741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Discovered a new way to protect my Bitcoin on: October 17, 2023, 05:34:20 AM
I also have some "fly traps" placed randomly in the house, with baited bitcoin paper wallets.. to see if someone are searching for my stash. I regularly check those addresses to see if someone transferred those coins and if they are gone... then it triggers my first level of defense.  Wink

I am not storing my Bitcoin hoard at my house, because I know that will be the first place where I will be targeted, but the traps will tell me that someone are looking for it.  Grin Grin
742  Economy / Economics / Re: Young people needs productive mindset to be happy in life on: October 16, 2023, 07:32:47 AM
Yes, a lot has changed with the newer generation...

1. A lot of the younger generation think the world owe them something..... and they demand it.
2. The younger generation like to jump from one job to the next.. (job hoppers)
3. They are also studying longer and getting multiple qualifications. (multi skilled)
4. Technology are causing quick changes in the job opportunities, so they must keep up with the changes. (IT technology being one of the most extreme examples)
5. Long term loyalty and dedication to the job has been replaced by arrogance and self interest. (I see this every day, with the younger employees at my work... but there are exceptions)
6. After Covid, more people want to work from home or remotely and productivity has declined.
743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Drake's Curse. on: October 16, 2023, 07:20:31 AM
Now, the big question is this.... Is Drake being funded by Stake.com to make these huge bets, because he is an affiliate and a brand ambassador for Stake.com.  Huh

The same thing apply to his occasional gambling streams, where he gives away tons of money. It is one thing using your own money, but paid streamers are playing with casino money.

Will we ever know what happens behind closed doors.... right.  Tongue

744  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: October 16, 2023, 07:10:19 AM
A few weeks ago.. I asked Eddie during his stream.. to do something special for the Rugby World Cup and he said something big are being planned for the Rugby World Cup... but I have yet to see anything being posted.  Huh

I have watched all the games this weekend and it was riveting and adrenaline pumping Sport of the highest quality. They just finished the quarter final matches and the semi-finals are played next week.

Can the marketers do something special for the Rugby World Cup....... please?
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Distinguishing Between Bitcoin Halving And Crypto Burn on: October 16, 2023, 07:02:22 AM
Take a note, coin/token burning is temporary, while Bitcoin halving is always be like that and it's impossible to be changed. Since burning is temporary, it's really easy for the developer to mint new coin/token and add it into the circulation.

I'd say if the coin/token isn't a stablecoin, coin/token burning has nothing to achieve except the developer want to manipulate the market.

This is why all shitcoins are shit.... because it is so easy for these developers to manipulate the supply. This is not something that will easily happen with Bitcoin (BTC) ...because not a lot of the Bitcoin (BTC) miners will accept that.  Roll Eyes

We saw how hard the fight was with smaller changes in the past, now just imagine what will happen if the Bitcoin (BTC) developers wants to push an increase in the supply.  Roll Eyes
746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If not for Bitcoin on: October 16, 2023, 06:53:51 AM
Just remember one thing.... Centralized services are not Bitcoin.... these are profiteers of this technology and they could care less about it. Yes, it is convenient to use these services... and they helped a lot as an on-ramp for Bitcoin adoption, but that is the only advantage of having them.

They are huge honeypots for hackers and corrupt insiders to loot and the scandal that follow their collapse, influence everyone that are using this technology.  Angry
747  Economy / Economics / Re: Cracking the Code of Saving Money... on: October 15, 2023, 09:51:48 AM
The one thing that worked for me, was to avoid walking around in Malls (large shopping complex).. where there are a high concentration of merchants in close proximity. (The temptation is just too much, when you have shops all around you... with large signs that a showing massive discounts)  Roll Eyes

Also avoid buying the latest cellphones or competing with the Jones's ... because you over spend, when you try to compete with friends. I also reduced the money that I pend on takeaways ... by making my own "cheaper" food.  Grin Grin Cool
748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An agent is no where to be found. on: October 15, 2023, 09:44:43 AM
The reason for this is simple.... the smaller gambling shops or agents operate with small bankrolls, so they do not have a lot of funds to payout large wins. They will then close shop and move to another area, where they will start taking bets again... until someone bet large amounts or win large amounts and then they run again.

This is why I am not signing up with smaller casinos, because they do the same thing.... "fly-by-night" operations. I will fist see what other people experience and then when I see that the casino honor their withdrawals, then I will create an account.  Wink
749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you not gamble on women sports? (tennis not included) on: October 15, 2023, 09:35:45 AM
Yes, I actually asked the same question when it was the Women's Cricket World Cup.... because it was very good quality Sport. I watched most of the matches and I could hardly find any Sports book that offered bets on the Women's Cricket World Cup.  Roll Eyes

I think the decision makers make their decisions, based on the viewership, so the more people watching.... the higher the probability that people would bet on it.  Roll Eyes
750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting - Asian Market on: October 15, 2023, 09:29:28 AM
How do you mean? "Gambling sites that are not linked to Asia"... can have several meanings...

1. They are not owned and operated by Asian people?
2. They do not host any Sports that are played in Asia?
3. They do not report to the authorities in Asia?

