I know they need funds to fund themselves, obviously. But it's insane to own 99.9% of the tokens in existence as a funding excuse. It's way too much. Because these funds will return eventually to exchanges and not even early adopters will make any substantial profit for years even if the project is succesful. A good comparison would be bitcoin mining asics. They're so expensive that the payback period can be as long as a year or more, and with difficulty constantly increasing, you'll never get to make any profit. The exact situation is with AMPs, the sooner the price will signifiantly increase, the sooner they'll dump more amps into the market to "fund" themselves and that will maintain a balance, meaning you won't get to make any profit unless you're an early adopter, and that's medium term prospect, 6-12 months.
Exaggerating a little bit with that 99.9% aren't we? Your comment is devoid of any actual evidence. The fact of the matter is that people who purchased AMPs in the first sale back in April 2015 have made a hefty return already. AMPs back then sold for approximately 1000 sats a piece, and they sold for less on Bittrex all the way down to ~600 sats. Currently, at 31.5k sats that gives a BTC return of at least 31.5x. Also during this time BTC went from ~$230 USD to $620 USD, which is a 2.69x return. This gives a combined minimum ROI of 84.91x. This occurred when there was double the amount of AMPs outstanding. Under your logic, there should already be dumpers dumping this back to the original 1000 sat levels. Obviously, that is not happening. What is happening is the exact opposite. Nobody is selling from the original sale as indicated by the extremely low market volume pre-secondary AMP sale. I seriously doubt the majority of current buyers will be selling for less than their purchase price, because they know the returns produced for the original sale participants. The Synereo tech stack has huge potential to radically disrupt and transform the social media market, "smart / social" contracts, and the entire fundamental basis of the internet as we know it today. You'd be a fool to think differently and underestimate the ability of this team, community, and technology.

I'm still buying AMP as I expect it to hit at least $500,000,000 over the next 36 months which even being very conservative is a good return.
Do you know when the Synereo steemit like site is operational and people can make an account ? I went on Synereo page but couldn't find any date. I read alpha release at end of Q3. We are Q4 but I still don't see any release. There is no "site". Synereo is a decentralized application platform. The first dApps will be the social network, Synereo, and LivelyGig. The alpha is released. Continued work on bug fixing and docker integration is underway. The existing code is on Github. Visit the Synereo slack channel for more information on running a node. Thanks for your reply. Finally someone that replies . I couldn't find the information I wanted on the site (maybe I just didn't understand). But so this social network ... you can probably make an account ... how do I make one ? I will need to install an app for this in the future ? So there will be no site like steemit or facebook ? That's correct. There will be no centralized website. You will have to run a Synereo node to take part in the network. The plan is to make running a Synereo node as easy as downloading, installing, and running an app. You log in to your account via the app.

which people keep selling way under current ico price The same type of people who sold at sub 1000 sat prices after the last crowdsale. Enjoy the cheap AMPs.

I am not a big fan of Facebook. It seemed to empower a type of herd mentality, where the most "popular" person in a crowd of other Facebook-using-people became the loudest voice. MySpace seemed to lift people based more on merit, and allowed a person to give a type of text statement and/or their artwork or music and people could just give an opinion not caring about their opinion being voted on by the biggest in the herd. So, I realize FB is a joy for a lot of people, but one thing that would draw people away from it if there was some kind of monetary reward for using a variation of it.
Are there any currencies like that now?

all i see is misrepresented buzzwords. that ultimately explain nothing.
anyway.
just checked their website.. LOL selling millions of coins before any software is created.. well played. shame the numbers are fake. saying they raised $3m already. but then doing a hackathon to get people to make the software. and then giving only group $120k well played.
shame the coins are actually speculative.. because their is no coin cap. or mining process to create them. they only have value if people want to use them within the synereo "services". basically: no cap, no deflation, no real world value/utility. think of it like time shares of a holiday resort.
in short. im not excited, its just another alt with centralized services playing off meaningless buzzwords like blockchain2.0 without understanding the basic.
if only these altcoiners wasted less time inventing fake buzzwords, less time on their prelaunch sell off schemes. and spent more time actually developing something that is functionally new, inspiring and ofcourse useful
goodluck, but time to move this topic to the altcoin section.
Unfortunately, you don't know what you are talking about... 1 - Nothing about Synereo is centralized. The social network, tech stack, and R-Chain are open-source, and compose the completely decentralized protocol. 2 - There is a cap on the amount of AMPs issued. 3 - You can earn AMPs by running a node to support the network. This is basically a form of PoW distribution. 4 - The 120k is a grant provided to start-ups looking to use the Synereo tech stack for their business. 5 - The software is being developed by a whole team of individuals, and some parts of the software have been in development for over five years. If you want to learn the facts, head on over to the Synereo thread. PS: You need to make your signature line bigger. Do not take any information given on this forum on face value. Please do your own due diligence and respect what is written

My own opinion is that he reemerged after realising the terrible BTC block size and transaction times so he created ETH. It makes sense.
Satoshi died so he could be reincarnated as Greg Meredith to work on Synereo's R-Chain. Get it right.

Oh I don't have a PC to run a wallet, I'll have to sell my Trump, sound familiar.
As a foot note, Trump has the potential if the dev's get their act together. Posting regular info is sooooo important to keep investors comfortable.
The Devs have obviously been abducted by the communists.

I can see this coin price going lunar in 2017 like ETH and XMR did for 2016
Same here. Can't Stamp the AMP!

Nothing stopping this coin from being popular when Trumps the prez.
If Trump becomes President this coin might go to the moon.
Exactly, this. Trump is going to win this election. This coin is going to be around a long time, and imo, become more popular during his eight year term.

Trump will win. After debate most online poll show Trump as clear winner. People support him, but media has been trying to talk down him, they failed miserably.

If Mark Zuckerberg offered you HUGE MONEY for your SYNEREO, would dev sell?
Sell what? Good answer.

Volumes looking good after the debates. $8,000. Price is ok.
Will this coin actually correspond with Trumps political success?
I think it absolutely will if he loses.... Nice to see that it seems to bee flourishing with his, in my opinion, good enough performance last night.
Trump's a winner. Trumpcoin's a winner. fat pig
