Noob question: Do I have to do anything other than run my client to forge?
(I have NXT)
Just unlock your account in your browser. You can then close the browser leaving the command window open.

The first post of this thread should be updated with latest version 0.5.0 of the NXT Client Software released today.
Just updated to 5.0, my not very technical impression of the client is that it seems a lot smoother and faster, used the old blockchain from 4.9e (which I haven't had to throw away and reload since 4.8 ) and it loaded very quickly. Good job, guys.Block check (tho' i'm beginning to think we don't need to do this anymore): 32887 13595421517752323934 zondag 5 januari 2014 0:51:36 0 0 + 0 0 B 2 17912046265833114505 164 % @Damelon: where is your scary horse today? Includes the blockchain files for ease of use. My username is the same here. I appreciate the mention Also, I run a public vps at nxt.ravensbloodrealms.com. How could we implement email confirmation for sending of NXT?
A service provider watching the blockchain could do this easily. This should be implemented...it would remove the possibility all together of Nxt being stolen...would also be another advantage for Nxt Is this something where the eventual message feature of NXT could come into play? The node that forges the block send a message back to the originator of the transaction and requests confirmation? I'm not sure how you hold up the transfer until confirmed, just my $.02 Edit: After about 2 seconds of thought I realized this would send a message back to the person who has already gained unauthorized access to the account. :\

It is plain dumb and misleading to call NXT "premined". The "premining" of NXT is a deliberate design feature of the currency, there was really never any mining and never will be, that's the point. EVERYONE was allowed to buy in, some did, a lot did not and now regret their decision not to invest in NXT from go.
Please stop spreading idiotic shit

Bitcoin is an investment choice of a comic cynical, burnt out, drug addicted, porn addicted, sex addicted smoker that makes some of the worst business decisions on television. The writers of the show must hate Bitcoin. They are subliminally telling the audience how bad Bitcoin is as an investment. Stay away from anything Krusty touches because you will fail like he does. I'm not convinced all publicity is good. Publicity can also turn something into a public joke.
Sinead O’Connor on October 3, 1992 appeared on Saturday Night Live. As part of her live performance, she held up a picture of the Pope, said “Fight the real enemy!” and then tore the picture (the action was a reference to the child sex abuse scandals then being experienced by the Catholic church). The backlash was severe, and her career was basically destroyed.

From Wiki:
Do I have to leave the client open in order to mine coins? No. You have to leave your account "unlocked" in order for your address to be active, but you do not have to leave your browser window open.
What "unlocked" means? Can i close browser and terminal?
Close the browser without clicking the lock icon to lock your account. This leaves it unlocked. The terminal needs to stay open, this is your "client".

Deposits arrive as soon as the BTC transaction shows in the blockchain. You can't withdraw NXT til the BTC transaction is confirmed, though.
