841  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoins held by the US government on: May 12, 2023, 04:11:37 AM
__
They picked the wrong time Smiley

I Don't think so! Seized assets are usually sold in batches and it depends on the litigation attached to it. If the court has given a verdict then the government will try to sell the assets to recover the money. They are not HODLers so they won't pick a time based on the market movements.

Yes, it will bring an impact on us for sure who have been accumulating bitcoin to find a suitable time to sell. We may need to delay it further because the price is expected to drive downward due to this huge sell of. But that's it!
842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: sending bank statement for verification on: May 11, 2023, 05:55:10 PM
i registered at an online casino and my deposit was not arrived(in casiono) and i contact to their support and they said you need to wait for 10 business days for your refund.

10days are completed and i still didn't received my refund, and they told that "if you don't receive your refund in 10 days then you can contact us with your bank statement"

my question is, is it safe to share bank account statement for verification purposes?  the site is reputable, but in bank statement all my information are available. is it safe to share?

Usually a business will ask for a bank statement if they need to verify your identity and the transaction you have made. It's not a big deal. But please ensure that the casino is a legal one. Since it is not a crypto casino, they must be registered and a legal entity. If not, I think it's better to contact your bank. But since 10 days have passed, the chance of getting a refund is pretty slim.

Usually businesses ask to wait for 3 days because that's the usual time for settlement. Don't know but is 10 days a normal time in your country to get bank settlement?
843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ordinals/BRC-20 Tokens on: May 11, 2023, 05:18:05 PM
Let's share and discuss perspectives of the Ordinals Protocol and BRC-20 Tokens.

It's utter nonsense! Did we have less trouble with millions of worthless jpgs, that such madness was brought to bitcoin network? Honestly, we didn't need BRC-20 token functionality here. We were good with ETH and polygon for these dying NFT markets.

Now the bitcoin network will remain clogged forever unless these things are taken down completely. Someone is saying innovative, what Innovation you are seeing here other than stupidity?
844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much does Bitcoin affect other cryptocurrency? on: May 11, 2023, 01:18:04 PM
Please understand that Bitcoin is the pioneer crypto available in the market. Whatever other cryptos you are seeing today, created after bitcoin found its way to success. So it's not a matter of debate whether the altcoins follow bitcoin or not.

Personally I would say the entire altcoin market is heavily dependent of bitcoin. And very closely mimics its trajectory. But there are some obvious exceptions.  Earlier the impact was 100% but now it has reduced to some extent after the introduction of the stablecoins.
845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Liechtenstein is considering to accept bitcoin for government payments on: May 11, 2023, 10:09:11 AM
Well, a lot of governments have planned to adopt bitcoin is some form or shape earlier as well. But not many of them have gone ahead and materialize the plan. So even if it's a good news that Liechtenstein lawmakers are planning for such things, it's of no use unless it's actually materializes.

Also amidst the current BRC-20 madness, Bitcoin users have stopped transactions. Not sure if it's a great time to start thinking of these lines. If it happens, it's good!
846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Ordinals on the edge of getting canceled on: May 10, 2023, 05:44:52 PM
This BRC-20 madness needs to stop asap. This is making bitcoin almost unusable and thousands of transactions are affected. The current fees is way too high to handle and it makes no sense to make bitcoin transactions now. I honestly wanted to buy an e-commerce gift card through Bitrefil because I have some upcoming shopping list. I had to pay through ETH just because the bitcoin fees was too high.

I will be more than happy to vote if this will stop such nonsense with immediate effect.
847  Local / India / Re: [THE REVIVAL RAFFLE] #10 - Pick a lucky number and win 0.001 bitcoin on: May 10, 2023, 04:53:29 AM
Wow! Many thanks to Heisenberg_hunter for this good news! It's feels really great to win.

I am not worried about the delay. Please take your time. I fully understand the current situation of the bitcoin network and the crazy high fees. Many thanks everyone!
848  Economy / Economics / Re: What to do with all guy who loss money to stock market on: May 10, 2023, 04:42:04 AM
Stock market never promises a happy retirement and the other things you have mentioned in your thread. Rather stock market always says - "Investments are subject to market risk". What else can stock market do to be more fair?

