Any info on the fans in the SP30? model#?
If you are asking because of noise, the PSU fans are what creates most of the noise in these units. The sp30 is a little less loud than the sp10, and the sound quality is very different, it is less of a high-pitched whine.

I think there is a strong argument (atleast at the moment) to make for early S3 adoption: profitability.
So far every earlier batch was more profitable than the later one.
This is due to bitmain having a certain production cost of miners and shipping expenses, and they obviously want some profit on top of that too.
They therefore cannot lower their price indefinately, and the price is also lowered slower than mining with the unit makes you profit.

You will get around 10% lower hashrate at 120V compared to 240V.
As far as I know you donīt need to do anything fancy to use it on 120V.

@Roadstress
Is your sp30 at ThorDC online yet?
If not, just spam them until you get your setup fee removed and your miner online.

@marvell1
That is a misconception.
What matters is $/GH and operational costs aka $/GH/m.
Increasing the hashrate lowers $/GH and can lead to a faster ROI, especially if your $/GH/m is low (aka 5ct/kW/h including hosting).

@Zvisha
Is there another, more powerfull power supply with the same pin arrangement?

The BitFury 3500BF is under 1$/GH but it is not sold individually.
They are either shipped to hosting facility owners / operators with atleast 0.5-1MW of capacity and mining profit is shared between bitfury group and the datacenter operator, or sold at around a moq of 100 units.
Peta-Mine has bought above 1 PH of these units at around 1.7$/GH around 2-3 months ago. They were shipped within a few weeks and my understanding is that bitfury group ships these as in-stock products on a PH magnitude.

I can only tell you this from my personal experience, but I have already received 125% of my paid btc back from my mining contract.
I also know of nobody who wasnīt paid their owed reward from mining on any of the weekly paydays.
Also, ebay uses paypal and obviously has the ability to follow the money trail to almost any person that sells with them.

Sidehack hosts miners for 98$/kW/m.
He might be a little busy at the moment with building the 2000W breakout boards.

Godammit I just realized I missed payment for last month, is there a possibility to get contact Stunna and get paid for it, even if it is over 400? It would help me and Collider's situation alot.
I donīt think I was over 400 (constructive) posts within the last 1.5 months, but I was a bit late to request payment.
|
|
|
Uh okay, well the signature is applied to all posts retroactively anyway so I guess there is not a big difference.
Stunna could comment on how he sees this.
What happens if you forget to collect payment say for an additional month?
Will all the constructive posts in that two-month period be paid after requesting it through the form (if it doesnīt exceed 400 posts...?)
|
|
|
what do I have to do if I enrolled as a member and was just upgraded to full member?
Should I immidiatly get the better signature?
Do I need to re-enroll and choose full member as my status?
Change the signature and do nothing. You don't have to re-enroll. During enrollment, you do not specify your rank. Ah okay. I just requested payout for the last period, should I wait until I get paid? Does Stunna automatically know when I was upgraded?

Arenīt you supposed to limit the sp10 PSU to 1260?
On SP10. On SP30 the unit "learns" the PSU, so you can set initial value to 1360 (that is how we ship them). The unit will settle around 1320, depending on temperature. Does it recheck for this value? What happens if it is 10°C cooler during nighttime? Would the amount of available 12V power increase if you put it onto a 252V circuit? Will a cooler ambient temperature increase PSU performance?

Dogie got his sp10 for free though, so he shouldnīt be hurting too much.
If bitmain doesnīt come up with their S4 (likely around 0.55W/GH at the wall) too soon and in massive volume (and awfully cheap too), my guess is that all current sp30 customers should get a good bang for their buck.
|
|
|
What happend with all the shipping products? They don't ship there own products anymore? all hosting?
All miner are hosted at their "cloud" You can't get physical miner and must pay for monthly hosting fee - that is not public. monthly hosting fee will be show after you order miner Monthly hosting fee is around 75$/kW/m, which is very fair. You can also always get your unit shipped after one month of free hosting.
|
|
|
There are pros and cons for both miners.
Antminers ship faster but use more power and you need to add PSU costs, and you will likely have a mess of cables.
Sp30s use less power and take up less space, no additional PSUs required, but they ship later (as they are sold out for this month) and are more noisy. This makes the sp30 cheap to host for example at jtoomimīs facility for 90-70$/kW/m.
|
|
|
I donīt think there will be a user interface, you will just have to set it up via email.
If you need a custom user-interface, hashplex is probably the way to go, but they only sell 1 year minimum hosting contracts.
Jtoomimīs facility can also port-forward your minerīs browser configuration page, so you will have direct control over the unit if you decide to host one there. (It should also be cheaper)

Why did you limit PSU to 1260?
