81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where Will It Go If The Money Comes From Illegal Source on: May 10, 2024, 02:34:28 PM
What I'm certain of is if such reg flag is raised then the authority is informed about the suspicion and investigation will commence by the government and if that money is laundered then it will be seized and converted to state fund while the holder is taken for charges but the question is what happens if the money is genuine after the casino has raised the flag and investigation conducted while they have banned the account, because sometimes you could have hard time trying to get on with your KYC and it might be misunderstood to be fraudulent reason. So the question is what if the money happen to be a genuine money after the owner gambling account is banned  Huh
82  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Hope yah still accumulating and holding. on: May 10, 2024, 01:20:27 PM
What I surely know about Bitcoin be say the price is still reasonably cheap for now because when the bull run begin proper, some go regret. I see some people don dey feel say bitcoin no go reach the 6 digit as e be like say things slow down but that is not correct because after the correction of the ATH from 73 down to 59k, the price level go soon stabilize before the real ride. The thing be say people dey feel say bitcoin na fast money but you have to also be patient to reap the profit. When you jump out early, na you go begin feel bad and regret the decision. Hodl and DCA for more gains.
83  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you achieved anything from gambling on: May 10, 2024, 06:23:00 AM
First off, isn't what they did with the money they won an achievement in this context? If they hadn't won that money from gambling, they'd have most likely used money from their own pockets or savings to do the things they did with the money. Most people use the money they win from gambling to buy stuff like clothes, gadget, get a dinner date and so on, all these are things that you needed but you forgo them because they're more important things on your scale of preference, but now that they have money outset of work, they can afford those things.

Trying to include an achievement to gambling is something that would not work for everybody. We don't have to see gambling as a job that we intend to achieve from. I don not input the idea of achieving something maybe a huge sum of amount to gambling. I have entirely changed my idea about gambling and it should not be something we do virtually everyday. One just have to be careful about what we do and how we intend to benefit from gambling. Gambling can be very rewarding to us especially to people that knows how to play there games well and not us trying too hard to make money from our random bets. We might not be lucky every time.

To have a mindset of achievement in gambling can be dangerous and that is why many gamblers tend to fall with the greed and they keep trying because they have determined in themselves that they would achieve that especially if they are envious type and envying their friends. To win big in gambling doesn't really have to be a predetermined thing, it just happens because gambling has an element of luck. But if you have played without that winning, you can take a break and try next time. However, I have seen gamblers who have won big but yet didn't achieve anything with it because they lost it back as a result of greed.
84  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump & Cryptocurrency on: May 10, 2024, 05:09:29 AM
I new it will get to that stage for those interested in the American presidency to use cryptocurrency as an agenda for campaigning and of course it has to be for the progressive purpose because the adoption rate is increasing. I think trump will use that as a campaign tool as he is more into the digital investment and business

What we can expect under Trump is that he outlaws Bitcoin so his own coins will go up in value.

And you think that will be possible? That he would have peace with the congress and American society? Moreover, bitcoin is already decentralized with a fast growing population, so that is not visible that trump would think of that when he is a crypto investor.
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Using A Journal Spreadsheets Will Pave The Way For Addiction To Gambling on: May 09, 2024, 09:04:25 PM

Does anyone here have their own journal or spreadsheets, and are you taking gambling seriously?

Keeping such record means the gambler is taking it as a business or investment that he doesn't do from time to time or at intervals but on a daily or consistent basis and that is the reason he has to keep the record to ensure to keep track of his results both for loses and for profit. I don't have such record because at the moment I am a heavy gambler unlike in the past. However, to keep such record is a factor that also makes someone to be addicted to gambling because when you see you have lost more you will also chase to recover which is one emotional factor in all human. The cause of greed is also part of this emotional aspect to gambling.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the main points of gambling? on: May 09, 2024, 08:00:58 PM
lol or how about some people just gamble for fun? I really wonder if the majority of people who participate in this board really are the gambling degenerates that it seems many are made out to be.  Why does everything spoken about on this website have to do with "making profits".  There's more to bitcoin as well as gambling than "making profits".

The main point of gambling should be to have fun.
It's a fact we need to accept, in the process of gambling for fun I also don't want to lose my money despite it would not have any negative impact on my chances of survival. We say we gamble for fun but each time we lose money we all feel the pressure and be/feel in an unsatisfactory situation, it is common. The rules on gambling should be to gamble responsible and avoid chasing loses while gambling because either doing it for fun or not, the final process ends in making profits.

Well I have not believed that gambling is for fun or that people gamble for fun. If it is for such purpose then losers won't get bothered about why they are losing money more than they are profiting. So it is a purpose for profit that gamblers are rushing into gambling and not because they desire to lose. They desire to win not losing so it is not for fun that most gamblers go for it. The point is most are only focused on gambling it as source of income and so when they don't win, they will start the regretting phenomenon in gambling.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the main points of gambling? on: May 09, 2024, 06:57:01 PM

What do you think about this people losses much? Does it mean they don't know the main points of gambling?

