I only buy bitcoins when the price is good and the chance of making profit is also good and not just a speculation.
I must say the bitcoin is not to predict of course but most likely there are some signs where you can base the future on.

I thinks it's most probable that bitcoin will reach the $1,000 mark again, what would I do? that would all depend on how much bitcoin I manage to save in 20 years, I would probably sell some but not all as I would need to keep some for my retirement if I get that old.
I don't know what price we will have in 2017, and what halving will influence bitcoin economy to begin with. As far as I can tell harmful government regulations can detroy bitcoin even before it will reach full potential. |

Im saving as much as I can and try to spend as little as I can, and not only with Bitcoin, but fiat too. I save fiat to invest in other assets, and I save Bitcoin to have an alternative once the fiat system inevitably collapses upon itself. You gotta have a plan B and Bitcoin is the best plan B possible, even better than gold.
Of course you we have to save BTC for future, because I believe bitcoin in the future will be even brighter. I also have a target to save bitcoin in the future, until I retire. |

If you want to earn it for free then you should join multiple faucet sites to claim your bitcoin, as I don't think there is any other way to earn free bitcoins.

In 20 years, what I will do with the bitcoin is no different from now. I will still mine for bitcoin and use that.
Mining will reduce bro! utilise and save in some other way! If I will still be living and it is in a great price. I will teach my grandchilds how it works. Tell them this is my money I have been saving. And let them take care of it. Continue or withdraw it. They can choose what they want to do with it. |

That would be great, to make for living just with Bitcoin but I'm not sure that this is possible. I don't anyone who has succeded. But also it depends how much money do you need for living, what are the expenses that you have. If there was a way that you can make 2-3 Bitcoins per month for certain, that would be enough

So far, the holding strategy works well if you can hold the bitcoins for more than 4 years. The 2013 price of $1200 is an outlier.
Holding BTC a long time to make money is not good idea, better try to buy some altcoins at low price and then sell them at higher price, and change back to BTC. After that hold the bitcoins and do Bitcoin savings. |

Both is a very good currency, but the thing is that Bitcoin will longer exist in the future because everything is getting more digital and that works very well with Bitcoin.
You cant buy some online stuff with gold and that is the bad thing of gold.
If you believe gold is set to rise in price an want to profit from it, go for companies that own gold ores. It is of no use to own a company that has to rent the ore on a variable price contract. You have to own the land, a long term lease, the mining rights or the produced gold itself. The simplest is to just own the gold, the same as with bitcoin. |
