801  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin be around in 5 years? If so, what's its price? on: July 30, 2014, 12:29:22 PM
I was looking at all the shit coins at the bottom of coinmarketcap and wondering if bitcoin will ever go the same way. Will new coins ever take bitcoin's place and push it lower and lower down the capitalization chart?

Nah, I'd be really puzzled if some coin ever throws bitcoin off of the first place. It's a pure question about adoption and exposure. And Bitcoin is leading by degrees of  magnitudes. Side chains may incorporate other coins, though.

I don't think bitcoin will be replaced by an altcoin in the future simply because its developement is not completed.
It could still be modified to fix or add any characteristic in order to let it stay in the first place among all the cryptocoins.
802  Economy / Speculation / Re: No Mt.Gox....No Willy bot....No moon! on: July 30, 2014, 12:20:24 PM
Bitcoin value isn't destined to follow an horizontal line forever, this is just a normal period of stagnation
after the previous peak, just wait and more moons will come without the help of Willy bots of any sort.
803  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where to invest? on: July 30, 2014, 12:16:45 PM
Don't invest your btc but just put them into a cold storage wallet and hold them.
If you want you could use a little percent of your btc to have fun trading the bubbles once every 1-2 years.

805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The [Big] Bagholders Reversal Thread on: July 30, 2014, 12:03:02 PM
I have bought some dogecoin when they were valued 110, now they are worth 1/3 and I feel a bagholder
even if I didn't invested a big amount of bitcoins in it.
How to fix? I don't know, the community is great but the sell pressure is really high due to the billions of coins mined.
806  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie here on: July 30, 2014, 05:56:46 AM
If you aren't in a hurry just visit the forum daily and do some posts, at least one a day (or 14 every two weeks)
and you will eventually advance in rank and in the meantime gain some knowledge of the bitcoin world.
When you will have some more posts you can join a signature campaign and earn some satoshis.
807  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where does a newbie start? on: July 30, 2014, 05:15:35 AM
I have moderate prior computer knowledge, and understand bitcoin mining somewhat, where can I obtain more information? Where should I start as far as mining rigs go? I want to put money into at least 2 units operating on 500-700 watts each and expand from there if i'm doing well. I'd probably build the units myself as I have always built my own computers, but mining rigs seem a little different.

I was looking at these machines made by asic... they seem pricey but all pre-built computers are..

http://extremeasic.com/shop/coincraft-rig-2ths/

This is my personal advice, don't buy any mining hardware, if you have some dollars to invest buy bitcoins directly because mining isn't profitable anymore.
808  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor first edition unboxing on: July 29, 2014, 08:06:33 PM
I just unboxed the highly anticipated pre-order version of the bitcoin trezor hardware wallet.

Enjoy, feedback is much appreciated!

This wallet with the "first edition" writing will be valued alot in the future in my opinion, expecially if the trezors will became popular, take care of it  Cheesy

I listened to the podcasts and entered the magic word for each of those podcasts

How is that possible, you can only enter the magic word of the last podcast right?

Edit: you can go back 4 days apparently.

Yep that is correct, you have 4 days after the podcast was released, to submit the magic word.

I was struggling because the magic word of a last week podcast was correct but not valid, didn't know they expire so early.
810  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 when? on: July 29, 2014, 01:06:46 PM
10K Is not possible. Quantum computers will destroy bitcoins. These computers will be 1000 times faster than current super computer.

Bitcoin is still evolving, there are many coders at work and if a quantum computer will ever put at risk its integrity, they will fix the problem.
Here is a link which can be useful if you want to know more about it:

813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero (MRO) Speculation thread on: July 29, 2014, 12:52:00 PM
Is this the Monero Wall Observer Thread? Cheesy

A 19 btc/ 4325 XMR wall @450 has just recently been placed.  I imagine that this one like the last 54 btc wall @460 a few hours ago is real and not used as a pump.

In what exchange did you see the wall, I noticed a 15btc on Poloniex but maybe I came too late.
814  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's a sign of the impending... on: July 29, 2014, 12:47:43 PM
I hope for the shopkeeper that the ATM was insured, I didn't google about it but I think they are worth almost $4000.

EDIT: more than $4000   https://lamassu.is/
815  Economy / Speculation / Re: Follow My Call on: July 29, 2014, 12:43:45 PM
What you guys may don't get is the fact that all the butthurt wall street investors are watching Bitcoin with tiger eyes about to jump in on the gazelles (aka weak hands) to get themselves some cheap ass meat.

Wall street investors are in the bitcoin business since months in my opinion, they won't come all together pumping the price all at once.
816  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price are you going to cash out your BTC stash on: July 29, 2014, 07:20:07 AM
I won't sell ever my btc to FIAT but I'll start buying some stuff when the value will reach a stability, probably when adoption will be completed.
817  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: General Advice to someone new on: July 29, 2014, 07:13:05 AM
Remember that the bitcointalk accounts can be bought and sold.
Don't trust even the hero members but use always escrows if you want to trade something in the market.
818  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Games on: July 29, 2014, 07:09:21 AM
You can try Huntercoin, the first human minable cryptocurrency:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=435170.0

After you have collected some coins you can exchange them for btc, at the moment 1 HUC is about 4000 Satoshis.
819  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin be around in 5 years? If so, what's its price? on: July 29, 2014, 05:29:21 AM
There are much more probability for bitcoin to be over 10000$ than to be 0$ in my opinion,
the risk in this type of investment is big but the huge hypothetical gain is worth it.
820  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will crash to $30!!! on: July 28, 2014, 02:51:36 PM
Haha, not only does this guy come across as an absolute cunt, he said it was going to $30 just before the $1200 peak.

What a twat.

This is one of the funniest fails I have ever read, I would like to congratulate him for the awesome prediction.
