81  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.82 on: January 04, 2014, 07:13:33 AM
Great, thanks

I have a problem, the + and the - are not working. I cannot see them, but everything else works fine though.
OS? Browser? BT++ version?
OS: Windows 7. Browser: Chrome (I recently switched from firefox) BT++: v0.2.82
It is a good password, I can use the chat.

EDIT: It works now, I can see it. It fixed itself after I posted this! Strange... anyway, thanks!
Why are all your posts green?
Also, theymos hinted at adding BT++ to bitcointalk.org's JavaScript (so no external userscript). Cheesy
82  Other / Meta / Re: Yesterday I had a trust rating of "4", today it's zero. What happened? on: January 04, 2014, 07:10:18 AM
Ah no, that is exactly what it is. Goat was on the default trust list, because Badbear trusted him, but Goat is off of it at the moment, as he is in the middle of a dispute with gmaxwell (not financial trust based). Goat's feedback is no longer showing as Trusted feedback (by default) so they don't see that additional +1 from Goat if they don't have him added to their own trust.

Truthfully, what other people see as far as your score is completely subjective on how they configure their own trust. I could remove the default trust list from my preferences, and configure it so just about everybody would show up as having 0 trust to me.
Oh finally, I don't have to screw around with settings to remove Goat from trust. Smiley
83  Other / Meta / Re: AUTO-SAVE feature in the post you are writing on: January 04, 2014, 07:08:38 AM
I don't want to look like I'm advertising but my userscript BitcoinTalk++ now saves the content of the textbox and can resurrect the last one

Can this be made into portable JS without any additional JS libraries? I'll add it to bitcointalk.org.

With HTML5 storage I think it's doable rather easily (my script uses greasemonkey's storage functions instead of HTML5)
I can do it if you want me to, it shouldn't take long
:O wow, gratz jackjack, BT++ will now be used by ALL THE MEMBERS WORLDWIDE!
84  Other / Meta / Gratz to SaltySpitoon for becoming a global mod! on: January 04, 2014, 07:07:47 AM
No, really, I really think this was well deserved. Wink
85  Other / Meta / Re: Image Proxy on: December 31, 2013, 07:26:43 AM

One thing that messed me up once is right-clicking on a posted image and getting the proxy URL, which tries to proxy the proxy & breaks stuff.
Easier to show than explain:  I'll reight-click & save the (sloth?) pic, and get this: https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F9WbAL.gif&t=535&c=U9ut3HgxwLZ8uw,
which shows up as:

*Not a complaint, just a heads-up, etc., etc,
Happened to me too, lol. You can't do anything about it ;P
86  Other / Meta / Re: Badges on: December 31, 2013, 07:25:29 AM
Oh, so here's the documentation for badges, finally ;P
87  Other / Meta / Re: Can an abandoned account be removed? on: December 30, 2013, 03:13:03 PM
How did you get this data? I can tell you didn't process that manually Tongue.
I scraped it and processed it programmatically. I used libreoffice calc to do the formulas determining what users fit the criteria.
Share your program?  Grin
88  Other / Meta / Re: prime dice spam bots on: December 30, 2013, 02:49:43 PM
Perma ban their url

They are promoting, incentivizing and paying for the spam
Yes, do!
89  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.82 on: December 30, 2013, 02:47:06 PM
I think the problem is your server. I just add a url CSS node so I can't do much about that.
What I could do instead is downloading the CSS, saving it in the in-browser BT++ saved data, then using this data as CSS.
So even if it downloading the CSS lags (whatever the reason is), the CSS import will be instant.

Now that I'm writing it I think it's a good idea so yeah I'll code that. I'll have to check what max size I can save though.
It is my server (256 MB ram, lohl), but thanks anyway Wink

Imgur, k?
91  Other / Meta / Re: Database errors when replying and general forum sluggishness. on: December 30, 2013, 02:22:17 PM
None of this here.
92  Other / Meta / Re: The Complete List of Replies to Stupid Meta Posts (or, the FAQ) on: December 30, 2013, 02:13:51 PM
Thank You! 1 month + some days here, didn't know about this

Q: Why isn't my activity increasing?
A: The way activity is calculated:
Code:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)
Activity is updated every 30 minutes.
No problem! Cool
93  Other / Meta / Re: Stop a thread from appearing in 'Show new replies to your posts' on: December 30, 2013, 02:13:22 PM
Look in my 'Stupid replies to meta posts' thread ;P
94  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk++ script - v0.2.82 on: December 30, 2013, 01:47:40 PM
I found a bug
Set http://whiskers75.com/bt++.css as your CSS - and witness the lag ;P

The Complete List of Replies to Stupid Meta Posts
(or, the FAQ)
Credit: Alt A's by Raize
Q: 'You have to wait 360 seconds before posting again'?! [or: PLEASE FIX THESE FORUM BUGS!!111!ONE!!!]
A: This is a newbie limit. The Bitcointalk++ script by jackjack adds a button for saving posts (read: no more CTRL-C!)

