this one

Community looks active and dev seems to be very consistent

Going to read some more and likely support this project!
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps 2.1 UPDATE REQUIRED - HARDFORK JULY 4 2014 to 200% Annual PoS on: December 15, 2015, 01:21:48 AM
In light of the difficulties that Cryptsy is having which I hope Cryptsy eventually will work out. I believe that Bottlecaps should be listed on more exchanges.
+1 cryptsy has a huge fee for wridraw....there should be other exchanges

I agree that new fee on Cryptsy is obscene!

I have not tried the other exchange Caps is listed on so maybe others can let us know if fees are reasonable.
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Trollcoin 2.0 [TRL] Bleutrade swap to new chain [TROLL] in progress! on: December 15, 2015, 12:59:03 AM
I seriously think pos, and posv3 in particular, is the best thing to happen for TROLL thus far. Such a great way to support the blockchain. I couldn't mine TRL v1, but now I leave my wallet unlocked for staking 24/7

Staking is much better for the environment as well, no need to waste energy manufacturing equipment that ends up obsolete and energy inefficient over time. Its much easier to support the chain long term with a system that uses under 100 watts!
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: December 15, 2015, 12:45:41 AM
Although it doesn't concern CLAM development, it is likely worth mentioning the 'President of the United States' set of CLAMour petitions.

The more protected political speech on the chain, the more resilient we could potentially be in terms of legal challenges.

http://txti.es/potus2016

Such an awesome way to use CLAMour!

I love it!
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Orbitcoin v1.5.0.0 ~ NeoScrypt ~ Green Stake on: December 14, 2015, 07:36:57 PM
13 staked ORB in my wallet the last 7 hours, energy consumption, very low

13*0.268 USD = 0.3844 USD If double the BTC and the price ORB/BTC is the same then 0.6968 USD Smiley only 7 hour's

Its a great way to mine a coin with very low supply

Just think of all the energy you save!

sweet, looks like the btc rise shook out a lot of weak hands Tongue time2buyyy

Time to buy Bitcoin or time to buy Amsterdamcoin?
If it's time to buy Bitcoin why did you write here?
If it's time to buy Amsterdamcoin what's the correlation between weak hands of Bitcoin and Amsterdamcoin? Elaborate please.

He means weak hands as in holders of AMS who have to dump immediately as soon as BTC rises thinking they are gonna miss out on some sorta profit

With continued development and community support, this could be something nice to have long term.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: December 13, 2015, 11:27:36 PM
There is not easy mobility between countries, nor can you create new countries easily, so the analogy is false. You can change your ownership of a coin with the click of a mouse, or fork a repo with a different click.
Well you could take that analogy to mean that. But essentially you are saying that you are not interested in CLAM changing in any way, so if anyone wants to change anything about the coin they need to leave? I get that you have an opinion. But a lot of us really like CLAM and want it to get better. Why start from scratch when you have something amazing already with just some imperfections?

I see it as a bunch of gamblers trying to protect there value nothing else.
I get this argument, and I'm sure there are many on the side of "stopping digging" that are supporting it purely out of self-interest. However, there are others of us who see it as a way to strengthen CLAM and remove the uncertainty that will haunt this coin forever until changed. If I was voting for stopping digging just for my own wallet I would say lets do it tomorrow. Or how about we invalidate all coins dug after I got mine. But I'm saying nothing like that at all. I'm saying lets have set a date at least 6 months or 1 year in the future and put a block number for a cutoff to stop digging. This will cause a renewed interest in the coin and renewed evangelism as everyone tells their friends to triple check those addresses. Then after that date, no more worries of clam tanking by some previously unknown force. CLAM owners will be able to make their own fate and not have it thrown to the wind.

Better to vote for the progress you want to see with clam  http://txti.es/clamour

What LYB miners think about block finder bonus? Would a block finder bonus attract people to the official pool? Why I'm asking, this feature is available in the poolserver and I'd like to try it out. I bet it might interest miners with lower hashrates.

