7661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer X3 on: October 20, 2019, 08:37:52 PM
Qwertycoin and Dero still rocks the original cryptonight algorithm which ASICs like X3 can mine.
You can give them a try but the profitability will be negative for sure.

thanks - i will forego it then, i am not looking to run in the negative.
7662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Bitmain Antminer X3 on: October 20, 2019, 07:41:03 PM
I recently got a hold of an Antminer X3 - are these still usable? I do not do a lot of asic mining for altcoins - 99% of my altcoin mining is using gpu rigs where my asic mining is either SHA-256 or Scrypt.

I am curious if there are still pools where the X3 can still mine. any insight is appreciated.
7663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: FutureBit Apollo Scrypt miner on: October 20, 2019, 05:18:43 PM

Thanks for the answer .. another question ...

is it possible to connect to any pool and undermine any coin with the same "algo scrypt" ??

Thanks in advance....

I do not know what you mean by “undermine” you can mine any coin/pool that is rhe same algo - which for this miner is scrypt
7664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: FutureBit Apollo Scrypt miner on: October 20, 2019, 01:02:11 PM
hello dear, I have the possibility to buy it in EU for 350 € ..

I wanted to know if there is really the possibility of earning something ... as with me the cost of the current is € 0.21 (kw / h) and therefore I have to be on very low hardware as consumption, for home, I wanted to know if it's worth it or not .. thanks to all .. hello forum ...

this is a hobby miner not a money maker. The only real chance of making money with it is if you solo mine and get lucky enough to hit a block. mining with it in a pool will not make your ROI unless you mine now and hold the coins until they later increase in value.

having processed dozens of transactions using flyp.me - I am glad I have seen this now and will no longer use their services - even though they have not cheated me directly - I do not like the way they are handling these cases of holding people's funds.
7666  Other / Meta / Re: Fake Bitcointalk forum Warning on: October 20, 2019, 03:15:28 AM
Looks like the login and register buttons lead to BitcoinTalk? This shouldn't be such a big issue (at least for now). Just like BitcoinTalk.to which AFAIK only showed ads and his captcha didn't work, so no one could try to login or register.

their site could have some code that copies login info - so while directing back to here, they then get our credentials perhaps.

[...]

I apologize if I did not list you specifically but I did state that the ideas were not mine alone and were listed by other users previously in this same thread.

So either they are trying to be deceptive for some reason or their representative here is misinformed. Very strange.

I think their hash power is more closer to 1,400 PH as shown on btc.com explorer.
7669  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NovaBlock, The Most Profitable Mining Pool on: October 19, 2019, 05:51:58 PM
would be nice to mention some of the ideas i had,   ie  block found indicator on graph,  update worker refresh area ,  add other graphing options ect ...

I mentioned some of what you said in another post above Smiley
7670  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NovaBlock, The Most Profitable Mining Pool on: October 19, 2019, 03:42:43 AM
I think the main issue is that the pool is showing their hashrate as around 700 PH - while block explorer show pool hash rate as being around 1400 PH - I believe their block finding rate and luck are appropriate for a pool the size of 1,400 PH.

https://btc.com/stats/pool/NovaBlock

NovaBlock has stated they have 700 PH of their own - my guess is the website is reflecting only the miners and does not include the 700 PH that NovaBlock also has mining.

Wow, just received an email sent from 419mining at 3:48pm to let me know that the r606 is now back in stock, only to log on to 419 at 6:58pm after seeing the email to find that they are once again out of stock!  Popular little beasts, aren't they.  Guess I'll have to shop around to find one now.  Keep up the great work guys!

could be that they sent the email before their website has been updated.
7672  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NovaBlock, The Most Profitable Mining Pool on: October 18, 2019, 02:17:33 AM
having now completed 30 days - here is my final review. Many of the things I will say have also been said above by others, so I apologize for any repetition.

I agree with Kano that with a low fee that the pool does risk going broke if the reserves are not sufficient, NovaBlock states that this is not an issue:

We have multiple avenues of business such as: consulting, own/operate mining farms, design and construction of mining farms, hardware sales and more. In addition to this, we have strong financial backing so the risk of us going broke is very low.

Some proof of that backing would still be nice.

I like that they added a referral program, though it is only for miners with 5 PH or more.

Referrals
At NovaBlock, we strive to make everyone as profitable as possible and spread the wealth! This is why we are now excited to introduce the new NovaBlock Referral Program (NRP).

