821  Economy / Reputation / Re: Strange behaviour of too many alts at once. on: August 18, 2023, 04:03:16 PM
Here are hyperlinks to all the accounts involved for those who want to tag them. At a minimum a neutral tag is warranted(RED IMO). Curious what others think.
Thank you for posting this and making it easy. I think red is definitely a good way to help others and non-members of the community when visiting this page to have warnings posted right in front of their faces. It's the easiest way to make sure that there are less people that gets scammed.
822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you will do? on: August 18, 2023, 07:35:30 AM
It's impossible for someone not to take a loss of anything. That's just impossible. You know that gambling would be a roller coaster, and there's always a guaranteed loss before a guaranteed win. It's all about statistics.

Would you happen to have any update OP on what you will do?
823  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is your selling plan in the bull run? on: August 17, 2023, 04:34:03 PM
It will be tough to predict, knowing that you cannot do anything about it once you are there, and you might never know what your "emotions" go through then. It will be hard to sell once you feel those "bull" parts.

Since it's your first time, what would happen is you will ride and believe that it will be in increasing effect. It could go on and on in price, and you can never go down feeling. But it will.

It's almost always the case but since you haven't learned or have your opinion on it after 18 months here, I think that's what will happen to you.

Don't try to time it. It's going to be difficult.
824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think About the Shifting of Bitcoin ETF Approval on: August 17, 2023, 04:23:00 PM
I'm thinking of it this way. It's somehow the part where we couldn't understand why they were doing it and making it possible to accumulate more BTC for the people who believe it can increase in price. For sure we cannot know the real reason but at least we can do something about what we are going to do about it.

More and more time would be great for us if we really want to accumulate more. It's best to maximize the profit opportunity if it launches.
825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Appropriate percentage of income for gambling on: August 15, 2023, 09:11:46 AM
I think the poll could be better, bracketed, and not "less than 30%". It needs to be more specific. 5% is still less than 30% so we are still determining if the members here are sarcastic or just playing with it. You should change it to 5-10% of income or something like that. It's better and more precise when those are the choices.

I can never think of using 30% unless that's your disposable amount, and that's your choice. I hope people who regularly do this can manage their money wisely.
826  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What I think about buying and keeping USDT/BUSD due to our recent bad economy. on: August 15, 2023, 05:38:38 AM
I am having quite a hard time understanding what you are trying to say. I thought it was USDT and BUSD pairs, but it's with your fiat.

Do you mean NGN? You are pairing it with USDT-NGN and BUSD-NGN

I think you should clear it out in the post because USDT/BUSD means USDT-BUSD to traders and the fluctuations are not that big there.

I saw this and it gives you nearly the price that you are talking about which is ~780
https://www.coinbase.com/converter/busd/ngn

It's best to keep and hold to what you think won't affect your economy since you are thinking about that. I think that's pretty bold and smart to do.
827  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ~If you must trade~ on: August 15, 2023, 03:20:42 AM
For the members who said that it's about emotion, I agree with you. Most people, not just traders, lose it when emotions are involved. Imagine someone having that feeling brewing inside them, and when it pops, it's just not under control. It's dangerous when we are talking about emotions.

Many people agree that it's one of the causes that could make you lose a trade and be emotional and feel that you could overcome it because you have thought of it before. It's dangerous to rely on emotions.
828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Latest Game in my Country: Bottle Flip on: August 15, 2023, 03:17:04 AM
How is this topic related to gambling or gambling discussion? This is off-topic.
I'm not sure how moderators would handle it, but since he included real money in the game, it's somehow okay? That would be the decision of the mods.

Initially, I was thinking of this as an application game where you could bet real money and just in the 50/50 chances or something. Like coins, where there are only heads or tails. It's probably more complicated than that, but it's a start.
829  Economy / Gambling / Re: HIT A JACKPOT on BITCASINO.IO - (I GOT PAID!!!) MY JOURNEY HERE. on: August 14, 2023, 04:03:27 PM
I just watched the replay, and it's amazing to watch someone win with so much. That's really high and I'm amazed how lucky you have been.

I can’t believe it!! The excitement is hitting in full effect!!
I'm happy for you! Enjoy it! It's really a reputable casino and good to play around with.
830  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SPORTSBET.io falsely accuses me of multi-accounting, and REFUSES to pay my money on: August 14, 2023, 03:43:20 PM
I think they have flagged you because your identity might have been used by another account? Or have you had any lost accounts that did KYC before? I'm not sure why they would flag your account if there's no infractions or something.
831  Economy / Economics / Re: People don't understand the problem with monetary system. on: August 14, 2023, 12:04:31 PM
Where did you quote this OP? I don't think there's a link or something. There's no source. Is it a book or something?

