It seems standard to me that immunity to prosecution rises the more important you are.  Various kinds of immunity are extended to important people in government, the president can pardon people, and diplomats and their families can murder people and not be prosecuted in the US.

I know it's lame, but this seriously reminds me of The Guild 2 Cheesy in that game you get to do the exact same thing if you get elected to office rather than thrown in jail.

Talk to me again in a years time after America has devalued the dollar some more Tongue yes it's an exaggeration what I proposed, it might be more like 0.1 BTC realistically but that's the ridiculous amount that the federal reserve is printing.

With the invention of printed money it hopefully will Luno, the Romans had to make do with gold and silver which can't be mass produced into coins easily so the rulers of Rome couldn't piss it away in such a short time.
8529  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bill Introduced By Marxists To End Term Limits For The Presidency Of The USA on: January 07, 2013, 04:25:48 PM
I'm more reminded of the SPQR and how they devolved entirely and Rome ended up being ruled by a man named Julius Caesar, you guys had a general in your army named Petraeus! LOL! How can I not think of Rome after that? The Roman empire also believed in spreading their ideology through invasion, violence and threats as well except they thought that they were spreading civilization rather than democracy.
8530  Economy / Economics / Re: Why I think Bitcoin will not become an national currency on: January 07, 2013, 02:52:17 PM
You forget as well that Bitcoin can be divided up into a lot of decimals, people are still figuring out what Bitcoins are worth etc. so in the future we might see 0.0001 bitcoins worth as much as 1 bitcoin now and someone getting 1 bitcoin will have the equivalent of billionaire status, it's all going to depend on what the markets do in the next couple of years and I suspect a depression will happen for those in conventional currencies. I do agree that it probably won't ever be a national currency, but I'd say that's in our favour since you don't want a decentralised currency to become centralised but I do think there will be a few countries who will be more friendly to the idea of Bitcoin and maybe trade it openly or at least acknowledge it, because lets face it, they'd be fools to stick entirely with the U.S reserve currency with the way things are now.
8531  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Legality of prostitution and being homeless on: January 07, 2013, 02:32:05 PM
I know it may seem harsh, but I've actually been on the receiving end of this myself, not from actual homeless people though, they seem to have been driven out by what we in the UK called charity muggers, they're pretty much infesting the UK Supermarkets and Shopping centres and they run around with either buckets or clipboards not really asking but practically demanding your money because while they act polite etc. they'll aggressively pursue you until they drive you away or get you to sign up until they find another victim. Of course, the charities will claim that it's an effective tactic and that's true but only in the short term really because eventually people will get sick of it like they are now. There is also lots of evidence that points towards the fact that the people who collect for these charities get most of the money or it goes towards administration costs and very little actually makes it to the ones they claim they're trying to help.

So normally I'd say no, but if they're going out of their way to harass people repeatedly then something is going on, not only that the charities are always for some impossible and generic cause like 'save the children' or 'save the rainforest' or they'll be shipping the money off to a warzone where the money will go to a corrupt government that steals it to use it to commit more atrocities in their civil wars. So if it's only happening occasionally and they leave of their own accord then it isn't a big deal, but if they're staying for a very long while then clearly something is going on.

The great thing about the internet is everyone truly has a voice and it's dirt cheap ( No really O_O I constantly get surprised at the prices I find ) to host your own website, if you guys have a problem with it tell them to shut the fuck up, from what I've seen the admins aren't your typical ones that will ban you for pointing out what a moron someone is. As you know I got pretty pissed when the Newtown shooting happened and the political masturbatory crowd decided to make this forum their battleground but instead of flip out I just decided to mock them in the end, you're honestly far better off reacting this way otherwise you are as bad as they are.

So take the Jon Stewart approach, don't yell or argue with them, don't try to argue against their bullshit hypothetical and imaginary scenarios that have never happened or their flawed statistics, just laugh at them and point out how much they suck.

This kind of thing is why I empathise with the gun owners out there way more than gun control people, it's not like any of them want this sort of thing to happen they're just far more realistic, this is also a complete textbook example of how I think self-defence should be carried out, leave the criminal alive if he gets the message, they'll also serve as a warning to anyone else dumb enough to rob her.
8535  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Legality of prostitution and being homeless on: January 06, 2013, 07:04:35 PM
If porn is legal why shouldn't prostitution be legal?

That's always been funny to me. Pay a woman to have sex: illegal. Pay a woman to have sex on camera: legal. WTF Huh

That's always confused the crap out of me, oh and don't get me started on Japan actually censoring porn... Just... Why?

Rob, that was the post history of one of the posters on the anti-gun side, it's not a 'biblical sized discussion' It's not a discussion at all. You asked for evidence why the anti-gun activists are the stupid ones, that link will provide it and then some, and it's spelled "douchebag" If you're going to insult someone, at least do it right. Kiss

Fixed that for you Smiley

You may be correct, but I don't think it's out of line to ask you if you have any source material for your beliefs. It helps me judge how accurate they're likely to be.

The thing is my sources are what is currently around us just like with evolution, if you look around you and at other countries you'll see the majority of the time people get along with each other reasonably well and even if they don't, most disputes etc. are solved peacefully with debate or through a third party rather than blowing someones head off. I swear you really do only seem to have this kind of problem in America where you have people becoming psychopaths from the amount of abuse people seem to go through over there.

Take the research I did in other threads for example, why is it in Serbia and Switzerland we have millions of guns in civilian ownership yet we don't hear stories from over there about schools getting shot up etc.? Making guns illegal won't do a thing for public safety, I also question the logic of gun regulation when politicians oh so confidently state how well it works yet they insist on walking around with security guards carrying concealed weaponry that civilians wouldn't be allowed to have, leaders couldn't be that sure of their own beliefs if they felt the need to have armed guards around themselves 24/7 to feel safe. You also have them constantly ranting about how all countries need to get nuclear weapons but you barely ever see them attempt it either so I'd like to see how they'd justify that kind of regulation when they won't put it on themselves.

The thing that's become most obvious to me lately is that people who scream for gun regulation want everyone except them or certain groups they support to have guns which screams to me of a power grab situation rather than caring about peoples safety, it's just a shame that a lot of gun advocates can't make these kind of arguments without screaming back and sounding like they're lunatics which is precisely why I mock them both.

p.s. I know a method of self-defense that's far better than any gun Wink

That article could have been making intelligent points if it wasn't using so many bolded sentences.
