A runner... It truly baffles me people would even consider that scenario. People always have to think the worst.

Bitcoinica, Mybitcoin, inputs.io... Trusting people with your funds in this game has gotten many people burned. There isn't, and can't yet be, a single operator out there who could truly be trusted. No exchange has even been running long enough.

Personally, I have a lot of faith in Bitstamp, for example, but I don't trust them implicitly. Spectacularly trustworthy people have stolen or simply lost other people's money time and time again, and I'm sure we'll see big losses in the future as well.

Edit: To be clear, right now, I don't think Bitstamp is doing anything alarming. I have gotten everything I was supposed to get out from there promptly, so the "technical issues" explanation seems credible to me.

Haightst, falling wedge are generally bullish continuation patterns. But yeah it will probably go down a bit more, at which point we will see how the wedge plays out.

yes I had this guy trying to sell me bitcoins for 800 bucks per coin when his ad said he was selling for 10% above bitstamp price~ which originally caught my eye because bitstamp was 100 less than gox at the time... I asked him: are you on bitcointalk?

86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DGC] DigitalCoin.Co | Instant \ Stable \ Reliable | International on: November 20, 2013, 12:48:16 AM

When do you expect DGC to double given it gets cut in half, along with most other alt coins, everytime Bitcoin makes another move up?

Seriously, unless there's a plan to mitigate this Bitcoin effect then there's no way to stop this freefall and the CryptoAve plan will only give DGC so much support and maybe a temporary bounce.

This Bitcoin pressure is too much to handle and it will drive most alts down to zero unless a plan is put into place.

I personally stopped linking any alt. coins future worth or current exchange value directly with Bitcoin exchange sometime ago.

Whilst the BTC/DGC , BTC/LTC etc. exchange value is obviously very important it is certainly not the be all and end all.

The very fact that DGC held strong, stable and level during the recent BTC price rally clearly demonstrates that all is well with digitalcoin.

If Bitcoin is the kernel, then alt. coin are like distros.

Bitcoin is on its way to becoming a de-(centralized ?) store of wealth and Litecoin is probably heading that way as well in terms of 'gold' vs 'silver'.

Digitalcoin is designed for making fast transactions over being a store of wealth. Sure, I'm guessing that holding a fair number of DGC is probably a very good investment for the future. Its unlikely that DGC will ever have a value above BTC, thats really not the aim here, digitalcoin is about making transactions and being spendable. Digitalcoin therefore should see better price stability and as wider adoption increases the price should also rise against both BTC and fiat currency.

Vlad2Vlad had advocated ixcoin to myself in a thread a few days ago, because of its similarity / differences to Bitcoin (which is fine and I do merge mine a few of those myself). My interest in DGC is not just about seeking big returns, its also about continuing to make better, faster and safer 'money' for the masses. What Bitcoin aimed to offer from the outset and what it still does offer people today.

The digitalcoin community understands this and supports what DGC has the potential to accomplish. Just look back in the thread over the last few weeks - new online web wallets, smart phone apps. and portable USB products are being created by the growing DGC community with active marketing and support, outside of crypto forums. I don't see this actively happening with very many other alt. coins currently in quite the same way.

Lastly, If you want a coin thats similar to Bitcoin and stands a good chance of going somewhere, then with the launch of CryptoAve exchange soon you probably wouldn't go a miss checking out Securecoin.  Grin

@strip4bit: will send pm  Wink

Count me in for sure. Straight to the moon! Will hotel accommodations be included? Can we bring guests as well?

in order to get good rates at hotels we will come up with partnering hotel suggestions. we will create at least three different packages/categories for our guests to choose from. those will not be obligatory, anyone can book his hotel of choice. if calculations work out we will try to include basic accommodation with ticket. there is no limit on number of purchased tickets per person.

can´t wait to meet you  Smiley

ya hopefully i can get "satoshi" to come too!

I will delete his Sig-Ad for now, if he wants to square up, then we will see. I think I have another advertiser for #2 position right now.

Dude, you spammed more than half of those posts (probably most of them). Most of your posts in other threads look like a monkey raped your keyboard and pressed "Post". Stunna also mentioned constructive. Constructive means it adds up to the conversation in a substantial way, which is something not present in your posts and which is reflected by a hefty amount of trust feedback left by various members from really reputable to relatively unknown.

92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCoin: New Protocol Layer Starting From “The Exodus Address” on: November 19, 2013, 11:42:55 PM

Guys, can we start moderating out haightst's posts such as this that do not add anything intelligible to the conversation? If he has an adequate argument, that is one thing, but things like this is worthless noise. I've ignored him but it forces everyone else to, to get the most out of this thread.

(And for the record, I am not an "MSC DEV" trying to censor him.)

I've been deleting them as I see them. I just wish there was a way to ban people from a thread altogether!

I just got off the phone with Taariq he sounds like a good guy to have on your team! I have some homework to do here regarding the concept of smart property>>

isn't funny how i'm the guy to talk to when it comes to bitcoin-stock market related stuff? LOL  Grin *right now MSC reminds me of a typical kool aid stand!

Hi Haightst,

This thread is for buying and selling MasterCoin.  I don't think you are doing either of these things.

Can you please take your general comments and musings to the overall MasterCoin project development thread?  That thread is here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=265488.0

I think you would be more apt to getting the discussion you crave if you posted there.  At the moment, your posts just add to the general noise and make it more difficult for us to pick out legit buyers/sellers.

Thanks,
- everyone here

*censorship has forced me to bring this over here. I responded to one of the buyers on the MSC private exchange who was trying to scam using his "escrow service" imho MSC looks highly questionable. *jmho* i'll see what Taariq has to say about all of this... thanks!
96  Economy / Securities / Re: Solid Securities Thread on: November 19, 2013, 09:49:38 PM
BTC-TC and Bitfunder closing had a very detrimental effect over the BTC Securities environment overall. Lots of funds don't want to be listed on HL or Cryptostocks, or the fund managers just didn't want to take the (significant) time and effort to move.

It will be a long time until there are as many BTC investment / speculation opportunities as there were during that time. The days of speculation for fun and profit are over, for the short term at least.

Most people would be best served by holding the BTC or investing in fixed-rate bonds, like XBOND (I hold XBOND, but that may even be facing a forced buyback at face value by TAT).

BTC-TC was a "game" if i remember correctly!   Roll Eyes