They do but the problem with people gambling is that all their focus is on profit and they don't consider their loses so when that begin to happen to them, they will start to complain , especially the newbie gamblers. Life is a lesson likewise you have to learn with the experiences of gambling to fortify yourself. So it is not that people lose much but they gamble irresponsibly and expect magic to happen. For example, I know of more people who have won from single bet or fewer bets game than those who have won through multiple bet and that could mean the chances of winning with fewer games is greater than multiple bet but some people prefer to take the risk of jackpot with multiple betting and when they don't get that after a while, they will start getting restive and complaining.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people lose in gambling and still go ahead and bet more? on: May 09, 2024, 04:33:57 PM

To answer your next question, your friend have two choices which are; he should stop gambling or he should continue gambling. If he stops, he will not have to deal with gambling losses again and if he continues to gambling, losses are inevitable.

Haha I understand that you are trying to be straight up with your advise that if you are gambling then expect the loses too. Yes it is right, like if you have fetched ant infested firewood then you should also expect the visit of reptiles Grin. So that is the way gambling is, if you have made up your mind to chase the profit in gambling then you have to also be ready to take the risk of losing because every gambler lose from time to time and also wins when he is lucky. Therefore if you are losing, you don't have to see it as you are the only one who is losing, you have to get your analysis well and you have great fun when you win and also take it the way it comes when you lose.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Peoples expectations about casinos free spins on: May 09, 2024, 09:50:30 AM
Free spin is more like a bonus that a gambler gets for playing or getting in with the casino, so it is expected to be encumbered and limited to a certain level that you won't be able to have the freedom as if you did a fresh bet. I have not relied on free spin anyway and I have not been lucky to play to the extent of withdrawing. In any case I have lost free spin wins before I get to withdawing  Grin

It is more like the bonus given to players to be able to test on the casino games without using their own deposit on it and if they are lucky at the same time they can benefit from it.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people lose in gambling and still go ahead and bet more? on: May 09, 2024, 07:44:48 AM

I don’t know if you’ve ever been in that scenario where you simply want your money back and don’t want any interest or extra, that may be his case (depending on how much he has lost). Best you can do is advise him that he should take it slow and steady if he wants to continue, and also, gambling shouldn’t be his main source of income.

Of course most gamblers have been in the same shoe and worse part is you expect to regain your loses without extra but if you are lucky to get there, you start looking for same extra that you don't intend to. This is usually the story of gamblers, as to the reason that they lost even deeper. Emotion is the cause of loses, a gambler who is good with controlling his emotion is probably going to get his bets. Playing many times or fewer times won't really matter anything without proper guide to our emotions.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Story of my life on: May 09, 2024, 05:16:39 AM

One way or the other, we have all experienced this, so the advice is to only play with money you can afford to lose and enjoy playing. It is very much true it takes up the pressure because you can think clearly, but it is more of a coincidence because even if you are pressured or not, if you're going to be lucky, you're going to be lucky whether you are playing with pressure or not, but it eases the burden of overthinking and anxiety.

This kind of situation or thinking can pass for the illusion of how we have shaped our mind on the reason that we are losing or winning. I don't believe it is from the casino or house edge because you are playing often. In fact, if you are playing often and unfortunately you start losing, you are likely going to be confused and start making more mistakes that will further confuse you because you want to win back your money but if you play in intervals, you can analyse games better than the rush to win back lost money.
92  Economy / Gambling / Re: Help me find sites or telegrams to track fixed matches on: May 08, 2024, 07:53:05 PM
Help me find sites or telegrams to track fixed matches

Do fixed matches to gamble on really exist and open to the public? Although you are not the first that I will hear about fixed matches from but I don't think if that is real and open for everyone to know and gamble on. If it do exist then it will only be for very few people's knowledge and not everyone. So to have a telegram group assuring you that they are going to give you odds based on matches that have been fixed with a particular outcome, that will be a scam so be careful. It means for example you will know the correct score of a match or if it was staged for a draw or one person will win etc, it will just be a free ride for gamblers to hit jackpot. Therefore, it is too good to be true.
93  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Mastering the art of delayed gratification on: May 08, 2024, 04:29:56 PM

For those that have probably stacked up Bitcoin for at least a circle or so and have built a great portfolio in the process, how where you guys able to cope with the issues of self gratification even when you have the resource to fulfilling such desire? Like, the desire to buy a car, upgrade your apartment or kind of improve on your lifestyle during the time you're still building your portfolio would have been an issue you dealt with. Let's share our experience so intending holders and those that have just started thier Bitcoin accumilation journey can learn from it.

