I tend to spend more time here because the forum mods haven't banned me yet lol Cheesy it happens, you can spend hours on the internet depending on what you search for, especially if it's something complicated.
8482  Other / Off-topic / Re: Perpetual motion device - Free Energy - Do you believe in it? on: January 13, 2013, 01:59:46 AM
Throughout the history people have tried to build perpetual motion machines. Mechanical things are easy to imagine and build, but magnets and electricity are like magic to the do-it-yourself man... Some have build up a professional career ripping off these blue-eyed people. See Konstantin Meyl. He does a speech and "demonstration" now and then and sells these ridiculously small Tesla coils for THOUSANDS OF EUROS. lol

Too bad Meyl ruins Nikola Tesla's reputation by marketing his own nonsense in the name of Tesla.. I hate Meyl for doing that.

..... Ruining Nikola Tesla's reputation? You know he wanted to build a death ray right? LOL!
8483  Other / Off-topic / Re: Perpetual motion device - Free Energy - Do you believe in it? on: January 12, 2013, 08:45:43 PM
From my own research there doesn't really seem to be such a thing as free/infinite energy, we can make it very cheap or you can have lots and lots of it like if you power something from the sun or with water, the problem with all this stuff like perpetual motion is that it does work on a small scale but you have to look at it from an industrial point of view because people want thousands of kilowatts to power cities. Oil and Nuclear are more popular options because of how much easier it is to get that kind of thing going, that said I can understand oil because all you do is dig that out of the ground and burn it after you prepare it but with Nuclear? It's the equivalent of having a nuclear bomb sitting next to your house and I just think that's insane.

All these ideas are for the most part already there, but particularly with sun and wind they're horribly inefficient because when you want to have something powered constantly you can't really have things like weather dictating how much power you're capable of generating if you want to do stuff long term with it. A lot of these people posting the 'free energy' crap on youtube I think are people who are just learning about science and have no idea what they're talking about, either that or they are probably trying to scam you like you think.

I'm just an observer and laughing at you crazy people Cheesy
8485  Other / Off-topic / Re: Need to help a friend. I have a weird plan... please Read On. on: January 12, 2013, 03:22:22 PM
Don't put phone numbers out in public! Let people request it through PM if they're wary of this but don't bloody post it online.

Sounds like a cult waiting to happen to me.
8487  Other / Off-topic / Re: Play EVE Online if you want to prepare for a Bitcoin marketplace on: January 12, 2013, 12:14:26 PM
I just thought I'd put it out there, like I said, getting sick of seeing daft people whining on this forum about losing their money because they were giving money to people that were obvious scammers, I'll bet a lot of these EVE Online scams look very familiar.
8488  Other / Off-topic / Play EVE Online if you want to prepare for a Bitcoin marketplace on: January 12, 2013, 12:00:43 AM
Now I want to point out normally I wouldn't recommend a game like EVE Online because the gameplay itself is absolute bollocks and the reasons on why it is would be enough for me to write an entire thesis on it and the games industry in general so just take my word for it. What is amazing about the game though is the marketplace it has, it is for the most part, completely unregulated and would give you a very good idea of what the Bitcoin market would actually look like in the next few years or so.

I'm sure some people here have already played it because I've seen EVE Online avatars etc. around but I'd just thought I'd tell people because I'm tired of reading about some very frankly stupid people who actually give money to shifty people that I wouldn't even consider taking money from because I wouldn't know where they got it. You don't even need to play EVE for that long either about ten minutes and I found myself understanding every possible scam and ponzi scheme out there with a little bit of research not only that the money you lose isn't real so while so the only think you'll have lost is a bit of in game currency though some people have commented on articles that the losses all felt quite real because of the amount of time they put into it.

So, these are two very sound pieces of advice I can give you:

. Never play a game that is only about how much time you put in it like every MMORPG in existence

. Don't give away money to companies and people you aren't sure about! Do your research!

