81  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AVALON Scam Accusation thread on: August 11, 2013, 06:36:11 PM
From what I read so many got their units and are happily hashing, and I thought scammers don't deliver at all.
Maybe poor business conduct, or lack of experience is to be blamed?
82  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: August 09, 2013, 08:37:59 PM

I think the noise we make with our batches are on a high level since our first batch is 2 weeks late only. But its the bad experience like BFL that made the community hypersensitive to such things. Its a good thing i think. But its too early to fight Yifu with police, sueing and so on. That can follow if he dont deliver and doesnt refund.

What i really want to know from him is what happened to the 135 packets with chips we saw.

My best guess goes in this order:
1.Avalon was paid not to sent chips by <bfl, asicminer ... insert your own in here>,
2.under threat they sold chips to mafia,
3.chips were sold to asicminer

Were those excuses that Yifu offered?
Looks like they were, for a reason they were not backed up by anything.
I don't say he lied, but if you want people to believe you, back it up by some sort of evidence.
In his "where we stand", still he offered allot for further direction of company and blueprint model for avoiding troubles.
I will be waiting, and I hope he deliver what he announced.

Logging off for now
83  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 09, 2013, 08:21:26 PM

I thought about sueing avalon but it would be pointless. The time the judge made his decision the chips are worth zero. So we are at some point at the mercy of Yifu. Of course if all is lost and he not even wants to pay a refund we have to sue him.

Admit it that you are afraid, community would provide you all needed funds to hire best lawyers and stuff.
Who cares about the chips, there is many more mirrions to be won at court
https://blockchain.info/address/1FGAftzSTztFSB8LMwsrdCKTyqGY6zr3sU
Remember it? the "I don't control that" address.
There are some serious money to be taken, and if this thing would go public we would possibly achieve a deal breaker for Ex-banker (Phoenix) and chinese liar (Yifu).
The investor wouldn't trust such a scumbag if it goes public and he would be aware who he is going to take care of his investment.
Yifu deserves it, so the whole bitcoin community to stop this preorder madness.

Putting and thinking revenge in business isn't a good path, and being stubborn as a child is even worse.
I won't be suing as it is pointless, waste of time and waste of money.
84  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: August 09, 2013, 08:13:22 PM
I don't believe Yifu will offer refund option, as it is against terms of sales they posted.

http://store.avalon-asics.com/?page_id=9605
6. made to order from TSMC foundry, this also means no refunds.

I also think chips are still fine in terms of ROI, and this delay was something we could expect.
So far I haven't paid assembly to burnin, but will do once chips are at his doorstep.
In my opinion Bitcoin community should support and appreciate effort that burnin and other respectable DIY gurus have made and not think solely on profit and ROI.
At the end how can we expect Bitburner xx with new generation of Avalon or any other company chips if we back up and leave burnin to burn at stake alone!?
To back up from burnin's design might be as good as putting a nail in his assembly business coffin for good.
85  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: August 08, 2013, 01:01:55 PM
Simple lesson from this. Avalon is on the do not buy from list in future. Avoid them and work with products that are not ordered 9 to 10 weeks out. Time for the community to work together and close down these types of companies simply by buying in future. BFL, Avalon and others who play the same game of ignoring customers and missing delivery dates.

So whats is on the buylist then ? Think it looks like this

I can't decide, what do you recommend good Sir?
87  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: August 08, 2013, 12:57:11 PM
Why do you guys not consider to take legal action against BitSyncom/Yifu/Avalon? Is it so absurd? In the German thread of sebastianJu's groupbuy there's just a discussion on this topic. We must react against these people, that think they can do what they want while their pockets are full with our money.

good idea! its an american company, class action lawsuit.

Anyone sued BFL!?
So far I am against suing Avalon, not much changed in market if we think about other competitors, and don't forget that doing business is always a risk so man up and take some responsibility.
Did I mention that Avalon delivered more than BFL did which is laying to their customers for more than a year?
And for those interested I am waiting for Avalon chips and this delayed chips delivery doesn't make me happy at all.

