841  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex - my BTC withdrawal is pending for 25 mins on: October 17, 2017, 07:02:55 PM
Am starting to dislike Bittrex since when they started asking for all of the documents in the name of "Extended verification", even if you do that, they will hold your verification for like a month. Its better to shift to some other exchange.

I've never had the same issue with Bittrex. I got rid of my Bitcoin cash using Bittrex and I have used it to invest in a couple of altcoins as well. So far, I've really had no hiccups. I've just had to put in some personal info once for the verification. Since then, nothing.
842  Economy / Speculation / Re: CNBC Audience Predicts $10k Bitcoin Price as Dotcom Says ‘Hodl’ on: October 17, 2017, 06:13:11 AM
i hate it when everyone starts speculating about bitcoin when it is rising. they are all silent when price is low or dropping even, and they all become overnight experts as soon as price went up. either call doomsdays or moonsdays!
and people like Jamie Dimon are benefiting from all of this by getting undeserved attention and even manipulates the market using that. i wouldn't be surprised if i learned they have their margin traders ready to go.

Agreed. The Bitcoin price is so manipulated by the media that it is dangerous at times. During the China incident, only bad news articles were coming out. During the recent rise, only good articles came out about btc's all time high. It's very stupid how this entire game works.
843  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why so many currencies? on: October 17, 2017, 06:05:18 AM
Hi All,
Please help me understand in plain English how will we benefit from so many currencies?
I see so many startups with decentralized blockchain ideas with their own crypto currency.
Today I purchased oatmeal directly from a mill at their website.
This mill sells its products thru grocers and other online stores as well.
They probably gave 3% to the credit card company, which they could reduce by using blockchain.
But if every store and every business starts creating their own currency, then I will have to go thru an exchange to convert BTC or ETH to that coin to make some purchase.
Then we would need miners to process all those transactions in various coins.
Why can't they just use ETH? Just like all IPOs use dollars.
Thanks in advance

The different currencies you are referring to are what I believe are ICOs. Think of ICO as an example idea posed to the public to solve a certain problem using the same technology behind crypto currency. For example, enjincoin is an ICO in which a large gaming corporation is implementing a coin into a community of gamers using the blockchain technology.
844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How bitcoin works ? on: October 17, 2017, 06:02:58 AM
How bitcoin works? From where bitcoin come from?

On the very simplest terms of just a currency, think of how ledgers work. When I pay you, my ledger decreases while yours increases. The same applies for the opposite. This transaction ID is appended to the blockchain which is a large list of these transactions, and they are confirmed through mining.
845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Worried about btc future on: October 17, 2017, 06:00:11 AM
I see a lot of optimism about bitcoin, which is understandable seeing the price recently.
But I have to admit I'm a little worried about the long term future of btc.
The major problems if the currency still haven't been dealt with. I see 2 major ones:

-Block size. Which makes the delay and fees of transaction rise very fast. Smaller transactions are more and more difficult to make.
-The centralization of the market. China got low cost electricity, which make them by far the most bitcoin mining capable.
-And maybe others that I'm not aware of.

Another thing: The Hard forks that are oddly getting much more frequent than before. (BCH, BTG, Segwitx2 etc...) It almost looks like "attacks" in order to divide us. Now called "airdrops" by the community. Even though they're supposed to solve some of the problems.

All in all, this makes me really worried about btc future. I've been a strong holder since 2014, and I made quite a lot of money with bitcoins, but I begin to doubt now, even though the price is crushing ATM. Please help me keeping faith. Or should I switch to another currency ? Really thinking about ETH recently.

With your second point:

It seems like more people regardless of the amount of splits end up depending on Bitcoin anyway. We can tell this by the amount of people who quickly dumped their Bitcoin cash instantly to get more Bitcoin. Furthermore, the support of the splits aren't as widespread as the support of Bitcoin itself.
846  Economy / Speculation / Re: Interesting day... Telling on: October 17, 2017, 05:57:50 AM
Maybe you should track every price fluctuations by the cents and not dollars mate, no one is interested in any price change less than $500 anymore.

As the community grows people will expect more from Bitcoin, it was less than a year ago when I was checking on my wallet and seeing instead of

$2000 I had $2007 I was happy and I knew other people are too, now my $12000 is $30000.

