So this swap requires me to send all my coins to a third party address that I have no control over (in terms of private keys) and to just trust all is well?
I would have preferred a trusted exchange to handle the swap or that people at least have the choice to not swap (and dump) which is now impossible as deposits are halted on all exchanges.
I really don't feel comfortable sending all I've mined over the years into thin air and would therefor hope you reconsider the option for exchanges to process the swap as well.
The foundation handling the coin swap is safer than a third party exchange. It's registered in the Isle of Man which is considered one of the top jurisdictions for online gaming regulation. If you still feel uncomfortable, you can test the process by sending a small amount of coins first. Each user can do one swap per day, you don't need to transfer your entire balance at once. Your coins are stuck in cryptopia (I'm sorry they are and you couldn't liquidate) but we all know if you don't own the private keys you don't own the coins.
MOVE ON and i'll PM you if anything happens with cryptopia.
Oh, I know what's going on: - Prypto will "shortly" be releasing its services (after having failed to sell any service previously)
- Casinocoin was taken over by a "new" team (read: the same losers who failed to produce anything at Prypto)
- At some point in the next few months, said new team will make an announcement, consisting of the announcement of future announcements
- This will be followed by further announcements of future events, none of which will ever actually happen
In the world of Prypto, "news" consists of aspirations, dreams and ideas. I have no doubt that these are plentiful. As they say, ideas are a dime a dozen. Sadly the same cannot be said of CSC, as 12 of them are not even worth a dime. You mention Prypto several times, Prypto has no affiliation with CasinoCoin besides providing a service which unfortunately for them didn't take off. If you see absolutely no value in CasinoCoin then stop posting FUD... your point has been made and the thread is not moderated by me so your comments won't be going anywhere. |

1 bid on Alcourex for 88 sat and Novaexchange for around 100 sat, CSC is dead. I don't understand, if your project is CasinoCoin, why you have repositories with name SANDcoin?!
From OP: The main issue at hand was that the current gambling-branded wallet would not have been compliant with existing banking regulation in this particular country. In negotiation with this partner, the "Caribbean Sandcoin" name was chosen because it was considered generic, tropical themed, and conformed to the CSC designation. |

So the attacker was able to steal 9.7 million coins from Cryptopia? Or are all those coins invalid?
I know you said there was rollbacks, but just want to be sure that person didn't get to keep any of the stolen coins
The coins didn't exist and the exchange is blaming Litecoin code. Unless i missed something huge in the commits, its Litecoin core that they are blaming  Yes the blockchain is fine. Cryptopia just had a way tooo low confirmation count of 6 blocks and no secondary checks on transactions in place. The CSC core indeed is on par with Litecoin so no security breaches there. Just very bad practices from an exchange .... If you trade or run a CSC service please consider: - Never leave coins in exchange wallets - Always trade/deposit/withdraw in small amounts - Always use a minimum for CSC block confirmations of 50, preferably 100 or more! - If you run an exchange, ... ALWAYS run checks on transactions against the blockchain! Until now only about 2,5 mln of the missing 9,7 mln Cryptopia coins have been reported. Can everybody who lost coins please inform us? Also, there is still 0.64143185 BTC on the buy side on Cryptopia, .... i would move that to AlcurEX or NovaExchange as soon as possible!!! Thanks! I had about 15000 there I was trading. Cryptopia seems like a pretty crap exchange, they screwed up Diamond coin there as well. They didn't have the ability to upgrade the exchange wallet after the last fork, so delisted it. I would say stay the hell away from them, its only a matter of time before they are hacked big time.
