801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SLVR: The First ERC20 Token Backed by Silver! on: August 17, 2017, 03:55:01 AM
Ooooor... and i'm just going out on a limb, you could just buy silver bullion with your ETH/BTC and skip the token entirely.  Offering at 60% below spot sounds quite suspect, and I'd like to be wrong but can't fathom why a functioning mine would do something like this.

My gut says the ore for the proposed coins will never even materialize, much less actually be refined and minted.  There's stronger ICO gambles that could net 60 percent returns that have a lot less spec and potential failure modes than this one.
802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PRE-SALE 30% BONUS] MASS Token - Masternode And Staking Service on: August 17, 2017, 03:27:49 AM
Compared to many fledgling projects, I've gotta say i'm impressed with the level of forum communication i've seen so far.  Lots of projects will just make one TBD post and then expect everyone to shove into a slack to get new non-updates.  Just seeing you're engaging is refreshing.
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ARK - Blockchains Interoperability with SmartBridge 🔹 ARK on BiTTREX 🔹 on: August 15, 2017, 11:24:06 PM
How do I know if my delegate vote is being counted?  I see it in the explorer but i'm unclear if i actually delegated my full balance or not.  I was on sharkpool for a full day with nothing generated, just moved to Yin.
804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: ▆ - ▆ - ▆ ZenCash Avatar and Signature Campaign ▆ - ▆ - ▆ [FULL] on: August 15, 2017, 02:07:24 PM
Another week another valid bounty payout.  Thanks again, and as I've said before I'm glad to be able to help promote a project I believe in.
805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Vega 56/64 owners-report your Hashrate on: August 15, 2017, 02:04:42 PM
It certainly appears that Vega isn't the ground breaking hardware some thought it would be. It's looking like a good card for games/graphics but it's current power consumption relative to moderate hash boost isn't cost effective AT THIS TIME.

I expect over the coming months as miners and mods start to come out and be refined, combined with progressive price decreases as it ages it will become more attractive.

Still, right now, for the price you're better off pound for pound sticking with 1080tis or 480/580 for best price efficiency.
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: August 13, 2017, 04:10:46 AM
Once enough people realize that most of these ICOs are nothing but "hype and hope", they will eventually flock to projects that actually have working tech with real world uses (like BAY). BitBay has one of the most extensive lists of useful features in all of crypto. It is an extremely versatile and multifaceted coin. The amount of real world use cases for it are almost endless. BAY already has a WORKING decentralized market with unbreakable smart contracts. The upcoming rolling peg will just be icing on the cake. I'm not gonna give any names, but can somebody please give me a reasonable reason why other projects that would be considered competition, are worth more than BAY, when BAY is arguably better than all of them? It absolutely makes no sense.

If anybody isn't familiar with BAY, just go check out its "Wall of Features"

OR (and I fear more likely scenario) the ICO vaporware slowly becomes apparent over the next 6mo-2 years and all the investors dump, then cash out at a loss thus creating the SECOND great crypto crash.
807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - 1st Stable fork of Ethereum on: August 13, 2017, 04:05:47 AM
Is there some sort of graph or tree showing the history of EXP development? I need it for research purposes.

From a technical standpoint I'd think the git changelog should cover what you need.  From a broader marketing/community standpoint I don't know of any single point of reference, your best bet there would be referencing press releases or twitter in reverse chronological order.
808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 12, 2017, 04:27:38 AM
I do wish there was a decentralized witness propagation system though.  Gbyte is fast track on development, is truly unique in implementation and spot on for fostering market utility, however, decentralization is the name of the game in crypto.  I stake a few coins and would have no problem running a full node but if it doesn't add utility to the DAG it's pointless.
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Signatum - New Algorithm - Fair Launch - No Premine - Cryptopia on: August 12, 2017, 04:10:08 AM
Just another Shit coin clone for the devs to make money on.

Crow is using the money he is making to pay back prior debts.

"Just purchased the BURST to right the pool's balance issues, and also drop a bonus on the pool for the missed payouts in the recent past.

Thanks."

This project is going nowhere except for a few P&d's!

Good for him if he's making money, with no premine he had to hash it out the same as everyone else.  Regardless those who are buying are providing the value.  If the coin was being shilled like others recently (deeponion and waves come to mind) I'd be worried but this coin has some genuine community and market support.

If you don't like it... don't be involved.
810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Gbyte who is warried about it. on: August 12, 2017, 03:39:54 AM
Well that's great to hear, I'd hate for the bears to go to war with the bulls over gbyte, Chicago has enough problems already.
811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: TaaS — Tokenized Closed-End Fund on: August 10, 2017, 05:38:19 AM
Come on guys im a follower of Taas but I have 238 Taas and only receive 0.38 Eth aprox
I bought taas with 4 Eth when eth was 90/100$ by unit  so come on  !!!!!
Im very dissapointed .......If Only had my eth ....4* 300$ = 1200$ now
But with Taas 238* 2,40$ = 571$ + dividends 0.38 Eth about 80$ = 661 $
So BRAVO TAAS YOU MAKE POOR while you aRE MORÉ AND MORE RICH!!!!

But well Taas we can !!!!!

Another guy who know what is going on by making great calcs Wink I share the same point of view as you.

At that buyin price I'm figuring this was post-ico purchasing.  1 eth got about 100 taas depending how early you got in.

4 eth would = 400 taas, current low market price is ~$4 each, that gives a 1:1 valuation against the initial investment, add dividend and you're up whatever that amount is beyond had you just held ETH.