I would argue that a lot of people who don't have as much as you do are very interested in the micro fluctuations in Bitcoin as well. People who are also looking to buy huge volumes want to use every dip to their advantage in order to get the most out of price rises.
847  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin a Bubble? on: October 17, 2017, 05:45:45 AM
ICOs, yes. Crypros, yes. Bitcoin? Not necessarily. When the others do crash, Bitcoin is just going to become even more valuable. It has the advantage of being the first and the established one (and specifically less manipulated than Ether over the ICO craze)

Isn't the price of Bitcoin also heavily dependent on the price of other crypto currencies in the market though? I don't understand how a majority of the market can go down while Bitcoin is the lone survivor.
848  Economy / Economics / Re: Signaling Growing Bitcoin Acceptance, Colombia Gets Second Cryptocurrency Conf on: October 17, 2017, 05:44:00 AM
Good for them. Not only would they get the chance to hold bitcoins, if it becomes legal there, their diaspora might be able to use it to send remittances home.

I sure wish them well. Is Colombia part of the Pacific Alliance? Would be great if that bloc really takes off.

Columbia is indeed a part of the Pacific alliance. The more the word gets spread out about bitcoin, the higher the price goes, and the more lives it affects. This is a great introduction of the crypto currency into a new field of operation.
849  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Accepting bitcoin for service on: October 17, 2017, 05:42:09 AM
Hi dude, you would have to purchase a software to enable your system to accept Bitcoin payments. I suggest you research on it for the best possible way. I see that as a lucrative business to think that Bitcoin's value has skyrocketed this past week. Good luck on that endeavor! Just ensure you know when to hold or let go of your Bitcoins. Otherwise you will be left with close to nothing but pure learning.

He doesn't even need to purchase. There are a lot of services that actually do this for free. They're all available online; some as marketplace sites themselves, others as api integration into your own website.
850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: when will bitcoin halve - bitcoin halving price ? on: October 17, 2017, 01:34:23 AM
hey guys, the date when will bitcoin halve ? What do you think?

We always get crashes over 40% if you look back 4 years.

What is your bet of a bitcoin halving price event ?

Have a guess?

As of now, I highly doubt we'll see a tank that strong. This drop won't be here for the next month. The biggest thing that could happen to Bitcoin was it being banned by China, which has basically already happened. Unless all countries decide to screw BTC over and not accept it at all, I see no way for BTC to tank a large amount.
851  Economy / Speculation / Re: $6000 comming through on: October 16, 2017, 07:15:37 AM
All a board the hype train! $6000 is really close but btcg is still out there. I do believe it might reach or break through $6000 by November. What a great time to be alive!

We are very close to that $6000 mark but I feel that in this month only we mostly may reach that target.

I think it'll take less than a month. We were super close with the bullish run to 5,800. There was some corrections, but I think right after those are taken care off, we'll see another rise that goes past 6000 and sets an all time high. There will probably be corrections after that as well.
852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need to sell BCC before SegWit2x on: October 16, 2017, 06:56:32 AM
Hi friends,
I want to hear your opinion.
I have some BCC..
Need to sell BCC before SegWit2x?
or need exchange to BTC only?
Thx.

It's a good idea to exchange your BTC to BCC especially before segwit2x. The price of Bitcoin has also been rising while BCC hasn't been doing as well. I suggest you get your BCH converted as soon as possible because it will give you more Bitcoin gold as well has more overall value in your wallet.
853  Economy / Economics / Re: Does this mean Cash will be extinct? on: October 15, 2017, 08:46:10 PM
Digital cash will replace folding money very soon it is well known fact. Mainly in UE, US and Asia we can observe huge technologicall advance.
Currently people use overflow so in few years the cash could be extinct. The question is what is a bitcoin role in that theater?

Very soon? Probably not. Digital cash does not have the same span and reach as physical cash does. This is because everyone needs some device to represent and access this cash. I'd say that the both can live peacefully together. There's no need to remove something that's been working for a while.
854  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chart of the Day | Bitcoin's price correcting to $5500 on: October 15, 2017, 08:44:07 PM
Its not that they are not supportive about this bullish market. People are just cashing out and taking profits. I think this is normal and we can say that we have already overcome the $5000 psychological barrier. And now $6000 is new one. Really hard now to sell and take profits specially when the price peak at $6000 and trading at a stable price of $5600-$5700. So the dip is nothing significant, the fork is still far and its the main driving for this pump. Once we get closer the price will surely rise once more. Getting closer to $6000-$6500.