2023 isn't ambitious enough I feel Tongue and I want to go and mine asteroids.
8490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Deciding whether to use my coins or hoard them... on: January 11, 2013, 10:12:52 AM
Hoarding in an online wallet is the most hilariously stupid idea I have heard yet out of this community.  And that's saying a lot.

What's the problem? As long as it's stored offline it should be pretty safe, or are you one of those crazies who think you should just spend everything you've carefully saved up and not think about the future at all?
8491  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Guy THREATENS to KILL PEOPLE if stricter gun laws are passed! VIDEO! on: January 11, 2013, 08:46:30 AM
While I'm against racist morons and will gladly stop them should they ever try to kill innocent people I want to know what it was this guy actually said, because the thing is there are people out there particularly in the mainstream media who seriously overreact to things gun owners do, for instance I think it was at the tea party protests there was this guy who was simply standing there calmly with an assault rifle with a sign going on about a Jefferson quote involving blood ( forgotten which one it was exactly lol may have been the tree of liberty one Tongue ) and all the guy was doing was standing there while the media went ballistic claiming he was a psycho.

If it is a serious one, I must ask any right wing nut cases, please don't drag innocent bystanders into your fights you lazy cowards and go pick a fight with a real enemy.
8492  Other / Politics & Society / Re: My wife is a hero: mom shoots intruder 5 times, saves kids on: January 10, 2013, 03:12:58 PM
lolz I get what you're on about, shooting is easier most of the time but honestly, there are so many factors to think about when it comes to this kind of thing it's like with arguing about the newtown shooting etc. it's just a never ending cycle of hypotheticals, I can just as easily come up with a counter argument to what you're saying as with mine.
8493  Other / Politics & Society / Re: My wife is a hero: mom shoots intruder 5 times, saves kids on: January 10, 2013, 02:56:48 PM
That's true, but my point is that that kind of thing isn't dependent on a persons gender or physical fitness etc. Tongue

Human weapon is a crappy example for martial arts, but what if the old lady knows ninjitsu knife fighting? Tongue

Cheesy and I know the point, but it's daft, speaking as someone who's been doing martial arts for around 8 years there is no way to tell just from physical appearance whether a person is capable of winning a fight or not.

Edit: I finally found an awesome example, there's this guy who my teachers learned a lot from called Sensei Kase, he's dead now but on first glance you would never think he could do any martial arts at all

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXZZ4NOY9aI - sorry about the crappy music, but this was one of the only decent videos of him demonstrating I could find, he completely knocks about a guy far fitter than he is when he's being attacked.

Instead of trying to troll would you mind explaining why I'm only getting khash/s when I should be getting Mhash/s?

if I ever do mining it's for the hell of it not for profit, so please don't rant to me about my GPU not being powerful enough etc.

I refer you to my previous post, don't people on internet forums ever actually read? I'm solo mining for the hell of it, it seems unlike a lot of people mining I'm learning to do other things so I'd appreciate help on fixing the problem of only having khash/s coming out of my GPU rather than silly rants from people who can't read one bloody line I made specifically for you. >_>
8498  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Having problems still with solo mining in GUIMiner on: January 10, 2013, 10:35:01 AM
Okay, I've just run into another problem now, I've left the client on overnight and so far I have generated no bitcoins at all and GUIMiner is reading I'm generating around 300khash/s even though I have a 6970 Sad
8499  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this purchase worth it? on: January 10, 2013, 08:41:56 AM
Honestly, if you want to do mining, go and get a pickaxe and head off to Africa or Brazil for a holiday lol Tongue you'll get a better return than frying your graphics cards Bitcoin mining all you need for that is good eyes and a basic knowledge of rocks and how minerals form.

I'm sure you also know that women, who tend to be physically weaker, not only benefit more from the addition of a firearm, but also benefit more often, being the target of violence more often than men.

I know you've said that women 'tend' to be physically weaker but I'm someone who attends a martial arts club where there's a twelve year old girl who could easily kick your arse LOL I think it's just a general perception that's been drilled into our heads really, the problem is everyone is different so there's no real way to say whether this is true or not, the only thing that is 100% certain is that female muscles are of a different shape than men.
