Welsh I sent you a PM. Not trying to get any anonymous loans.
842  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] Dollarsnags.com domain (and site?) on: May 12, 2013, 04:36:51 AM
I set up a site a while back but due to work and other issues haven't really had the time to maintain it. It's definitely got some potential, though.

Dollarsnags.com is simply a blog with eBay finds that are $1 or less with free shipping. All kinds of gadgets, especially cords, chargers, bluetooth stuff, useful stuff. The intent was to post new items every day to keep it interesting, and create a simple mobile app that will browse the site.

If there's any interest in the site or domain I'd sell it for the right price. If a buyer needs the site moved to another host, I'd be happy to do it or at least provide the files for them.

If anyone is interested, please make me an offer, send me a PM or email me at fedaykinofdune@gmail.com.

Thanks,
Edric
843  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] CryptoCoin Alerts - App that speaks your cryptocoin values out loud on: May 10, 2013, 11:51:15 PM
Welp, I was under the impression that people would, uh, actually use this...

If there's any interest at all, I'm gonna add bter.com coin values to the program as well. Setting of custom filters could be in the works soon, as well as additional platforms, but first there needs to be interest! I thought the idea would be catchy for those arbitrageurs who don't wanna be glued to the screen every second, but have some freedom to move around the house and still know what's going on!

So what's up, guys?
844  Economy / Service Announcements / [ANN] CryptoCoin Alerts Beta on: May 07, 2013, 10:47:23 PM
I started a thread in the Project Development forum, but I thought I'd post here too. I've been developing an app that will alert you to the present value of the cryptocoins you specify. Instead of having to watch the screen, my app will speak the alerts out loud, at an interval you select. This will allow you to watch movies, play games, or do whatever you need to do without being glued to the screen waiting for your coin to jump or drop in value!

I know I'm not very well known here, yet, but I'm trying to make a (good) name for myself. For those of you who know how to use LiveCode, the source is included in the download. No dirty apps!

Please visit the following link for further information.

Thanks for looking.

845  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] CryptoCoin Alerts on: May 07, 2013, 10:28:05 PM
OP has been updated, more function added to the app. Right now it's Windows only, Android, Mac, and Linux versions may be upcoming, depending on how useful people find it! Suggestions and criticism are welcome, as well as any generous donations! Source code is included in the app, for those of you that use LiveCode. If there's any LiveCoders here, please take the time to generate the app from my included source to verify that my app is clean and doesn't contain anything that'll blow up your pc! Thanks!

Thanks for reading!

Great idea. It's becoming hard to track all these alt coins.. There's so many popping up. I'm sure many people will find use for this idea.

Update coming tonight and will have many more features implemented. You'll be able to monitor all your coins while you play games, watch movies, etc. Hope you guys like it, I know it's saving me a ton of screen-watching!
847  Bitcoin / Project Development / [ANN] CryptoCoin Alerts - App that speaks your cryptocoin values out loud on: May 07, 2013, 06:58:26 AM
CryptoCoin Alerts is an app I'm developing that will allow you to receive timed alerts, giving you current prices on your choice of cryptocoins. Right now, the app is in the very early stage of development, but I'm releasing a sneak preview to you guys right now. What sets my app apart from other exchange monitoring apps is that it will speak your alerts out loud, giving you the freedom to do what you want to do, watching a movie or playing games, while not missing out on that price jump you've been waiting on!

Right now functionality is limited to a simple timed alert, and only gives you BTC > USD and LTC > USD.
Reports all cryptocurrencies now. You select from the dropdown menu the alert interval (in minutes) and press the Run button. The checkboxes have no function at the moment but that is changing within the next day or two!

Planned features:
Choose from many cryptocurrencies (BTC, LTC, FTC, CHN, NMC, PPC, TRC, NVC, and more)
BTC conversion currencies USD, RUR, EUR
Ability to filter alerts, such as when your watched currency reaches a specified high or low value
More exchanges besides BTC-E

Once the initial phase of development and testing is complete I may decide to expand upon the app to include such features as a trading API for select exchanges. Feature suggestions and any donations are very welcome, as well!

Please give it a try and let me know what you think! An update with much more functionality is coming within a day or two. Source code is included in the download, for you tinfoil hat guys! I'm trying to make a (good) name for myself here, so no dirty apps from me.

Edit 5/7/13, 5:23PM: App and download link has been updated, CryptoCoin conversion rates are now available. Changed the way the "stop" button works, so it should stop jabbering once you hit stop instead of continuing a couple of times. Please give it a try and let me know what you think. I'm considering shortening the notification speeches, they seem a little long. If anyone has some feedback on what would be more suitable, I'm all ears!

849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 02, 2013, 03:21:41 AM
I'm playing around with solo mining, throwing hashes from my VPS and from my PC. I went into the console and put getdifficulty, and it gave me 1.000000 or something.. Is that right? How do I know my hashes are actually doing something?
850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 02, 2013, 02:34:06 AM
While it was busy downloading the blockchain, I was setting up all my stuff. I had guiminer running a stratum proxy, and it said it was connected and working, and I was throwing hashes at it through stratum port from my VPS elsewhere, but I had to change up a bunch of network settings because my DHCP lease ran out at the worst time, now it won't connect to localhost port 8108 for stratum! What's the deal? I've got Windows firewall turned off, ports are open, I just DMZ'd myself.
851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I would like to know who through https://cryptonit.net/ site Google authenticati on: May 01, 2013, 11:50:05 PM
Not quite sure what you meant by that, but I think the site is having problems at the moment. I'm getting a blank page on Firefox, and when I tried IE, got a dark error 503 page (service unavailable). They still have lots of bugs to work out, the Google auth thing kinda bugs me as well but as long as my coins are safe, oh well!