Maybe people will realize once it has shown the problem, and they could feel it. People tend to be short-sighted and deny these types of things.
832  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with Quantum Computing and AI on: August 14, 2023, 06:10:54 AM
The website looks very well made, but the contents are probably AI generated and even the pictures. Upon searching a couple of the names on the team, no one even pops up. I don't think it's something worth pursuing. If they are old as they say they are, why is it just now that they show their product etc?
833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What should I do if the cloudbet casino withdrawal is delayed for more than 56 h on: August 12, 2023, 07:40:05 AM
I suggest you wait for it, as others have said. A lot of people have shown that there are cases that are resolved here in the forum.

Aside from waiting, you could try and do other stuff that would make your mind off it for a while, and if it's still not resolved, it's time to update here again. Whatever happens, it's best to edit your post so it would not be considered spam.
834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Free badge on Debank (Potential airdrop) on: August 12, 2023, 07:09:05 AM
It's just now that I read of Debank and if it's a competitor of Metamask and the like, I think I would like to give it a shot.

Does it interact with the hardware wallets out there like Trezor and Ledger wallets? I have issues with Metamask and it's time to change IMO.
835  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is It Normal For A Site To Ask For Your Wallet Address? on: August 12, 2023, 06:46:46 AM
Wallet addresses are ok to give, just not the private keys and phrases. That would give them control to your wallet. It's definitely something that you could give but then if you do that, it would connect you to that account. This is worrisome if you are worried about your identity or something but if you are not doing anything bad or something to worry about, that's definitely ok.
836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has nothing to do with crime on: August 11, 2023, 03:30:54 PM
I think it's the wrong way of thinking about it. It's not promoting crime but it's attracting users for it to be used in illegal stuff in transactions. Well, I think you would find that cash is being used more with illegal stuff because it's harder to track. For BTC, it's all public and you just have to connect the dots, but it's definitely hard.

People should learn why it is not promoting it and it's always the people that are using it in illegal ways that are evil.
837  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big SEC Decision on Bitcoin ETFs: What's Your Price Prediction? on: August 11, 2023, 02:47:02 PM
Lol! Not sure why people are so bullish about an ETF but it doesn't bring any real value on the table. It's just a method of investment that mimics the price of an asset without buying or selling that asset. So I don't see any positive impact or liquidity inflow in the crypto market due to ETF approval.
It's probably about SEC allowing it is the big deal. A lot of people of course follow SEC and see that their decision is something to follow. Having that type of exposure to those who don't follow cryptocurrencies in the first place would maybe try and HODL or learn about crypto. I think it is a big deal.
838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Peer pressure as a substantial gambling catalyst. on: August 11, 2023, 02:15:15 PM
Hmm. I think "peer pressure" is more of a close people kind of thing and not the influencers that appear to ask for something towards you that you are "obliged" to gamble or something.

It's better to know why you are doing it and not because you are "forced" to do it.

My experience with this is not a lot. I'm surrounded by people who are curious about gambling but wouldn't really gamble or influence you to gamble all the time. It's best to know that you are doing it because you really want to and are not forced to.
839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots fever on: August 11, 2023, 06:16:29 AM
I have heard most of the people that I know who gamble have stories that have somewhat a similarity. The part where they almost "gave up" but then a miracle occurred. They won a high amount of multiplier and they are overjoyed. It's just so similar to other people's stories and I just wondered what's the similarity.

The thing that I have noticed is that it's always going to be "one or two" instances that they won a high amount. The reason for that memory is probably because it's always the only memory that they remember that is ecstatic. Imagine someone winning a lot, that's a mark on their life that they are going to remember for the rest of their lives and that's the story that could lead to a positive thing or the other.

The addiction and the stories that they have probably intertwined because they want to feel that same high and then end up losing more than what they won. I think that's almost always the case.

I do love slots but it's sometimes not my day so I just stop. It is addicting for sure.
840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are new altcoins being too risky? Current market trend on: August 11, 2023, 02:53:55 AM
The better term for what others are doing, that invests in new altcoins and expects a significant return, is gambling. They are just risking their money and want to have that return.

I think the initial launch gets the price dipped because of the people selling it. I think it's pretty much expected because many people who have invested in something want to get that initial return that they want and probably will not HODL for a long time. It's expected for those short-term investors.

As for the long term, that's another risk that you can take but as long as you have the right mindset, you can really focus on just letting it be and possibly having that "chance" to earn/profit.