Q: How do I remove posts from "Show new replies to your posts"?
A: You can't. Use the Watchlist instead (see newbie readme).
Alt A: You can edit your post and uncheck "Notify me of replies" under "Additional Options". Alternatively, there should be a link in the email you received.

Q: WTF?! WHY IS SELLING ACCOUNTS ALLOWED?! THIS FORUM IS SO BAD IMMA CRY
A: Calm down. If the forum were to ban selling accounts, then they would have no way of enforcing it; it would be pointless...

Q: OMG i getted -trust moderetors plese remove im not scammer i swear
A: The trust system is not moderated. Deal with it.
Alt A: The trust system forces accountability. If someone find you untrustworthy, you should talk to them directly about it. You might be surprised to find out how reasonable those on the Default Trust list actually are.

Q: 'Show unread posts since last visit' is clogged with scamcoin announcements!
A: Ignore the alt-crypto board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=400656.0

Q: How do I change my avatar?
A: (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Alt A: Stolen entirely from a Google search:
Quote
Select a photo on your own computer to use as your avatar. Crop it to be square.
Click on the Profile tab available on every page of the Forum.
Click on "Forum Profile" on the left of the Profile screen under "Modify Profile."
Click on the radio button next to "Upload an avatar."
Click on the Browse button at the end of the empty field next to "Personalized Picture."
Browse on your computer to the photo you have chosen.
Click on the file name of your photo.
At the very bottom of the page, click on "Change profile" to complete the operation.

Q: why is vip donations so expsive its liek thousands of dollaz
A: Donation prices will never change; that would be unfair.
Alt A: The forum isn't hurting that bad for money, there may be new donation levels in the future. The likelihood of lower-level donation levels being allowed means a higher likelihood of people using the clout they obtain from those changes to scam others, as evidenced from the high level of donator/VIP scammers over the last several years.

qwk even compiled a list of them here, but I don't think it includes Tradefortress at the present time:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=38071.msg3276232#msg3276232
Q: When I click 'new', it doesn't take me to the newest post!
A:
It's a bug in EasyList for Adblock Plus. All links (including "anchor" links) are blocked when immediately inside of a post <td>:
Code:
bitcointalk.org##td[style="padding: 1px 1px 0 1px;"] > a

Complain to EasyList.

It's impossible for an Adblock Plus filter to block all of the forum's ads. Some ads can be individually blocked, but not all forum ads in general. They should stop trying or they're going to keep breaking things for their users.

Q: Some stupid question about the trust system not appearing/working
A: You have to trust someone's trust ratings to be able to see them under 'Trusted replies'.

Q: What do these shiny coins under my name mean?
A: That you're an idiot and didn't read the sticky.

Q: Why does this: happen?
A: Like it says, it might just be an invalid image (images must not be larger than 2.5 MB)

Q: Why isn't my activity increasing?
A: The way activity is calculated:
Code:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)
Activity is updated every 30 minutes.

Q: WTF mods?! My post got deleted?!?!?!?!?
A: It was probably offtopic, or you might have posted in a self-moderated thread.
Alt A: Or it might just be moved to a forum like Meta!

Q: I want to be a moderator!!!!1!!one!
A: If you want to be a moderator, report many posts with accuracy. You will be noticed.

Q: How many ads does [insert name of company here] have?!
A: https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adinfo

Q: Can you please add [insert feature here]?
A: No, but the bitcointalk++ userscript might be able to or might already have that feature.
96  Other / Meta / Re: Forum 1000 "Activity" Hall-of-Fame on: December 30, 2013, 06:54:33 AM
I'll be on that list eventually... hopefully Grin.

(My join date was in October 2011 though, and I haven't posted every fortnight, so it may well be a few months yet.)
If you keep posting on every fortnight then in around 3 months
I registered in June 2011 but left during a long time Sad
I remember the times when everyone was all 'ERMAGERD ASICS WILL FIRE LAZERS AT CPUS AND GPUS'...
Oh, the good old days...
97  Other / New forum software / Re: New message board wish list on: December 30, 2013, 06:33:02 AM
If I had the money/time/initiative, I would do something like this in Node.js. However, I'm still screwing around with Apache2 Sad
98  Other / Meta / Re: Image Proxy on: December 30, 2013, 06:26:31 AM
Images must be less than 1.5MB. Resize or compress your image.

This ( http://i.imgur.com/9MLly1L.png <40k) doesn't show up.

 Huh
FTFY ;P

I don't want to look like I'm advertising but my userscript BitcoinTalk++ now saves the content of the textbox and can resurrect the last one
This should be added to the newbie readme.

Feature request: notifications on replies to your threads (so you don't have to spam-refresh your email).

You should change your emailprovider. Even most freemailers and their webinterface support push mails. Refreshing emails is so 2000.
Unfortunately, Citadel (homebrew email/BBS) doesn't.
Explain me what you want, I didn't really understand
If I start a thread - let's say about http://kittenco.in (my new ticker), I'd like to have a notification when someone replies to that thread, without having to check email (as mentioned above, I use a really old email server, as Postfix/Dovecot is blargh).