Na through alternative source of income that you can actually reap the benefit of delayed gratification regarding your crypto hodling. If you don't have alternative source to get money and survive including taking care of the family, Omo you go touch your cryptocurrency to survive. You no fit hodl coins make you dey hospitized wey be say you require money make you no sell your coins. So the main reason wey person fit take hodl him coin for like 10years mean say you are surviving through other means and you just forget the coins for the wallet. For car own, you fit even no sell your coins because it is not between life and death but on health issues wey require huge bill, you go sell your coins except you have other sources of income.
94  Economy / Economics / Re: The knowledge Economy on: May 08, 2024, 02:15:04 PM

I want to conclude my assertions that developing countries especially Africa can't make any progress with out making a considerable investment into it knowledge Base

Your assertion is not far from the truth and this is not just about Africa but third world countries also. To get an economy progressing, the panacea is to increase the budget on education and that is what those countries that have developed has done. They have focused more on education which reflects in their budget including research. If there is concentration in education it will increase the knowledge and technological developments in the country through job creation which will increase GDP of the country. So African countries need to learn from those countries that there citizens run to for jobs because they have actually gotten the strategy right that got them into economic progress, stability and growth.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people lose in gambling and still go ahead and bet more? on: May 08, 2024, 01:13:43 PM
I've a friend of mine who always complain that ever since he started gambling he haven't won a good amount, instead he'll be winning less money than what he expected but he can't stop.

He should know that a little drop of water can make an ocean, what matters is the consistency and the drive he has. If you have won a little in the past then it means you can win big later if you have the right process. So playing with the strategy that made you win in the first place that you regard as small will also make you win big, that is how gambling is but if you keep changing strategy because you have the notion of winning big then you can miss it. To aim for big win is not wrong but the mode of achieving it should be sustained.
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between females and males, who are more resistant to gambling losses?  on: May 08, 2024, 10:44:36 AM

I was just having a little chat on the other thread when I read a member's comment who says that women are better gamblers, which I really disagree with. I believe that men are the better gamblers here. With all my thoughts running through my mind, I just decided to create this topic to get your view on it.

I will go for the side of women to be better gamblers because they have better control of risk compared to the men. The men when it comes to gambling is always focus on what they will get in the game but not their lose. A woman being the type that wants to be sure everything is alright would ensure that they go for more easier games that are likely to be less risky depending on the risk appetite. I understand that to gamble is about making of profit but if you are losing consistently then you are not still a good gambler, therefore it is better to profit gradually than to lose all at once.
97  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you disguise on your real gambling lifestyle just to help a friend/relative? on: May 08, 2024, 07:23:17 AM

Does any of you guys have any negative side of gambling habit in you which literally you advices anyone not to exhibit it?

Just like sometimes you don't feel proud to say you had a huge loss, you can reduce the loss when you are asked. Or sometimes you also want to increase your profit when actually it was not up to that.

Advise is people should not always follow what they read or see because that may not represent the reality. Do what you feel will be right for your self.

Or can you afford to hide your real disreputable gambling life just to help an astray gambling friend or relative?

I'm not even surprised at your story and fear with your friends, you are not the only one in that shoe much as many other people are doing that. It is not easy to keep the emotions away from gambling which is why you see the loses. Many would advise the proper thing to do but they can't keep up to it. It is difficult to control your emotion when you are losing
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 08, 2024, 06:10:31 AM

I asked someone besides me why did they allow this boy's to come in with their uniforms and gamble, he said did they put any restrictions that younger ones are not allowed to gamble.

This person is not really a knowledgeable person and I suspect he is a man, the kind of father that doesn't bother how their children are raised. Everybody knows that there are limitations on what children shouldn't do at a certain age until they get to an appropriate age and that includes gambling which in most jurisdictions it is 18 years. 18 years is taken as the age where a person is considered to be about to give informed decision and able to take care of themselves to such extent to know right or wrong or give consent to certain decisions. So if school children work into a gambling house, the management of the place should be able to identify them and send them away because it will be a violation of the gambling age if children are allowed to gamble.
99  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Centralized Exchanges already violate customers privacy right by asking for KYC on: May 07, 2024, 11:50:19 PM

If you look well well, to some extent the government fit get a point oooo, sake of say why the exchanges go dey ask customers to submit their documents and go through kyc when their know that their are not authorised by government to do so since their don't have licensed to operate it make them become Lord over their own system when then their self no follow thr right principles to operate such a service within the jurisdictions.

But we know say government no even look that side, them just focus on bringing down naira P2P by blocking it off the exchange. Naija government never worry of exchange submitting of KYC but dem only dey pursue about naira.

So make we chuck mount for the big yan we're be say!

Why exchange go collect kyc from customers in Nigeria when their are not licensed by government?

I no think say the KYC na for only Nigeria people the KYC dey require. If you want get account for such exchanges then dem go ask you to go through their KYC by providing documents or credentials. So na general thing and no be say dem dey single only Nigeria out for KYC.
100  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Too much disasterous threats in relationship and partnerships. on: May 07, 2024, 08:24:56 PM

My question is why not either the man or the woman just peacefully walk out from the relationship if they don't feel welcomed and comfortable anymore instead playing with ones emotions or the intentions to put ones life to an end because of selfish interests and anger of jealousy?

Yes, sometimes things get out of hand and before you could say jack so many things have gone wrong especially the aspect of physical assult either from the man or the woman can be reported dead in the moment. Although sometimes also there are build up to this trouble but you will never envisage it will get to such level until something goes wrong. Things like domestic accident, fighting or resultant death in marriages are not planned, they are usually spontaneous and that is why some couples don't really have the time to properly think out their decisions before the havoc is done. Moreover, such decision of leaving immediately you start sensing incompatible are not easy especially where child/children would be considered.