Man up? Should we man up for being past 5 weeks delay? who's side are you on? the side that are possibly not seeing any ROI, or the side that has our money for months, and millions of that?

I am on my side and beside that have allot of understanding to what might have happened. No you are right, let us sue them for everything bad they did.
Once I was thinking to sue my mother for making my eyes blue, and I always wanted the green ones.

For those suing or thinking about it, honestly I don't care if you do or if you don't, I was just stating my opinion.

The BFL comparison is apples to oranges.

People are attacking BFL but not in the form of lawsuits, in the form of reporting them to the authorities and merchants for criminal activity.
(and if you're holding out for BFL to deliver your unit ,you're as bad as BFL themselves)

Far more serious than avalon with whom we only accuse of breaching their contract and want our chips delivered or fair compensation for failure to do so. In which case a lawsuit is quite appropriate.

That is kinda funny. So you agree suing company that gave you a chance to earn money while many of us already did? Maybe you take any business for granted and believe you should profit from it for sure?
Don't get me wrong, Avalon broke their own terms of sales, and I am not at all happy or pleased abut it. But happy trigger suing mentality without any gratitude is what I don't understand.
Imagine Yifu and company decided never to help this community and make ASIC. Where it would left us? Yes, you are right, with BFL.
Yifu and the rest of the team had and I am sure still have best intentions, but most if not all of us (me included) can't understand what is happening for a reason we don't have all the info Yifu has.
He appeared in this forum today and promised to give news tomorrow. Chill and let us see what man have to say.

And yes, that empty list of suppliers sounds great! Roll Eyes

GPU mining is good as dead right now, which leaves only ASIC, which leaves only those willing to invest much and more, which leaves not so many persons involved (in comparison to before), which leaves a threat for BTC. Anyone think that ASIC have the power to ruin mining? Methinks it can, and also methinks that is the main reason for delay which I don't approve, but would understand if that is such a case. Of course I am only speculating and truth is nowhere near what I tried to guess.

the "i'm not dead thread."

Just got off the plane, expect lots of news tomorrow.

Great to hear from you at last!

Sorry and excuse me to say this but currently I am pissed off, and only news I would like to hear is that you will abide by your own rules of chips delivery and deliver chips in bulk for the orders you already had to ship. No support doesn't mean or at least it shouldn't mean no replies when you don't feel like replying or you are uncomfortable to reply. I understand that your phone, email and Avalon store support ticket system were spammed but you should at least throw us any info no matter how good or bad they are, so we, your customers could know where we stand. Maybe you are not aware, but some of us got in debt to buy your chips and get their equipment mining, and those developers like burnin that invested their time, effort and money and others depend on chips delivery. Don't think that I am ungrateful, I thank you for the all good you and your team did so far to help this community and I am fully aware that without you and your team this ASIC revolution wouldn't come like it did, but please, and pretty please, abide by your own terms of chips delivery (yes and the Avalon mining rigs batch #3).

What I would like to see is those orders that were delayed, to be shipped ASAP in next grouped chips delivery shipment or all chips that were ordered from one address to be shipped at once if your TOS allows.

Earlier somewhere you said that no company should have monopoly on ASIC technology and I would be disappointed to hear that BIG names were served before US LITTLE CUSTOMERS by not respecting order number and times when orders were placed. You are/were one of us, small people, so you should continue to support us small people and newer forget from where you are coming from.

At the end I apologize if I sounded rude, that was not my intention, I just wanted to say how I feel and I hope you will read it.
Regards,

tiros

90  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WTF Avalon? Ship the Chips! on: August 07, 2013, 11:06:33 AM
Gdmt ship our chips!!!
91  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [CLOSED] Avalon ASIC chip distribution on: August 05, 2013, 04:45:26 PM
yes, and then not get those as well  Shocked

If you wanted to buy 10K, that for sure isn't going to happen, and with group buy at least you have a chance.
I have no doubts that Avalon is going to deliver, but my hopes are they are going to abide and ship by their own terms or at least stick close to them.
92  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [CLOSED] Avalon ASIC chip distribution on: August 05, 2013, 02:05:36 PM
Next Time don't do group buy.