Yup. With any rise this high, there's bound to be correction. People who wanted to jump on the train during the run will now have the opportunity to purchase at a lower price than when it was around 5800. This will push the price further up to around 6000 I'm home.
855  Economy / Economics / Re: DON'T DO PANIC SELLING !!! on: October 15, 2017, 06:29:04 PM
Panic is a state of mind when you can't control your emotions and you start to do everything based on the instinct. Yes, he fluctuation of bitcoin it is something normal, considering the volatility of it and the advise not to sell because you may not be able to do the same amount of bitcoin when the price will start to rise again. So be smart, don't panic.
HOLD HOLD HOLD is the most important word used in trading alts. The more patience you have, the more profit you will make. Even panic selling is most harmfull as it can give you a huge loss if you are trading in huge amounts. In trading bitcoins, just keep buying and storing or investing for your bright future.

Even with alts? I think bitcoin makes more sense to hold. But for most altcoins, they're so low priced that you can lose a lot of money (if not all) if you don't end up selling. I guess if you're talking about bigger altcoins, then it makes sense to hold, but if you're looking at ICOs and such, I think it's too much of a risky move to hold hold hold.
856  Economy / Speculation / Re: Investor Predicts Bitcoin Price to Hit $27k in Four Months on: October 15, 2017, 06:27:49 PM
I've known Trace Mayer for years, he has been recommending Bitcoin publicly since it was very cheap, he is one of the original whales and really, really, really rich. He is pretty solid in his reasoning too, even tho sometimes I've seen him pumping some shitcoins most likely for a laugh, he is a solid bitcoiner.

His prediction is possible, consider that Ledger X could make the price explode, and in 4 months the 2x drama should have been solved too.

Trace Mayer is indeed a pretty interesting character. His tweets are pretty well thought out and give me a good laugh most of the time.

I think his approximation here is a little too steep. Yes, Bitcoin has the chance to blast off, but I don't think it'll reach 27k in a matter of a couple of months. Even that is too fast for Bitcoin growth. Perhaps this value may come in the next few years instead.
857  Economy / Economics / Re: Does this mean Cash will be extinct? on: October 15, 2017, 05:38:27 AM
Total removal of fiat from the society will do more harm than good.
No matter the level of technological development, not everyone will be able to embrace cashless transactions. And also, most services need to be paid in cash.

We don't really know what new technology may come out in the future though. It's possible that somehow in the near future, everyone will have instant access to a bank account or some form of savings account that they can use instantly with some piece of technology. For now, however, I agree with you that the removal of fiat would not fare well with society.
858  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crazy Bitcoin UP TO 5000$ Please some one stop it on: October 15, 2017, 05:36:45 AM
when i check bitcoin price it is more than 5000$
 Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

if price keep up more will keep hold and price up and up

who agree with me ?

Not saying you're wrong that we will most likely see a crash before the fork, but I think you're over estimating the fact that this rise is due to Bitcoin Gold.  Most of this new money coming in doesn't even know about this fork. It's going to tumble because we are moving straight up, and whatever shoots up will eventually correct.

I actually think a good amount of people do know about Bitcoin Gold. I think this is the case because of how Bitcoin Cash went in the past and also because of the widespread adaptation of the coin. The more people that use it, the more people there are trying to understand how BTC works and spread that info.
859  Economy / Speculation / Re: Industry Experts Believe Bitcoin Headed to $6,000 on: October 15, 2017, 05:35:21 AM
https://cointelegraph.com/news/industry-experts-believe-bitcoin-headed-to-6000

Nothing seems to stop Bitcoin.  Not China.  Not Jamie Dimon.  Nothing.

No offense to those so called experts but even a elementary school kid can see that bitcoin is headed towards that direction, bitcoin is above 5800, it only needs one little push from the bulls and we are going to reach that amount, and second there does not seem to be a mention of bitcoin gold in the article which in my opinion is the most likely reason for the spike in the price.

Agreed. That's really funny, the way that sentence about the experts was phrased. It's like seeing a car going at 99 miles an hour and saying it'll hit 100 mph. Sure, it's extrapolation and the slightest, but it is definitely not hard to come to that conclusion. It's more likely for Bitcoin to go up 200-300$ than fall by a 1000.
860  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Bitcoin for bitcointalk account on: October 15, 2017, 05:29:58 AM
I've been registered since 2010, but unfortunately never logged in or posted. I've got a business I'm starting and looking to purchase a good forum account that reflects my long standing in the community.

Will pay good Bitcoin for good account!  Cool

You can generally find these being sold in the auction section or sometimes the invites/accounts section in the digital goods area. You will definitely need to fork out a lot of cash though; these accounts have a really good ROI just off of signature campaigns. Be sure to check prices to make sure you aren't getting scammed either.