Can you make sure the password rest options work on the pool

430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: December 13, 2015, 01:45:52 AM
It does in the form of staking. If the entire 14 million CLAM distribution actually existed and still exists (which it certainly did not and does not), that would be 3% per year inflation which is isn't trivial. At a more realistic (?) OOMA estimate of 5 million that is 10% inflation which is quite effective in redistributing wealth over time.

Given several years of staking and what has already been dug up, the effect of new digs will be negligible. It may even be already. What are the odds that the recent "dig" is the biggest mass dig that will ever happen in terms of percentage of active supply? Very significant IMO.

There certainly is logic in your argument, and I hope you are pretty accurate. However, the one problem not being factored in is the uncertainty of the undug CLAM. How many people have left CLAM or avoided CLAM after learning of the mega supply that could be unloaded on the market at any time? Sure, there is risk in any currency. But how many people decide the risks with CLAM are just too much? I believe in CLAM, but I think it would be a much easier sell to people if the initial distribution wasn't this huge drag and potential black swan 24/7.

I'm not saying a huge digger will come out tomorrow, or ever again. But the problem is that one can. 10 can. By the end of the day we could see CLAM crash worse than ever before - not because of the CLAM holders who have been supporting the currency, but because of someone discovering a huge cache of undug addresses they had from some experiment they ran, or a web wallet/service. I think the initial distribution added a ton of value to CLAM by being so widespread. But now that distribution is a gun pointed at our head, and nobody knows if its loaded or when it will fire.

10 diggers of the same magnitude relative to active supply is mathematically impossible and it isn't even close. That would increase supply by 1.6^10 or around 100x, so 150 million coins. That's >10x more than the number of undug coins that even exist given the highest possible (unrealistic) estimate.

No, we realistically will probably see at most 1-2 more such big digs, or maybe none. It they do happen it will probably be at much higher prices (on the theory that past prices haven't been high enough to be noticed by potential big diggers, or possibly not high enough to motivate action), which is sort of desirable. It makes the supply elastic and the price less volatile.

You want more crazy pumps and dumps? Removing elasticity from the supply is a good way to do that.

Its really impossible to know for sure on both sides

I suggest voting for whatever makes the most sense

Kind of like beating a dead horse to argue back and forth without any real way of knowing

Vote and put this topic out of its misery one way or another!

It would be nice to hit 700 or above.

I hope the traders on rex or other bigger exchanges pick it up.

Looks like the only thing that has pick up this coin are the multipools and they have beat this coin down to nothing and the miner/multipool dumps are still coming.

Net Hashrate 9,076.25 MH/s

Should be good in a year or so if more adopt and it gets used like intended

This might sound like a stupid question but is it still possible to dig clams? Like is there still CLAMS out there to be found? Also if so how would one go about finding them?

Over 14 million still available give or take

If you controlled BTC, LTC or DOGE in May of last year, you can 'claim' by:

1. Download the client
2. Click File->Import wallet
3. Browse to your BTC, LTC or DOGE wallet.dat file.
4. Let the chain sync past block ~10,000

Recommended to make sure the wallet is (now) empty before doing this.

Yes good call

Changing the rules is bullshit - clam scammers unite and buy bitcoins now before its completely ruined

Be productive; or go somewhere else.

I am I have caucius coins and for every 1 I have 4.6 clams and you are treating to take my clams away from me.

It was described as fairest coin out there but looks like a ploy to protect a fews wealth will transferrign it to bitcoins now

Not sure if troll or what, but feel free to dig up your coins at any time. No one has changed anything about digging and if you do have undug clams (which I highly doubt) then you should be concerned as the rest of us about the future of this currency and get educated on the issues.

Wanna bet 1 BTC that I dont have undug clams?

http://casascius.uberbills.com  look at all these undug coins .

I bet if we hit $2000 acoin they will be open and more clams will be dug.