Even if the token price drops to $2 and eth is stable, over the course of a few years you should still recoup your initial cost pretty quick.  TAAS should be compared to market funds (stock market) for performance opposed to the incredibly volatile crypto market.

This one is a LONG play, if you're only looking for a quick gain/exit it's better to avoid entirely.
812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: August 10, 2017, 05:19:27 AM
The original snapshot was to occur August first but thanks to the BCC group deciding to mess with bitcoin that day and the ensuing panic they decided to delay.  Wisely I'd say, I've seen September 1st mentioned repeatedly as the new target but that's not definitive yet as far as I can tell.

Also the only CERTAIN way to redeem your coins post-snapshot right now is to hold SPR in a wallet you can access the private key from, so not an exchange.  That said, historically many exchanges have supported these splits in the past and it seems likely Bittrex will, but until they state they will nothing is certain.
813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty campaign - Lately waste of time and energy on: August 09, 2017, 05:19:42 PM
Absolutely agree.  I've had negative to mediocre experiences with EVERY bounty campaign I've tried to work on, with the mild exception of my current sig, although the Zen campaign is from a semi-established project AND the rewards are relatively small.

Granted this is the first sig I've had for a project is followed beforehand and actually have good expectations for it.

I think the key point that bounties be paid proactively (weekly, monthly, etc...) Instead of a one time like sun in the"future" AND that they be paid via an existing currency (BTC/ETH being the obvious choices) would likely all but eliminate the scamming/lack of follow through many projects have been plagued with.

Most of the ICO bounties that are failing I see as a side effect of what are actually very shallow and destined to fail projects that are just leeching money from the community for projects they KNOW they can't or won't deliver.
814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zcash v Zencash on: August 09, 2017, 01:02:51 AM
I'm a little concerned seeing multiple pumpishZEN threads recently.  I'm seeing the same for WAVES lately too, another coin i like, but when the low ranked hype/fudsters start posting repeated threads almost daily it reads as a warning sign to me.

Functionally I believe ZEN has a strong future.
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it worth to buy Waves now? on: August 09, 2017, 12:16:54 AM
Yes it's a good choice to buy waves now. I bought 300 waves few months ago for few euro's. Yesterday I bought another 200 waves for 4,50 euro each. Waiting for it to be at least 25 euro each Smiley

Right on man!!  I remember on another thread when WAVES was at $3.10 and I was telling people it's a good time to buy!! Maybe this was a week ago, anyways I remember the comments of some of the people saying "I will wait when it drops back to $2 and then buy".  LoL!! Guess what fools, it's over $5 now and you missed the boat when I said to buy!!  bOnG sAgGiN!!  Reading the same comments now!!

For now.

Actually I'm rather fond of WAVES, but really the DEX is more or less it's only unique AND functional (sort of) feature at the moment.  Sooner or later either ICOs will start collapsing and proving to be vaporware or the cash to continually funnel into ever more niche projects will dry up and that game will end.  I suspect growing regulation will add some pressure too.

I expect there will be price regression in the not too distant future, so gloating over the recent reasonable gains is premature AND the daily booster threads feels like there's substantial PnD type hype right now.
816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: confused on: August 08, 2017, 11:44:19 PM
Variance among 1070s is minimal.  Focus on the cooling solution and total price over the hash power and that should make picking pretty easy.
817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Signatum - New Algorithm - Fair Launch - No Premine - Cryptopia on: August 08, 2017, 11:28:15 PM
Funny that rewards cut in half AND the hash power dropped by almost half.  Although not a 1:1 trade off there's still solid potential to mine this.  Personally I'm planning for this when it goes PoS, I see SIGT as a privacy focused Bitbay competitor.
818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: gpu bubble well and truly bursting on: August 08, 2017, 11:14:09 PM
Quote
With 6 card you can earn $20/day right now.

How?

by selling the cards and buying a coin.

20 dollars a day is fictional.

From 8 mixed nvidia cards over two weeks I made >$1000 off SIGT.  Granted that's a unicorn and not the norm, but it was nearly $100/day average.  With a handful of windfalls like that and low level baseline mining inbetween it's certainly worth it, now is a poor time to get IN to mining though, I really lucked out getting my cards before the summer rush at sane prices.

Even with all that I got in as a hobby with limited loss, like playing Pokemon or Magic, the goods involved retain some value so even if you grow bored you're not out all your money when you quit.
819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZenCash: Private, Secure, Resilient CryptoCurrency with zk-SNARKs on: August 08, 2017, 10:06:46 PM
Welcome to the "team".  Zen had a turbulent birth but I truly foresee this becoming the truly innovative ZEC coin.  Zcash is an impressive fundamental platform, and with the right spin and attention to genuine technical development needs I foresee good things.

Well before the ZCL for ZEN has presented a solid and intelligent path forward (well except for that ONE guy)  Smiley Cheesy
820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves Future! on: August 08, 2017, 06:13:15 AM
I think I was clear in my previous posts!!  You're a hero member!! You should know this shit by now!!

I could be wrong but i'm seeing something of a trend with hero/legendary members posting redundant/gibberish/low knowledge posts lately.  Many of them coincidentally wear identical sig/bounty banners.

I'd guess it's either a long play of a multi-account lurker gaming the system for bounties OR sold/compromised accounts being used for the same purpose.

Either way makes me sad to see how long it will take for me to legitimately achieve that rank.
