821  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Confused by 0 shares accepted on GUIminer [SOLVED] on: May 08, 2013, 08:29:01 PM
I'm running into the same problem except I'm using BTC Guild's version of GUI Miner and I'm not getting any shares completed. Though when I use it with coinotron it works so I guess I'm just going to stick with them mining terra coins.
822  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 1 Free Bitcoin Giveaway! on: May 08, 2013, 04:06:10 PM
Did they actually give away the BTC as promised or not? Or are they still calculating it? Interesting to see what happened after it ended yesterday. I hope OP doesn't try and scam people.

Free bump.

Junk coins don't sound very useful to me Grin

825  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The newbie's forum on: May 07, 2013, 07:59:34 PM
Some people definitely do that. However, I've been allowed to leave the newbie forum for over a week now, and I still stay here and do most of my posts here. Its my favorite forum:).
826  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do Not Do Business With JetSet220 - on: May 07, 2013, 07:58:47 PM
If you wanted to help people more you may want to give them more details about how the scam works. And the mods won't just block his IP by reading your post, you'll need to give more evidence and stuff like that.
827  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Still wondering how to get out your newbie status? Take a look at Devcoin (DVC) on: May 07, 2013, 04:23:32 PM
I'm already out of my newbie status, however I am still interested in checking out Devcoin they are a very interesting currency. The thing I'm interested in is if you can put all your hashing power to Devcoins or to Bitcoins how does the profitability of Devcoins compare to Bitcoins. I'm thinking they'll be a better deal once the hashing power of BTC goes way up from Asics.
828  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin target $50 on: May 07, 2013, 04:18:56 PM
I see $50 as being very rare and having a very small chance of occurring. Though I know that if it does occur, I'll be buying up because in my opinion that is a great deal and BTC are definitely worth buying at that price unless they do something extreme like making the currency illegal.
829  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do I automatically become a non-noob after I meet the requirements? on: May 07, 2013, 04:15:28 PM

830  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Pool software on: May 07, 2013, 04:13:52 PM
There is a very large variety of mining pool software out there (GUIMiner, CGMiner, ect.) Which one is the best depends on what you are interested in doing?
831  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin to fall to US$70-80 and further to US$ 50 on: May 07, 2013, 12:50:53 AM
Lolol, I highly doubt that will happen, I guess I will just need to watch over the next day and see if that will actually happen, the reaction on this thread could be quite interesting if it does and I'll be wanting the information of your source, but for now I highly doubt that Smiley
832  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My bitcoins have been stolen on: May 07, 2013, 12:49:15 AM
Why would you let someone do that? Really? Unless they are someone you know well never let them plug something into your computer and if you are planning on doing that, have a separate computer (maybe a separate wallet.dat) that has no BTC on it for people to plug in stuff when trading and then clear it afterwards.
833  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Going To Visit Butterfly Labs On Tuesday on: May 07, 2013, 12:47:19 AM
You should probably schedule a visited because I'm pretty sure while business's even if they are required to have operating hours also have the right to 'refuse service to anyone' even if you come in during their business hours. If you are in the area and planning to visit, then make sure to try and call ahead. However, include some pictures if you can, similar to how Avalon labs released pictures.
834  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Storing wallet away for 5 to 10 years. on: May 07, 2013, 12:44:16 AM
Lol this seems like a good idea actually, I'm tempted to buy a few BTC and do just that with them. I think that over the years it would be interesting to see what happens. Make sure to keep it safe though.

Topic: Storing wallet away for 5 to 10 years.

Don't forget where you leave it. Anyone read that story of the person who had 4,600 BitCoin from back in 2011, put on flash drive, forgot about it, remembered he had it during the recent April BitCoin boom, but lost it? Will try to find link.

That would such. O'well he probably did not spend more than a few thousand dollars to acquire those BitCoins so it is a descent amount lost but not too much. That sux though I would love to have over $1m in BTC ;p
836  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A very good guide on how to build a Bitcoin Mining Rig Cluster on: May 06, 2013, 10:13:35 PM
Lol was reading the guide and then I recognized how old it is. Its a good guide for GPU mining, sadly though GPU mining is becoming less profitable. I wish I had joined & had money when bitcoin GPU mining began to grow.
837  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WTS 6.5 BTB for 10 BTC on: May 06, 2013, 10:09:36 PM
No offense but this sounds a little like a spam post, I don't know why that's just what it struck me as. But even if its legit, it belongs in the marketplace section.
838  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: FIRST TO PM ME WINS .2 BTC on: May 06, 2013, 09:57:21 PM
Lol nice contest. I would recommend doing this contest more often:)
839  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone have a link to a guide on how to start solomining scrypt-based coins on: May 05, 2013, 11:03:48 PM
I don't have a link but I'm wondering why would you want to solo mine coins, you probably won't get a profit if you go for the well known ones as the difficulty is so high unless you have an insane setup and for the lesser known ones, the risk is pretty high.
840  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bullcoin - Anti-bear policy? on: May 05, 2013, 11:01:10 PM
I feel like many people want it to restart because now they know about it they can get in it and make a lot of money like the very early BTC adopters did, assuming the price were to replicate. I think its fine how it is and it should be interesting to see how it plays out.