So, please elaborate a bit more on what you want, because that will help us to give you more accurate information on your questions.  Wink
751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cross addictions is Just as Bad. on: October 13, 2023, 12:21:18 PM
I cannot see that gaming on a PS4 can be seen as an addiction.... yes, it might take his mind off from gambling and also time away from doing something more productive or healthy, but it is still a kind of entertainment.  Roll Eyes

You have to remember that gambling addiction is a complex thing, with most of the addicts having more than one problem. They might have financial problems, hoping that a BIG Jackpot will solve that issue... or they might struggle with alcohol problems and gambling take away their urge to drink. (thinking of something else)

Replacing one addiction with another addiction is worst, so people should be looking for healthier and more productive alternatives. (Joining social groups / starting a new hobby / joining a Gym etc...)
752  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: October 13, 2023, 12:11:04 PM
Weird. Stunna just bought a yacht for $41.3 million
Where you got this info? Is there any problem if Stunna buy a yacht? Anyway, I hope Eddie won't delay to give the monthly bonus again. There could be a Halloween bonus at the end of this month. So, I'm expecting the monthly bonus before the 15th day of October month.

stake got hacked for $41.3 million. hence it was a joke..... or was it

No, it was not a joke... Eddie told the whole story about a North Korean hacker group, getting past several levels of Stake's security measures and stealing $40 000 000+  Angry

The sad thing is.... Stake just adjust the RTP on their games a little and "poof" ...money back in their pockets ....and guess who is paying that back in the long run.  Roll Eyes

I have no problem with Stunna and Eddie buying luxury houses and yacht, they worked hard for it and they still do... so leave them to enjoy their profits.
753  Economy / Economics / Re: Are short-term rentals to blame for the lack of housing? on: October 13, 2023, 06:48:34 AM
Can you blame people for trying to make an extra income, during a time where everything are becoming more and more expensive these days.  Huh The Airbnbs in my country are being taxes by the local government as a business, so they are paying higher local rates, than people that are using their house as a primary residence.  Roll Eyes

This is done, because Hotels and Guesthouses are suffering to keep their doors open..... and also to slow down the Airbnbs that are popping up like mushrooms. (the rates are much higher when you operate a business)  Tongue
754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Lightning Network Growth 1212% in the last 2 years on: October 13, 2023, 06:34:01 AM
Well, it can be one of several things...

Lightning Network transactions are very cheap, compared to normal transactions on the Blockchain.... so people see this as a viable alternative to traditional payment options and they are actually using it as a currency... OR

The transactions are cheap and someone are "cooking" the statistics by making MANY transactions to distort the real picture.

I hope this is "real" world use and not some hidden agenda that are being pushed, by the people who wants to boost the LN technology.  Roll Eyes
755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how many halvings have you witnessed? on: October 13, 2023, 05:31:36 AM
I have been experiencing it for many years and every year it is the same...... the hype starts a month or two before the actual event and it gets a lot of attention prior to the actual event, which means that the interest in Bitcoin increase and the price also going up.. before... the Halving occur.

This will only happen, if there are no other negative event that might cancel that affect on the price. There is also not a significant increase in the price.... so do not expect fireworks.  Roll Eyes
756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 12, 2023, 01:27:58 PM
We do not know the whole picture, but it might be that they are sharing wins.... when someone in the group wins something big and he obviously wants to avoid contact with them, because he does not want to share with them.  Roll Eyes

I am also part of a small group of gamblers, who belongs to a WhatsApp gambling group.... where we all try to win against the house and when someone win big, we drop some tips to the people who did not win. (Nobody are running away from sharing, when they win... because they know that their luck might run out and then they want the others to share)

So, pay it forward when you win..... and you will get rewarded ...when you are against the ropes.  Cool
757  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best Parlay Bets for this upcoming weekend in all sports areas on: October 12, 2023, 01:20:23 PM
I love to parlay bets ....and I think this weekends Rugby World Cup matches are going to be riveting. I am going for a WALES win against Argentina and IRELAND winning New Zealand and ENGLAND obviously winning against Fiji and SOUTH AFRICA winning the host nation France.

I normally do not bet on more than 5 matches or fights in the UFC, because it gets too risky, the more you add to your multi bets. Well, I am not 100% sure about Ireland vs All Blacks... but the rest should pan out for me.  Wink
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to keep safe the mnemonic phrase - Whats Your method? on: October 12, 2023, 05:41:25 AM
I have two methods :

I have laminated pieces of paper stored in secret places that are safe against theft and natural disasters. (high and dry and capsuled) AND I encrypted the phrases and split them up and stored them in online storage. (Only people close to me, will be able to decrypt the riddle I encrypted) ....and I left clues to it's location.

We decided to take the responsibility of storing our wealth on our own, so it is our responsibility to keep it safe. (We live in times of war and natural disasters, so we should step up and adapt to the changing times)  Wink
759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you ever feel tired of waiting? on: October 12, 2023, 05:31:33 AM
We all accepted that Bitcoin is a long-term investment, if you decide to hodl it. So, you cannot expect it to deliver within a year or two of you buying those bitcoins.

There were times where I waited 3 to 4 years for Bitcoin to recover to the price where I bought it at and then it suddenly shot up in price, giving me 800% profit.... so it will reward the strong hands.  Cool

Just buy and forget about it..... and when the price goes to the new all-time-high (ATH) .....reap the rewards.  Grin
760  Economy / Economics / Re: It doesn't increase purchasing power on: October 11, 2023, 06:30:49 AM
In what fantasy world are you living, where Banks will be profitable by giving interest free loans? That business model will destroy the Banking system and the world economy, because Banks cannot operate without some interest being paid on loans.  Tongue

The problem is..... most interest charged by Banks and financial institutions are way too high and people are pushed into long-term debt as a result of that. Also, non-payment of the debt is also profitable for these Banks, because assets are repossessed and sold for a profit. (Debt has become a commodity that are sold to debt collectors... so Banks and other financial businesses are still profiting from the non-payment of these loans)  Roll Eyes
