81  Economy / Speculation / Re: $6200 I'm buying on: February 06, 2018, 09:59:02 AM
What I have seen the last days is that every time we thought there was some kind of bottom, it took not long and the price decreased even more. I don't know what you call that in chart analyzing, but it is similar to a long row of small bull traps. Right now I still see that pattern intact.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum? on: February 06, 2018, 09:54:41 AM
Bitcoin and Ethereum are two of the most popular digital coins today. In terms of value, bitcoin is much larger than ethereum, but in terms of potential, ethereum is quite capable of dealing with bitcoin. So you think which one is better?

For me is bitcoin I wouldn't say that it is better , despite the price or the value of this two crypto currency they are the same though , but on the popularity bitcoin is famous , and through investing just go with the bitcoin cause you can assure you have a better future ahead of you.
I think that bitcoin will be the storage of wealth in the world of crypto currencies because of its limitation. Another currency that is not limited will become the form of payment. In my eyes that could very well be Ether. I do not think that a currency can be both, an investment and payment method.
83  Economy / Economics / Re: Don't worry, the market will not fall forever. on: February 06, 2018, 09:50:54 AM
For those who have been in the crypto currencies for too long I think they aren't really worried about it at all.
Those who are new are surely being scared right now but lets just wait for the market to fully recover and wait for the price to rise up again.
I think once it is fully recovered we will all be shock at how high the price would be.
That`s true everyone will be shock if the price will be back to it`s normal price or let`s say much higher than our expectation. Many people get worried but it can`t help right now in this kind of situation. We should continue our support of all crypto coins and we will unite always for every goals that we have in crypto coins. This is only  challenge of bitcoin and altcoins, so the thing that we can help was never been quit and we should hold our expectation that it will back to normal again.
I think as well that we will see a comeback of the cryptocurrencies. But what most people are underestimating is the time that we might have to wait for that to happen. After the last big dips it took years for bitcoin to regenerate. I just hope that the people, especially those new to bitcoin, will be patien enough to hang in so long.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung is going to support bitcoin on: February 06, 2018, 09:27:22 AM
What Samsung wants is to participate at the success the cryptocurrencies had the last months. But with a further decreasing price, it will be much harder to find people willing to invest in mining rig. My hopes are that with a new player in the hardware sector, we might see the prices there drop.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin pose a threat to banks? on: February 06, 2018, 09:02:14 AM
Banks don't fear cryptocurrencies. The market for cryptocurrencies is gettinge more and more regulated. And the decrease of the price is something that scares possible new crypto users away. I think that we are back at a level where the people see banks as more trustworthy as crypto currencies again. It will take a long time until the popularity of the crypto industry will increase again.
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I told my grandma to put all her lifesavings in Bitcoin because you guys said on: February 05, 2018, 07:50:59 PM
If granny bought at 4200 dollars and sells now for 6800 dollars, granny made good profit!
I don't see a reason to complain. Maybe she is a really smart lady and has sold somewher in the last two december weeks.

But what you can see best from this thread: always be patient. Sometimes it just takes a while!
87  Economy / Speculation / Re: Screw that, I'm hodling on: February 05, 2018, 07:44:34 PM
I am holding as well. Dips won't harm me, I have time to wait.
It really feels strange though. On the poloniex market depth, you already see buy orders for 2K again. It feels like ages since I saw one of those the last time. Let's just hop they will never be executed.
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin end? on: February 05, 2018, 07:32:16 PM
I do not see an end of bitcoin, but a quick recovery to levels we had, that I don't believe. Bitcoin has still many supporters and long term holders like me. The only way bitcoin could end is when the miners stop. And they will not stop as long as they can earn money.

The miners will never stop, there will always be money to make; despite (or perhaps because of) the price drop since Dec the hash rate has doubled!
The thing that will stop BTC is it's limited transaction capacity and functionality to support other blockchain applications.
Sorry, but ETH, XRP and others are going to eat your lunch!

Transaction capacity matters for currencies, mediums of exchange. Bitcoin has turned into an asset. People do not pay with it, they store value in it.
For that the capacity bitcoin has is sufficient. But I can imagine that ETH is capable to become the most important payment method in the crypto currency world.
89  Economy / Economics / Re: good effect and bad effects of robots in replacing human Jobs on: February 05, 2018, 04:18:58 PM
One of possitve effect of Robots is that it can be used to do very dangerous task instead of putting a person life at risk. They were made for human aid, but most of us become dependent and become lazy. Another negative effect is that most of our manpower were replaced by robots because of high work efficiency.
I would not really call it just dangerous task, but can actually do more than any human can do as programmed and even faster without complaining of a raise or giving excuses of not coming to work and we both know that no company owner will not prefer to go for that. Unfortunately, this is the case and there is nothing anyone can do than to just adapt to the situation of life, see how to do something else with their life and move on. It is life, there are so many opportunities than factory jobs, it just requires staying smart, let's face the truth.

The biggest advantage of using robot is that robots can do a work very quickly and more accurately than humans if they are built in a right way, also they perform jobs free of coasts but on the other hand robots are decreasing job opportunities for people and also it is damaging human’s health because now a day people relay more and more on machines and are becoming useless themselves

In many countries the population gets older and less children are born. Some tasks need to be done by robots becaus you don't find humans who would want to do them. In Japan, I think they have already robots for simple tasks in nursing homes because they can't get enough employees.