To spread the name of NovaBlock to everyone we are offering a reward for anyone that introduces new clients to our pool. Please let me know if you're interested in joining this program.

As we roll this out initially, we will focus mainly on referrals with greater than 5 PH. This is to ensure that we do not receive too much volume where we can't keep up/keep track of payments and referrals. We will slowly decrease the minimum size referral as we get more comfortable and streamline this system.

PM here if you are interested and we can send you a contract. Smiley

And that they are adding Merged Mining (looks to be NMC based on rewards page showing NMC up near top right)

Merged Mining
We have heard your feedback, our goal is to make mining as simple and profitable as possible.
We will have an exciting announcement regarding merged mining coming soon in the next week or two. Look forward to it Smiley

The hashrate on the stats page - can that be verified? Up above, NovaBlock states they have 700 PH of their own hashing power on the pool - the page is showing that the pool has 715 PH (at this moment) does that mean that there are only 15 PH worth of miners here? While entirely possible, I would like that clarified. Mainly due to that the amount of blocks being reported as found by pool greatly exceeds the expected amount of blocks based on reported hashrate.

My suggestions for the website:

  • Add a PPLNS - very little risk here for the pool as payments are only made to miners if the pool finds a block.
  • Have auto-refresh enabled on the worker page
  • Add block notifications with stats (hash rate/diff) This could be done on the graph on the dashboard or at least listed on a separate area
  • Add options to the dashboard graphs that allow users to change date/time ranges
  • Add other stats such as CDF, show pool luck over past 25, 50, 100, 250 blocks, maybe show which miner actually "found" the block

I have used their app as well since mining here - love the app, no complaints at all with the app.

Here is my final comparison on per TH rates as I compared them to ViaBTC.  NovaBlock did come in as a bit more profitable but only by about 1.5%, which would be due to my 0% fee for these 30 days - had they been charging me the 2.5% fee rate that they are currently advertising, ViaBTC would have been almost 1% higher. This is not a huge amount by any means. But with more hashing power it could easily add up.

hey Stryfe, mind sending me a PM so we can resolve your issue together please? thanks.

not sure why the question cannot simply be answered here but pm sent.
7677  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ⛏️ Poolin ⛏️ Bitcoin Mining | FASTEST Growing Pool | FPPS ⛏️ on: October 17, 2019, 03:46:50 AM
so if i was mining LTC and I had it set to "settle to BTC" but then later turned that off, the balance that is unpaid, will it combine/pay if I mine BTC? or is the only way to get that payout to set it back to "settle to BTC" and mine LTC that way until the balance reaches .005 BTC?
7678  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NovaBlock, The Most Profitable Mining Pool on: October 16, 2019, 03:18:39 AM
I agreed to do 30 days and I will honor that. I do like that they are US based but I am only finding them to be more profitable simply because I have zero fees. My 30 days are nearly up and I will most likely be transitioning from the pool as soon as I hit the payment threshold after the 30 day mark.
7679  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 252 blocks solved! on: October 16, 2019, 03:12:52 AM
well, as long as I can make a small profit and even if i go negative - as long as its not extreme negative - each month, I will keep on going. I quit mining back in '11 and I kick myself every day for that. I wont be quitting this go around Smiley

I may even dump all my hash either here or at kano after the first until halving. we shall see.
7680  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 252 blocks solved! on: October 16, 2019, 12:55:59 AM

what I dont get is why your pool mining isnt larger - you are a zero fee there right? would think that would be huge!

Multiple reasons, but it's proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's not fee that determines where people mine.

Inertia.
Size attracts more size.
Advertising.
Size attracts more size.
Fancy shit webshites.
Size attracts more size.
Deals with big miners.
Size attracts more size.
Trust perception (haha)
Size attracts more size.
Preconfigured pool defaults by mining companies
Size attracts more size.

You probably get the picture by now what is the most important factor, right?

size right? lol I get that. but for me it is just about trying to earn as much bitcoin as I can while needing to cash out only what I need to pay the electric so sadly that keeps me stuck mostly to the larger PPS pools so I can get regular payouts.

I loved Kano's when it was 200 ph - I would love it even more on yours if you had the size as well. But I cannot pay the bills with months between blocks - I just am not that large or have pockets that deep - sadly. I am also at my lowest hashrate ever right now, having just around 64 TH total. I hope to be back over 100 TH before the end of the year and hopefully up to 200 TH by the halving.
