784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SRC] SecureCoin | A Fast and Secure Version of Bitcoin | Multi Algorithm on: August 27, 2013, 09:12:57 PM
Launch will be tomorrow (Wednesday) at 8 PM UTC time. An alternative launch time if that causes too much conflict is Friday at 1 PM UTC.

I will have a guide and the QT ready. Although I'm sure someone will make a better guide.

The details of the ascending rewards will be posted shortly. That is the final decision to be made.

let me ask the question again.

Even though you're basing it on BTC, the new hash algorithms introduced that make it a CPU only coin will not allow the use of any of the regular BTC miners, correct? If so, is the client the only way to mine SRC until changes are introduced to one of the current BTC CPU miners? Is this correct?
BTC miners can only hash sha256 and since he says in the OP it is using multiple hash algorithms so a bitcoin minder will not work.

that's what I thought, so we're limited to mine on the QT

We are running a Slogan Contest with a 6969 SXC prize at..

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=281272.0

And there is a 100 SXC giveaway, compliments of Zack here..

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=281109.0

But there doesn't seem to be much interest.

give them a way to spend them and they will rush. This is why an exchange and exclusive porno sites to spend them are dam important. If the sites take other alt coins there's no reason for anyone to buy sxc

WOW, huge hash jump. You guys ready to announce something?

10,000kh is me there is now a forum and I have paid for a 10,000 SXC giveaway  with 90,000 more over the next few weeks

we should join the p2p pool as there's no one there and is becoming hard to solo, making it hard for new miners to join. I'm going there now with 2 meg

I need all the coins I can get as I am giving 1 block each to 1000 people

you get the same coins regardless if solo or pooling. Its just for people with 4 or 500 k they'll see a block every few hours and end up giving up. Working pools are essential on a coin success

totally not true you end up with less coins overall I have tested it many times with many coins and its a lot easyer to solo mine on multiple rigs as I already have it all set just 1 click

Right now it only takes 40m to find a block with 500kh so its not to bad

most pools are run by sleazy operators and I don't believe that is the case in here. At the current hash it will take you over 8 days to get those 1000 blocks. So good luck and hope no more miners join in attracted by the hash rise. I'll keep the p2p pool running to attract more miners

Which Pool ?

http://sexcoin.lavajumper.com:9699/static/index.html

let me be more specific. I don;t run the pool, lavajamper is, but a pool close to zero Ks is a dead pool and noone joins in

@Timelord2067

I just read over your portableApps description. That's an excellent idea!
Just put it on a jump drive and plug it in  Shocked

Many thanks for your positive feedback, just one point,

What about the files written to the C:\Users\(blah)\AppData\Roaming\Sexcoin directory?

The subtlety of PortableApps is they are written to a directory on the external drive (which means the PA version needs to be configured to ensure these files aren't left behind on a host computer - you don't want to leave part of your wallet/earnings on someone else's computer)

Regards,

haven't read your description, so forgive me if i assume something wrong. But my idea of a portable app would be to store the client on the USB drive that gets executed on plug in. The USB drive would also store the "db", peers data, etc. I believe QT has to call the windows API GetSpecialFolderPath. Just search the code and replace. Also do not write into the LOG by default or you'll run out of space rather fast.
797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange with ZERO FEES for beta on: August 22, 2013, 11:15:13 AM
GoldCoin (GLD) is now listed. Mining pool is also up.

and when are you adding SXC?

Perhaps it would be better to wait... Theres things I can't say, but everybody knows we are working on a new client. We've put our heads together and we want to give the new client features that a cryptonerd would find underwhelming, but the webcam girls we are now consulting with find quite useful and exciting. Anybody can bring out a coin, and beg an exchange to take it and have it listed in a few days. To create a coin that has utility, and therefore value in the real world takes a lot of work and forethought, and time in development.

Last time I posted in this thread we were at 8.5M/h now we are at 12-15 M/h. We are growing not dying, and we are operating in a heavily saturated market space. We aren't in a hurry because being listed on the exchanges doesn't mean we've made it. We can build exchanges if we need them. Creating a great client and a buzz in the industry leading to real world adoption means we've made it.

am I reading correcty? Web girls on the client?

799  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: August 22, 2013, 03:22:42 AM
you guys that are jumping into buying these and other large hash machines should punch some numbers in one of the online calculators. Before the end of the summer the difficulty will be at at least 100 million and over 200 million before years end. The get rich scheme will not happen, on the contrary, some of you will never recover the invested money
800  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I Predict Difficulty Will Be Over 100 Million by Summer 2013 on: August 22, 2013, 01:19:41 AM
This is mostly for my own amusement. Bump this to tell me how wrong or right I was when summer arrives  Grin

not too far. we still have a month to the end of the summer