Ok that is fine, what are you suggesting us to DO?
Everyone of us to buy 10K of chips for ourselves?
93  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [CLOSED] Avalon ASIC chip distribution on: August 05, 2013, 01:59:15 PM
... or China could come to us ...
94  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Yifu/Bitsyncom please dont hold back the chip shipment because of b3 miners... on: August 05, 2013, 01:57:22 PM
Well, they just got a $200m investment. Hopefully they'll be able to provide compensation for everyone who's orders were delayed Grin

The USD200m story appears to be misreported FUD about Avalon Ventures, which is different from BitSynCom llc (company name is not Avalon)

So Yifu founded a new company, big deal.

Couldn't care less, but where's my chips!?!

where's my chips!?! All those promoters promoting their group buy, sweet talk on the Avalon Chips, but now we need
their help they are not around??

Clearly you dislike reading and gathering information's before you post. Guess who opened this thread.

btw I would like to know how many of us are able to buy 10K of chips for our own needs and where such an action would left you. Probably dreaming how you could get rich only if you had 780 BTC in your wallet.
95  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Yifu/Bitsyncom please dont hold back the chip shipment because of b3 miners... on: August 04, 2013, 09:07:15 PM
AVALON Chips TOS
http://store.avalon-asics.com/?page_id=9605

The no bullshit, no fine print terms of sale

1.    the only payment accepted is Bitcoin.
2.    these chips will be available until at least end of the year, 2013.
3.    spec and various information is available on the wiki
4.    the chips being sold are packaged and tested.
5.    the lead time on the chips is 9 to 10 weeks, OK, this means at least 9, and at most 10 weeks. Do your stuff, we did ours and our chips didn't arrive for a reason you didn't send them.
6.    made to order from TSMC foundry, this also means no refunds.
7.    the order quantity is 10,000 chips.
8.    the chips are identical to those in the Avalon units.
9.    communication protocol, reference board design can be found on github.
10.    everything will be open source from FPGA to PCB design..
11.    30 sample chips will be provided 4 weeks into ordering per 10,000 chips. And how many samples we got?
12.    we do not offer technical support of any kind, this is final.   That is crystal clear, what we want isn't technical support but reply on why deliveries are late and when you plan to ship the chips we paid. Apologies are welcome for braking your own terms of sales in spirit of good business practice and regaining the trust from your customers.
13.    if you do not know what to do with the reference design / packaged chips, please do not purchase. But we do thanks to you and DIY community. Please send our chips and abide by your own rules.

96  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: August 03, 2013, 07:52:16 AM
Is that all batches? because I asked to have a few sent to sensei in batch2 but you list him as getting nothing...?

Yes, till now there is no one shipping to sensei, but someone asked me for the costs today. It might be that there will be another one.

@a2offrb... i tend to use ICE-Train. Its probably cheaper to order the ticket in internet than renting a car. Of course i would have much luggage but i would not need to drive personally.

The first column are the chips count... that means it will be 40000 chips nearly for burnin in total. We have 5 batches plus 6000 chips from he sixth batch. Total of 56000 chips. But i would need to collect 5 batches, which would probably translate into 7 boxes like the one shown in the pictures. Only assuming all batches are coming in one shipment.

Like i said, i wont demand shipping costs for all chips going to burnin since i will bring my own chips to him too and i would probably have more work collecting the shipping cost. So ill let it donationbased.

Only for the other shipments i have to see what buyers want. I mean i cant pay dhl express all over the world that costs often around 70€ for so many addresses.