Dig them up and place your vote!
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Social Security Coin on: December 04, 2015, 08:32:38 PM
Introduction

Modern economic security of retirement benefits through Social Security is limited by the current objectives of political administrations traction through existing rules and regulations.   Member’s knowledge and resources are developed within federal budgeting and law concerning the program only after changes affect cost of living and other derivative adjustments through centralized banking mechanisms.

Decentralizing where the fund benefits are dispersed within federal budgeting, is what Social Security Coin transactions will modernize, with all aspects of purpose and potential otherwise, a digital blockchain offers.  Applying the cryptographically secure blockchain potential for all retirement insurance paid through this coins economy, is possible through digital decentralized participation making modern personal banking persistent with every users wallet and more so within an open fintech economic shift.

First, cryptographic signing proof of income, and proof of benefits, this coin publically secures participates interest in the benefits they direct, and vests that into modern financial vehicles.   Public verification of Social Security’s ability to maintain margins on cost of living for elderly participates prior to death is the first benefit that will come from this coin.   The next direct benefit is the amortization of inflationary fiat currency into a community sustainable peer to peer system.

Stay posted for more details.  Feel free to drop any suggestions below on how you think this coin should be staked, etc.

Sounds like a tall order

Waiting for more details

Well from personal experience with Sha-256 ASIC hardware I would safely say I'm all good now Grin

I have read reviews about the ThunderX3 and they are right that it sounds like an airplane taking off or even a leave blower due to the poor design of the fans Undecided But.... I read that you can replace them Smiley

Time to have a browse at my local PC parts store Tongue

Glad you figured it out

I used a Thunder x6 with a RPI for a while and it was noisy as hell

I would advise checking the power wires to the hashing boards to see how hot they get

I was always worried it would burn up some day

The x3 uses even more power

Hi,

We've added ORB to the miners multipool: www.zpool.ca

Cheers!

That is good news

Thank you!
438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to get Zeusminer ThunderX3 Scrypt ASIC mining ? on: December 02, 2015, 07:12:09 PM
Hey all I recently purchased a 2nd hand Zeusminer ThunderX3 Scrypt ASIC.

I have read all the setup guides and forum information regarding it and am stuck...

It starts but does the whole nounce2 thing and shows stats every 5 seconds with hashrate that slowly goes down and no accepted, rejected, WU or even HW errors... Huh

I have been trying with cgminer too btw.

Can anyone please help point me in the right direction to get this thing working properly ?

Running it on a RPI, windows or linux? Do you have the chip count and freq correct in the .bat file?

How much hash does a 750Ti get on Lyra2REv2?

I get between 5000 and 5500 depending on the card and overclock

I do agree with the sentiment that some have expressed that We Survived the Great Digging Panic of 2015 and with the right response that can make the coin stronger and more resilient. But then you still have some people approaching it more from a FUD perspective ("Okay, but what about the next whale digger?! zOMG!!"), sadly.

Why do you call that "FUD"? 94.5% of the initial distribution is still unclaimed. Are you arguing with that number, or you think it doesn't matter that this massive inflation we've just seen could happen again repeatedly in the future?

Of course I'm not arguing with the number, it is clearly correct. I'm suggesting that the context is very colored by not only the recent dig (which wasn't really out of line with previous "big digs") but by the panic it created.

There was no new information to come out of this latest experience, except the reaction of the community to it. Has the total supply changed? Did anyone doubt there were people out there with many addresses? Has the fundamental truth that the more coins are dug the fewer there are left to dig changed in any way? (BTW, the same can be said about "big digs" -- the more happen, the fewer can ever happen in the future.)

Quote
Before this whale digger appeared, around 72k old addresses had been dug up. That's 2.2% of the initial distribution.

Now that the whale digger has apparently finished, around 178k old addresses have been dug up. That's 5.5% of the initial distribution.

These numbers are misleading because of staking. The latest dig was only 60% of the active supply, not 150% of it. Future digs will be even smaller relative to active supply, both because more digging has already occurred but because staking will continue to dilute undug coins.

Its not possible to know future diggs will be smaller relative to the active supply unless someone knows something the rest of us do not.