Stock market is a long term game. I invest quite heavily into it and forgot the investments for next 10 years. Very moderately, I am sitting at around 20% net profit excluding the dividends which are another tax free source of income which I get every quarter. You just need to play it right to win the game!
849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's problems are visible as never before on: May 09, 2023, 05:13:26 PM

Has the era of bitcoin passed as the number 1 cryptocurrency?
Or is it a move to strangle his price?

Nope! That day will never come! Bitcoin will remain as the number one cryptocurrency even if some people prefer otherwise. This fees issue is happening due to the introduction of the BRC20 shit which is keeping the network busy. Bitcoin blockchain is simply not capable enough to handle such volume of transactions. That's why bitcoin is more lucrative as an investment and not as a method of transferring value.

It is indeed a drawback of bitcoin network but it wasn't built for BRC-20 madness. Hopefully it will stablize within a short period of time.
850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet should be used to keep bitcoin safe? on: May 09, 2023, 03:09:39 PM
I am a newbie in bitcoin form. I invested in Bitcoin a few days ago. I don't understand one thing. I will invest in Bitcoin for the long term. I use a mobile device. Now what wallet do I use to keep my bitcoins safe. I have total three wallets installed on my mobile device.

Trust wallet, mycelium and electrum which of these three wallets is the most secure?
Which wallet would be better than these three wallets?
I bought Bitcoin from kucoin, so far it's in kucoin

Please follow some basic rules to keep your bitcoin safe.

1. Never keep your bitcoin in a mobile wallet. Mobile is easier to hack.
2. Use a desktop wallet. Electrum is a good option. Ensure you have a licensed internet security installed in your PC or laptop
3. Don't use useless/porn website from the PC or laptop where you are keeping your bitcoin. Porn websites are the greatest source of malware
4. Have a separate wallet address for receiving payment which you can disclose to public. Separate out your main wallet.

This does not guarantee that your bitcoin will remain safe and the chance is higher for sure.
851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Calls for Bitcoin Adoption Amidst Transaction Challenges on: May 09, 2023, 12:04:46 PM
Transaction issues are temporary, it will go away in some time. But considering how US is taking actions against crypto companies since last couple of months, I don't honestly see a green light at the end of the tunnel.

I understand that US has a federal structure, but do the states have power to ignore a government controlled currency system? I am not sure but it seems states do not have an option here. It's good to see that call for adopting Bitcoin but avoiding CBDC, doesn't looks like an option for the state government and also for the citizens.
852  Economy / Economics / Re: It's premature to declare any winners in the EV competition ---- Warren Buffett on: May 08, 2023, 03:09:23 PM
EV is just couple of years old technology so if we conclude the winner right now, that won't be justified for sure. Because the battery cell technology is still at a very basic stage and multiple research and development activities are ongoing to find a better and more effective battery technology. No one knows what will be coming out in the future and how it will benefit the current car makers.

A lot to happen in the EV market still. So what Warren Buffet is saying, makes sense! Unlike his other statements on cryptos.
853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When using Bitcoin to make purchases, do you feel bad? on: May 08, 2023, 10:54:29 AM
Good day to everybody! Recently, when I was considering BTC transactions, I came to the conclusion that the system is heading toward accepting bitcoin as payment. It's fantastic too!

However, my issue is that whenever I consider purchasing using Bitcoin, I feel uneasy. I'll never forget the man who bought pizza for more than 30 bitcoins; those bitcoins are really valuable. I, for one, don't want to be this man who pays with an asset whose value WILL increase. From a future viewpoint, it appears as though you are paying more for the goods. What do you think about that? For me, if I have some stablecoins, I try to use them to make purchases since it seems more comfortable. While things are still horrible on the market, I don't want to touch my BTC.

You hit the right spot. Even though I had purchased multiple gift cards from Amazon and other eCommerce websites from a third party vendor but I really feel the pinch. We all know that bitcoin has the potential to go to a much higher price point. Just like the pizza guy could have been a billionaire today but he missed the chance.

I really feel that while purchasing something with bitcoin. But when bitcoin takes care of my finances during the tough time, I feel grateful.
854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paxful back up and running on: May 07, 2023, 03:50:54 PM
That's quite strange! Because the owner announced their shut down and moved their users to a clone website. And now they are back. It seems wired.