91  Economy / Speculation / Re: CAN ANYONE PLEASE SHED SOME LIGHT? WHAT'S WRONG WITH BTC? on: February 05, 2018, 04:04:27 PM

OK, I'll cut straight to it. I see all these people saying "Yeah it will be fine" and "it always bounces back".. etc etc..

But ARE these people just saying it with hope or actual knowledge?

Are the banks and big hedgers truly suppressing in order to scoop up more BTC cheaply?

As far as I knew from last week (or so the news went) Saudi Arabia was going to be highly involved in btc and I presumed the price would boom again. I love BTC and I love anything to do with crypto, but I'm truly scared and anyone that says they're not I think are either just trying to keep a straight/strong face, and are basically all as scared as me.. (well I hope they are, as this shit is getting serious).

I'd love to hear some truth and real thoughts.

Cheers'
Paul

It's ok to be scared about this deep dropped of bitcoin price mate, i think the majority of all bitcoin users are also scared on what's happening to its market value. But it's actually a normal scenario, bitcoin price is really has a high volatility that makes it so predictable. But this unique characteristic of bitcoin is one of the most important factor that attracts so many investors to invest with it, because of the possibility of making a huge profit from it. But it takes so much risk, that can be hard for those small time holders to take the risk because of lacking of capital.

The main difference between this drop and the other drops we had before is that this time the world is watching.
The earlier drops years ago nearly nobody noticed. I did not notice. That makes me say that we have a new scenario, and we can not conclud form developements we have seen in the past to developements in the future.
When people say it will bounce back that is a hope which I share, but nothing more.
92  Economy / Economics / Re: Will we ever live in a cashless society where cryptocurrencies thrive? on: February 05, 2018, 03:54:51 PM
The society will always use primarily the fiat currency. But I think that in the future it will be more and more digitalized as well. In most countries the fiat is stable, and stability is something most people want. Cryptocurrencies will not disappear, but they will only play a minor role.
93  Other / Off-topic / Re: Selling or buying? It's your very own decision! on: February 05, 2018, 03:39:37 PM
I take option three: Keeping! In that market, I can not buy! There is a really good chance that I can get coins later cheaper.
And selling? No! My plans were always to keep my coins for a longer period of time, even if a larger dip would happen. And now that we really face it, I will not change my plans.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is going down - it will stop at 7600 BTC/USD or 4700 level. Vote! on: February 02, 2018, 01:49:30 PM
I have recently read an article of a bank in Switzerland who said that a fair value of one bitcoin would ba at about 6K. That would match the middle of the range op gave us.
I think at that time the price was somewhere between around 11K.
Those guys in Switzerland are usually very crypto friendly, and when it comes to things concerning money quite smart. I suppose they have more accurate numbers than most of us.
But I still will not sell my coins.
95  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency Banks: needed? on: February 02, 2018, 01:33:52 PM
For bitcoin and any other decentralized coin I don't think that a centralized system is needed in order to take care of the coins. When a coin is given out by a company, then we already have a centralized system.
But in general I do not see what services a crypto bank can offer. Interests with cryptocurrencies that will not happen. Storing the coins is something everybody can do. What else is there?
96  Economy / Speculation / Re: WHAT IS CAUSING BITCOIN TO DROP?????????? on: February 02, 2018, 01:10:26 PM
I think it is just panik. Many people who got in at 10K and above es that in the last weeks bitcoin know only one direction. Now they try to save as much of their money as they can.
Lets be honest, a bitcoin for 19K like we saw it in December, that is overvaluated. Maybe in a few years that will be a fair price.
97  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think that bitcoin can reduce corruption? on: January 31, 2018, 04:04:50 PM
Bitcoin, like most other cryptocurrencies, is anonymous to a certain degree. Corruption needs a way how money can flow as anonymouse as possible. So for corrupt people it makes sense to use a cryptocurrency. That is unfortunate for the honest bitcoin user, but I do not think I am wrong with my estimation. I do not think that bitcoin directly leads to corruption, but it surely does not reduce it.
98  Economy / Economics / Re: Spending Bitcoins on: January 31, 2018, 03:36:44 PM
I do not pay with bitcoin anymore. In case I really want to buy something withe a cryptocurrency, then I choose something different. And I do not think that this is bad for bitcoin. The mempool is full. When more people use bitcoin as a payment the mempool fills even more.
99  Economy / Economics / Re: 99% of the people still think that fiat money are better than crypto on: January 30, 2018, 08:20:00 PM
I was talking with a friend of mine about cryptocurrencies and he said:
"Cryptocurrencies are anonymous?Nothing on the internet is anonymous.Having a bunch of dollars or euro in the pocket is the most anonymous way to store money. Grin"
Damn, now i think that he is right and fiat money are still way more convenient ,despite all the inflation, banks monopoly and control. From my personal experiense 99% of the people refuse to believe in bitcoin and refuse to adopt it in their daily life.Any opinions?
With a bunch of dollars in your pocket you still have to meet somebody in order to get something. That person will probably see your face and the anonymity is gone again. With cryptocurrencies that problem is solved.
Another reason why most people stay with fiat: because most people stay with fiat! Humans are pack animals. And the average pack animal does not want to draw any attention. It does what most others do.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My advice to Bitcoin newbies: relax on: January 30, 2018, 08:11:32 PM
Relax is a good advice for everything that has to do with money. But it presumes that you have thought about your actions in advance. Blindly throwing money in bitcoin with the hope for profit, that is something where nobody can stay calm. In order to relax, get to know bitcoin first, invest then.
