and that is what is keeping me from ordering even though I want new gear Sad

Thanks for sharing. So, 100% ASIC expert we’ve got here! Smiley

I’m still learning but recently became interested in privacy coins - before that invested some big money on ETH mining stuff which not happy with my decision. Didn’t do my homework enough! Grin

Running nodes is a nice thing to do. I‘m going to do the same soon with other coins too.

lol no expert but been mining for a while started originally back around 2010/2011 - stopped for a while and then started back near end of 2017/start of 2018.
7023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: April 30, 2020, 04:09:38 AM

It’s probably a personal question so feel free to ignore  Grin but what are your other fav coins out there?

Again, I understand it’s a private matter - so my apologies in advance. Smiley

nah i dont mind. currently mining dash, verge, litecoin, doge, litecoin cash, digibyte and bitcoin.

though I dont keep any real quantity of anything but doge and bitcoin.

the others are just ways to make revenue. Just started with giving verge a go at it today.

in the past i have mined bitcoin cash, monero, ethereum, ravencoin, x0, digital note and a handful of others that all get sold rather quickly.

I dont like to keep the alt coins but I like supporting crypto in general and that is why I run as many nodes as I can.
7024  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S17+ and T17+ on: April 30, 2020, 04:05:45 AM
except by going over 800 - even the jump in btc price doesnt compensate for the tariff expense.
7025  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S17+ and T17+ on: April 30, 2020, 01:29:28 AM
ouch so they jacked the price up again.
7026  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1]. New release includes AsicBoost on: April 30, 2020, 12:52:32 AM
just seems that it is a tiny bit hypocritical to say the funding from the dev fee is to further the open source nature of the whole thing when its not fully open sourced.

but that is my opinion.

Hi there ^^
I'm probably the 26 or 27.. from Tahiti, in the middle of nowhere Cheesy  Grin
I had to open the port manually.
My internet connection is full ahahah (got also few L3+ and S9 running) (1mo/s dowload max - 150/200 ko/s upload max, but it works Cheesy )
Just to tell those who hesitate because it looks complicated, don't hesitate anymore, if a noob like me gets there, it's within everyone's reach!

I have a little question, in few days i'm about to download another node from another project coming in phase 2 ..
wouldn't it be better to have a second connection ?

Happy mining and "nodeing" to everyone,
Take care all of you

if you are asking about running multiple nodes for different projects that should not be an issue. I have close to 12 different nodes running now. I am currently loading a verge node even as I type this.

the only real disappointing thing is that my Apollo will never find a block lol its best share ever is less than 5,000 so no where near the share needed to find a block. but it mines great on a pps pool, I will just never go solo with it.

I found a block last month. Ok that's a lot of luck and probably won't find another, but I did find one!

I also found a block last year, at Litecoinpool  Wink.

Yea Litecoin is in a nice spot for solo mining right now with how low its diff is. If all Apollos are currently mining litecoin, there should be about one Apollo user finding a block every day.

That might be a fun update...build a website that keeps track of all blocks found by users Smiley

that would be cool though my apollo will never be on it lol I am using Awesome miner to get my best share - is it possible that AM reports the best share wrong?
7029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: April 29, 2020, 11:52:38 AM
LoL I cant help but see it - it sits right on my desk and its in AM so any time I look at any of my miners, I see all my miners Smiley

I hear you! It’s in miner’s DNA!

Addictive too!

I actually check my GPU based rigs to squeeze every bit extra hash possibly can!! It’s like a never ending adventure!

ASICs, you just set them up and done - as far as I can tell!!

with my asics, i am always checking their temps, changing the voltage to see if i can get higher hash without critical temps, trying other coins within their algo, trying different pools etc etc
7030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: April 29, 2020, 02:33:28 AM

Its all luck when it comes to good shares. 2 days is not much of a sample size. For example one of my test units has been up for 44 days...its best share is 78k.

oh for sure, my best share since I bought it is less than 5k - have not ever had a higher share on litecoin. have been on 4 or 5 pools with it.

note: it has found almost a dozen digibyte blocks though.

how and were are u mining Digibyte,... With the apollo?

I mined dgb on gos.cx here is a shot today of it on gos.cx  though lately - dgb diff has skyrocketed so its not doing well there atm - so i moved it back to pps on litecoinpool.org - I did the below just now to get the screenshot for you.

edit:

btw has anyone gotten this? where it shows it mining multiple pools with full hash and getting shares at both?

7031  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S17+ and T17+ on: April 29, 2020, 01:59:55 AM
Since I don't manufacture mining gears and I don't get paid to shill other mining equipment, my view is 100% unbiased, but by all means, go ahead buy whatever gears you want. Roll Eyes

I don't manufacture or get paid to shill other so my opinion is also 100% unbiased. I simply put my experience down. I am sure a large farm would yield different results as they have more machines and thus more chances of failure.

but is there an issue with people sharing their experience?
7032  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S17+ and T17+ on: April 28, 2020, 11:52:58 PM
I have had 4 T17's, 20 S9's (4 vanilla 8 i's and 8 j's), 2 S15's, 1 L3, 3L3+'s, 4 L3++'s, 1 D3 and even though that is not a lot of miners (35) I have only ever sent one back and it was a vanilla S9.

edit: I forgot to add one more S9 that I picked up from a garage sale for $20 - it had burnt connectors on the hashboard (the little plastic part has those dividers in between the pins - those were melted) and a bad psu (the wires had somehow melted and shorted out, I believe that is what lead to the burnt/melted connectors on the hash boards) but the miner and psu still worked once I swapped the psu wires and the burnt connectors.

which scrypt coin were you mining?

Litecoin

nice! I cannot get mine to get a decent share ever. its currently been on line for 2d 1h 52m and best share is 3,074 - needed is 5,867,504.3 or thereabouts

I don’t check anything LTC related!! Cool

Just left my Apollo and those 10 something Moonlander 2 running. If they crash or something, pool sends me email and I go see what has gone wrong!

My order just flipped from showing the 27th for delivery to showing "pending" with no further info. My guess is next Monday.
7039  Economy / Goods / Re: Rural Land In Navajo County, AZ for homesteading. $2500 (0.33 bitcoin) 7.5 acres on: April 28, 2020, 05:07:40 AM
can you post the geographical coordinates?

if you click his link and put in the parcel number it gives them to you.

where exactly? I've got the parcel info on the county page, not seeing latitude and longitude on any of that data. thanks.

if you open up the map part it has it, but he just posted it as well.
7040  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Used Antminer S17 Pro - Having issues and PO finally said he had it plugged 120v on: April 28, 2020, 05:06:41 AM
well especially as an s17 requires two 220v/240v lines - he was doing 2 110v/120v lines so he was really cutting it short.
