When it wants you to save and restart after changing auto settings I get a spinning wheel for about 30 sec then I get miner is offline message. Red light consistently stays on. Doesn't look like it actually reboots.

does it ever go back to the dashboard? or you have to shut it down and turn it back on to get to the dashboard?

if so, what does it do if you just turn it on and leave it alone? dashboard stays up but miner is not mining?
7762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: September 20, 2019, 02:22:03 AM
Yes connected by cable and dashboard comes up

so it connects to miner, does dashboard show whether pools are active? show any hash rate? have you tried setting everything to auto setting wise? have you tried all 3 modes?

sorry if I am asking dumb questions - just trying to get the full picture.
7763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: September 20, 2019, 02:10:26 AM
Thanks. I did that as well as setting the fan speed to 25% I think I saw in another post.

ah darn. it is always nice when it is an easy fix. hope yours still ends up being an easy fix.

are you using it via wifi? or via the cable?

if you are able to remote into the dashboard, I doubt its an internet connection issue.

Apollo was working fine for a few days. Decided to take it to work and couldn't figure out how to get it connected to work network. Brought it back home now just gets a solid red light when it powers up. Any idea whats happening?

check the micro SD card. when mine was a steady red light, I removed the card and reinserted - it worked fine after that.

it was every 1 second but it was performing well so i turned freq back down to 550 guess i cant be at the 1 th rate.
7766  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain to release S17E 64TH on: September 19, 2019, 09:54:23 PM
so yea, 2 T17's per circuit then right? iirc T17's are right around 10 amp's each.
7767  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: September 19, 2019, 09:51:48 PM
here is a question. My miner lights are not staying on the current setting (setting 6) instead it flashes 6 then it flashes 1 - it has been doing this for about an hour. it is currently hashing at about 874.6 gh/s at 643.75 freq (which is the freq I have it set to in cg miner)

so the question is this: why is it the setting changing? or is it even? and should I have any concern?

Also need to know what gauge wire runs those circuits.  Some people don't always wire to code. (Me for example).

I only have an 8' run from the breaker box, which eases resistance, so i was able to run 12ga wire which I had laying around, to 3 outlets per circuit, two circuits.   So I can pull a constant 16amps per circuit safely, with no worries, and still be 'technically ok' to 20a.   So I can run 3 units.  Anymore and my wire run the risk of glowing.

But, knowing we have a Y-plug available, if I run more circuits in the future, I can wire less outlets to a circuit. And that's where I get my fingers chewed up.

without pulling the paperwork to verify and going off of memory, I would have to say the wire is 10 gauge
7769  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain to release S17E 64TH on: September 19, 2019, 07:38:04 PM
my circuits are 30 amps currently with 4 outlets on each circuit so 4 might be too much maybe 2 17's and 2 s9's Smiley
7770  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain to release S17E 64TH on: September 19, 2019, 02:33:07 PM
ahh - I need to look into that Y splitter - I could run 20 of the 17's vs 10 of them, as I am running power wires from two outlets. I installed a switch that shuts both on/off at the same time and they are the same circuit so if the breaker blows there is no issue with powering one and not the other  but the splitter would allow me to run quite a few more.
7771  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain to release S17E 64TH on: September 19, 2019, 12:13:12 PM
I think you pretty much got the difference - it will be slightly slower but will have a lower efficiency as well. That said, all my 15's and 17's are T versions. For me, the small difference in efficiency does not make up for the price difference when the prices are 50% higher for the S versions.

My goal is to increase my hash rate but to also make ROI as quickly as I can. The extra efficiency do not always make for a faster ROI when the price is higher beyond a certain point. AT least that is how I justify whether I buy the T version or the S version.

Has any one web dashboard ever not load? It was working fine but then the IP address got changed , I put that address in the browser and just get a blank white page.

if the ip address changed - you need to put in the new address to get to the dashboard.

Yeah i put in the new address the tab explains what the page should be but all i get is a blank page

edit. I can see the dashboard on my phone so that a plus but i wonder why I can't on my PC hmm...

have you tried to clear your cache? if you are entering the same ip address on your phone while it is connected to the same network as your pc is, then it should work.
Yup cleared it my browsers on my pc are probably just bugged they will more than likely fix themselves its not a problem since i am still mining just weird

let us know when/if it changes.
7773  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NovaBlock, The Most Profitable Mining Pool on: September 19, 2019, 02:20:57 AM
So ... how much you paying Phil to get him to convince people from other pools to come here? Smiley

you tend to be right about a lot of things but why the need to constantly attack everyone/anyone that does not use your pool? I love your pool but have to mine elsewhere as I dont have the reserves to go 2 months with no blocks. sorry. That being said, I am going to toss a T15 on Nova and see how it goes.
7774  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Terminus R606 on: September 19, 2019, 01:48:09 AM
yes - essentially cgminer is restarting - kind of like hitting reboot on a S9, I would think.

maybe it is the app but a normal conversation is rated to be at 60 dB and I can tell you my ASICs are way over normal conversation level - they are loud enough that I wear ear plugs if I am staying in the building long enough.

according to the CDC a whisper is 30 dB - https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/hearing_loss/what_noises_cause_hearing_loss.html

I will also say that the Apollo miner is louder than the R606 - and is actually nearly as loud as a S9 when its on turbo.

I will look into getting an actual dB meter for future reviews and will update the ones I have done as well once I get one.

Does your app have the ability to reset to 0 with ambient and then where you turn on miner and get reading? If I set my phone on my desk at work, it reads anywhere from 45 to 62 dB - at home, where it is a bit more quiet, it reads between 25-30 dB with the miners off (I have 2 on my desk)

I thought about rear fans but I do not really see the need, my R606 feels like an ice cube to the touch.

I would not be able to sleep with this in the room - the noise while very low is still discernible to me and with the flashing light as well, it would drive me crazy if I was trying to sleep.
7779  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Terminus R606 on: September 18, 2019, 05:36:49 PM
When I check the sound levels on my 2 R606's along with 2 usb fans attached to them, 2 additional usb fans over my  4newpacs that sits beside them, the tiny fans attached to 2 futurebit moon landers,  and a 1930's F. A. Smith Artic Aire Table Fan sitting directly by it as well on high, my readings are 30 db.  If I turn my 1930's fan off the readings drop to 22 db.   What else do you have running in the room you have these miners at?   Mine are setup in my home office and are quiet as a mouse.

What's sad,  I have another Raspberry Pi 4 that I typically use as a desktop replacement (try to limit my gaming rig to just that, gaming instead of day to day tasks) so that I conserve a bit more energy, with the fan on high on my Pi 4, that's louder than my mining setup  Grin

do your readings negate the ambient noise? and how close is your device doing the reading? I am laying mine essentially right against the miner but I also have ambient noise - it reads at almost 25 dB if the miner is off.
It also could just be that the app I am using (its on my iPhone) is a POS that returns erroneous readings.
7780  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Terminus R606 on: September 18, 2019, 03:30:09 PM
Yea, my GPUs are way louder than the r606 at my workstation.

I think the hard part is that I am not in a sound proof room with only the miner - so the readings have to be understood that ambient noise is also present. but that is also why I try and stick the mic right on the exit point.