I have just checked the status page and it seems some maintenance is ongoing and their trade function is out of service.

https://status.paxful.com/

I haven't logged in yet. I will wait for an official confirmation from the owner before resuming trading.
855  Local / India / Re: Bhutan has been quietly mining Bitcoin for many years now on: May 05, 2023, 07:13:59 PM
Grin A kingdom that is dependent on India for everything has been silently mining Bitcoin. Amazingly they are using green energy I am eagerly wanting to know who convinced the King of Bhutan for mining Bitcoin. We all know how mainstream media globally has branded Bitcoin mining as a hazard for the environment. I assume the King only got convinced when he was told about mining using hydroelectricity as the kingdom has strict policy on environment.

Don't be so sure! Bhutan is now under the influence of China. Also, it is a democracy now (even though on paper). It seems shocking to me as well because Bhutan is usually a very peace-loving country who don't want to get into many difficult things. So for them getting into crypto mining is shocking to the rest of the world.

Also, it seems that their parliament has approved a whopping amount of money to explore more options about crypto mining and set up the firm. I mean, it's good for them. because Bhutan has been so very much dependent on India for many things. Now if they are able to find their own way of making money, they will get the direct benefits. My only fear that they should not suddenly become an enemy of India by China's influence.
856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the world still see Bitcoin as a scam, or is it just a lack of interest? on: May 05, 2023, 05:35:41 PM
The general perception of Bitcoin is still negative. I mean things are changing slowly and surely but we haven't yet reached a position where Bitcoin can bring in trust from the common mass. Honestly in many countries banks are actively running campaigns against Bitcoin. I often received Mailers from my bank regarding Bitcoin which is generally negative in nature.

Also the old age people are not much interested in knowing about technical innovation. The reason is very simple. This age group is not really comfortable in using computers. So Bitcoin is definitely very complicated for them. But things are changing, that's the only silver lining here.
857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FED raises fund rate and Signal possible paused on: May 05, 2023, 04:33:42 AM
I am leaving the speculation part aside because no one knows what's gonna happen. But inflation is a real issue here. FED is doing what they can do by rising interest rate. The basic math behind interest rate increases is to suck out extra money from economy so that people don't spend much to bring the demand down.

Now this is supposed to impact bitcoin in a positive way. Because with inflation, the purchasing power of the currency goes down. We still have time to follow Robert Kiyosaki. Invest in crypto and in God's money to safeguard your self from upcoming recession.
858  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: FBI disrupts 9 crypto exchanges used to facilitate criminal activities on: May 04, 2023, 06:43:11 PM

It's good that this kind of websites are being taken down, but we all know that this is just the beginning. Maybe next week this operators are going to open up a new website to cater for their customers. So it's going to be a ongoing battle between the bad actors against government agencies. Just interesting though that since the war is still ongoing on Ukraine, this criminals business are still thriving.

I am not sure what good you have found in closing down these websites. Obviously if they have actively helped scammers and money launderers, then it should be closed. Because we don't want such nuisance into crypto market for sure. But what their crime?

US government is going on a war against cryptocurrency related businesses it seems. This will force any future businesses to start their operation from a very different country where the law is favorable. US will loose out on it big time.
859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop comparing BTC to FIAT. FIAT is dying every single day. on: May 04, 2023, 05:53:39 PM
OP seems like one of those bitcoin puritans who thinks nothing can beat bitcoin. No offense but such kind of thinking doesn't help in any way. Inflation is an integral part of economy so inflation will be there even after 100 years if the civilization doesn't get destroyed by nuke war. Adopting bitcoin can't save us from inflation. Rather it may bring in disaster during a bear cycle.

It's not easy to overthrow a century old system which is very deeply rooted in human society. You want it or not, fiat will be here even when we won't be here. So adopt bitcoin but don't try to change the existing fiat currency system from its root. Bitcoin can't thrive without fiat. That is a very simple truth.
860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Biden budget proposes 30% tax on crypto mining electricity usage on: May 04, 2023, 12:57:29 PM
So the US attack on cryptocurrency continues! This clearly show the mentality of the government towards cryptos. In my country, government has imposed 30% tax without the chance of loss offset. So it's very clear that they want to discourage the citizens from crypto matters. US is also moving that way.

Thankfully it's still a proposal but won't take time to become a law because of FED's lobby. Well done US. Many other small countries will surely benefit from such law. Bhutan has planned for a 500 million USD fund to initiate crypto mining in their country. Just FYI.