853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: One btc lost in the netherworld ? on: June 14, 2011, 04:12:48 AM
Thanks much, that makes me feel better. I did indeed find it in there. It's weird though, because a transaction that I did right after the one that won't confirm went through as normal.
854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: One btc lost in the netherworld ? on: June 14, 2011, 02:09:57 AM
Something similar has happened to me, except it's showing up but still showing 0/unconfirmed, which is weird because a transaction after that to the same receiving address is working just fine. Coincidentally, I was messing with Namecoin earlier I think while I processed the transaction which isn't confirming, so I don't know if I'm to blame.
855  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~2300 Gh/s Mining Pool] HTTPS,API, instant payouts,LP,+1% for NO INVALID BLOCKS on: June 08, 2011, 10:20:59 PM
Yeah Tycho i know. But apparently mtgox doesnt accept less than 1 btc, but isnt there any way to get The 0.91 to my mtgox account.

I do it all the time, when you go to add funds, tell it you're going to add 1 BTC, but then only send in your .91 to the address it gives, it works.
856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PLEASE READ, RELIEF FUND FOR JOPLIN, MO TORNADO VICTIMS on: May 25, 2011, 06:25:04 AM
Here's a suggestion for you.  Contact the EFF, and see if they will set up a Bitcoin address for Red Cross donations.  They seem to want to support the Bitcoin concept, so maybe they would do it.

Seems like that's worth a shot. Meanwhile, donations can be directed to the address I provided.

People were much more eager to donate back when the Japan earthquake happened, perhaps because the BTC wasn't quite as valuable as it is now, and there wasn't as much paranoia going around :b
857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PLEASE READ, RELIEF FUND FOR JOPLIN, MO TORNADO VICTIMS on: May 25, 2011, 04:35:46 AM
And we are just supposed to trust that you will donate?

Well, this is the second such fund raiser I've set up, the last time I was still new so I didn't handle the funds, but yes, I was going to attempt to handle this one personally. The Japan earthquake didn't hit close to home but I still felt the need to call upon the community to do something if they desired, but this disaster does hit close to home since I have family and friends there. I don't make much BTC myself but I'm mustering every cent I can manage.
858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / PLEASE READ, RELIEF FUND FOR JOPLIN, MO TORNADO VICTIMS on: May 25, 2011, 04:20:51 AM
Hey guys, once again I call upon the Bitcoin community to stand up and lend a helping hand to our fellow man. A few months ago when the tsunami hit Japan I helped organize a fund raiser to help them out overseas, and you guys came through in fine style.

As many of you know, on Sunday a very strong storm system swept through Kansas, Missouri, and Louisiana, causing tons of damage, flooding, and leaving many people without power. Joplin, Missouri got the worst of it, with an F5 tornado flattening about 6 miles of land and leaving 124 people dead. Many people are without power and basic needs, and temporary shelter is overwhelmed. It has been declared a disaster area and federal aid has been dispersed to the area.

Many of the families in the area are in need of clothing and shelter, that's why I'm calling on you to help out and donate whatever you can spare, and the funds will be dispersed to an NPO in Joplin. I've already made a couple of phone calls, since I know some people in the area, and it seems like Goodwill is really trying hard to provide clothes to the people whose homes were destroyed, so I was thinking of making the donation to Goodwill. I'd like to hear your thoughts as to any other organizations which may be a better choice to make donations to.

I've set up an address to take donations at, and the funds will be dispersed once an agreement has been made on which organization would best make use of it to benefit the people who've been affected by the storm.

Thanks and God bless,

Edric

Funds will be handled with 100% responsibility.

859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JAPAN TSUNAMI RELIEF, PLEASE READ on: March 15, 2011, 05:39:05 AM

I trust the bitcoin community, I can deposit the money first, provide the bank transfer slip before accepting the bitcoin.

And we can work out an exchange rate were the community is comfortable with.

Apart from Japanese Red Cross, there are some other funds such as Yahoo Japan 緊急災害募金 Emergency Disaster funds.
http://bokin.yahoo.co.jp/donation/detail/1630001/index.html

But their are also donating to the Japanese Red Cross. So a direct deposit to the Japanese Red Cross seems to be the most reliable and convenient and "to the point".

Donation to the Japanese Red Cross can be as quickly as a consensus is reached here.

This is a very good proposal. I am all for it.
Let's continue to call for donations until Wednesday and then proceed.

I'm going to go with this as well. Sounds like the best idea so far.
860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JAPAN TSUNAMI RELIEF, PLEASE READ on: March 13, 2011, 09:49:05 AM
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had come up with any ideas as to organizations that we could directly send some funds to for the best effect. I've really been thinking on the point of trying to give direct monetary aid to an organization within a community such as a shelter or food bank, though I'm unsure how effective money would actually be when what the people need most are food, shelter and clothing. Any ideas off the top of anyone's heads would be excellent. I'm going to be pretty busy for the next 3 days or so, but I will be checking in. S3052, I really appreciate you stepping up to be the caretaker of the funds. I apologize, but I'm just lousy at this sort of thing, and have terrible organizational skills. I'd like to see more of people's thoughts as to what we can do with the collected funds to try to make some sort of difference in the lives of the people over there. In the meantime, I did PM a moderator to see if we can get this thread tacked up, and I'm not sure how it works, but maybe once we get some more ideas going on, maybe some sort of a poll?

As for some of the debating in some previous posts, I did read them, and the points were well taken. Plenty of stuff going on in the world, I guess sometimes you have to pick your battles. Speaking only for myself, the only agenda I have right now is just to help out. I don't care if Bitcoin shoots to the top of CNN news for us trying to help out or not, I would personally rather it didn't.

Anyways, it's late, I have work in a few hours. Gonna crank my miners back up to max and crash. You guys are the best. Thanks for your donations.