I can only speak for myself and not the others, but there is no sense for you to donate anything. Thanks for your intentions, but in the opening post is stated that everyone pays for his shipping + 10 US$ handling fee, and we all agreed to it prior to buying. It's more than enough that you are glued to your screen and couldn't travel to your holidays like the rest of us. You have to consider that there are very large chance that chips won't come together, so it is highly possible for you to deliver six times to burnin. I suggest that you calculate expenses and divide it proportionally to everyone whose chips you are carrying based on the number of chips or whatever other logic you consider appropriate.

You are such a nice guy Sebastian but there is no need to make this donation based. If Zefir's batch orders with only few days in between them didn't come together, I see no reason to think it would be any different with yours/ours. If you have expenses related to chips delivery, it should be shared with those whose chips are being delivered.
97  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Yifu/Bitsyncom please dont hold back the chip shipment because of b3 miners... on: August 02, 2013, 12:29:58 PM
Not sure why but I have a need to post this picture.

Anyone who don't find this post contributing is clearly missing a point.
98  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Yifu/Bitsyncom please dont hold back the chip shipment because of b3 miners... on: July 31, 2013, 10:30:46 AM
I agree with OP and want to add that bad handling (or unfortunate one) and planing shouldn't effect new customers knowing old ones with their delayed shipments should be handled already and long time ago. That would be stockpiling of problems and possible refunds and for sure is bad business model and practice. Having attitude to do it just because I can just make things worse.

I have no reason to guess why delays are happening, to talk about trains & stuff or I could come up with many Sci-Fi scenarios which would left me only speculating. Only thing I want to know in here is information provided by my supplier. Many if not most of us bought chips in various group buys, so questions to be asked should be asked by Zefir, SebastianJu' and others who organized their group buys. Seen that way, there should be not many support tickets regarding chips shipments delays and questions to answer. For sure I would respond to my customers out of respect if not anything else.

Sales is a contract with privileges, rights and obligations, and we all did our part, but now expected leading times for chips deliveries are not being honored. Of course , Yifu and his team are responsible for this ASIC revolution, which is great thing and we all are surely thankful for that, but they need to improve just few things to make it "good", knowing perfect is now impossible. So being said that I ask our good friend in common interest and our supplier;

Please Yifu let us know what are the plans, and when should we expect our chips Huh Thank you!
99  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: July 31, 2013, 09:52:24 AM
I opened a thread to complain to yifu to not delay the chip batches only because of production problems of batch 3 miners... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=264224
Im not sure if it will have any effect but not trying will have no effect for sure.

+1
Good idea! I hope it could help. At least Yifu can post general information instead of replying to hundred of PMs.

wow a good soul!!

from which batch is it; the 4 chips? I have 12 from batch two. If I get 8 more from Batch 2 or 3, then I could make a BitBurner Module with 20 instead of 10. That would be nice.  Could you please hold this for me?

A friendly person in our group is donating 4 chips to someone who needs them to get his miner full. Im not sure if i can name him so i let it be until he says another way.
Let me know if you need some to get your board filled up. He wants to give it for free.

One sample chip is available too for a developer again. The chip came back because china post was stupid. Correct address but they cant find it. Now the developer doesnt need it anymore because he got some samples from otherwhere. If there is a dev that still needs a sample and provides something for the community let me know.

I found that our first batch was ordered 11 weeks ago... 9-10 were the plan. And zefir's second batch had to be shipped 2 days ago but didnt. I hope Yifu doesnt hold back all the chips only because the batch 3 miners dont work. I mean batch 3 miners not working is bad enough but spreading this on the next product for being fair to batch 3 buyers? I hope it starts soon.

Not intended to be rude but you in fact are only 82 chips short to get 5 bitburner xx boards with 20 chips.
Or you could donate two of yours to some other person in need who need only two and not eight like you are.
Don't mind me, its just a thought ...
100  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: July 29, 2013, 02:20:40 PM
I agree itod... Yifu once stated that he dont like to do support, he prefers to develop hardware. But thats only a reason to hire someone, not to stop support. Now Yifu has problems with the batch 3 miners and probably donates all time into the problems.
I guess its useless to think about this... Smiley

Maybe they can ask burnin to help them with their issues? Wink
