Source? When you say "most" do you mean "most people" or "most people I know"?

Sure Captain Specifics, I meant most people, as for the source, it's a bit like with evolution, when you look using your eyes instead of silly propaganda you'll realise that people get along with each other fine most of the time, you can even see it amongst your friends, you do have friends don't you? Smiley

You haven't mentioned any limits on the type of antipersonnel technology a citizen should be allowed to access, the topic of the OP. Do you think there should be any? If so, what?Hand guns ok, automatic weapons not ok? Knives ok, swords not ok?

Nope, I don't think there should be any limits, not when it comes to government law anyway, it should be down to the discretion of the seller whether or not they think it's a good idea to sell to certain people or not.

Why would a seller not want to sell? Especially if he or she doesn't live locally.

It will depend on the community, but you can be pretty sure that sellers etc. in the community would take it pretty personally if they're friends got threatened with guns that they sold, the problem with taking the position of a government loyalist is that these people don't seem to realise that most don't want to fight or have violence happening around them constantly, the idea that violence happens purely because of guns is just daft by itself too, particularly when I can get my hands on all sorts of explosives and chemical weaponry at your average hardware store.

You don't have to have a government in order to live peacefully, in fact, most people do it regardless of the police walking around their neighbourhoods.

Bitcoin - Tax avoidance isn't just for the rich anymore
8545  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gun freedom advocates - what weapons shouldn't be legally available? on: January 05, 2013, 08:47:58 AM
I'm not necessarily a gun advocate ( because I don't believe that guns are the most effective thing out there Wink ) but the idea behind everyone owning a gun is actually very logical because the idea is people wouldn't dare attack each other since they know they have as much strength as them and will be able to wipe them out. It's the same kind of logic with MAD, how do you think we haven't devolved into World War 3 yet? It's precisely because any country worth invading has nuclear weapons of course, Afghanistan being that rare exception of being mostly unassailable because of it's terrain and weather despite having no nuclear weaponry whatsoever or any official government.

I do think however that your average citizen before buying a weapon should be educated and trained properly in their use to prevent accidents.
8546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What online services would you pay for with bitcoin? on: January 05, 2013, 06:51:33 AM
I'd pay for anything with Bitcoin, seriously, who needs conventional money now? The only physical stuff I'd take if I had the option right now would be gold or silver.
8547  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will bitcoins be illegalized in 2013? on: January 05, 2013, 05:56:12 AM
I don't think it will be a simple case of people taking sides here, I think there will be many different reactions to Bitcoin, much like with the collapse of the Euro which will be happening soon, I suspect though because it directly threatens them a lot of the super powers will be predictable and try to make it illegal and stamp it out but smaller countries may take a different view and actually use it to boost their economy, perhaps they'll even increase currency competition within their own country.
8548  Other / Meta / Re: Many bitcointalk emails mislabled as spam on: January 04, 2013, 06:18:00 PM
I'm no programmer at all just to say this is just from experience Cheesy so I couldn't say really but spam prevention tools aren't all that clever, it's a bit like with some anti-virus' where they can get extremely twitchy if something unfamiliar to their database shows up on your PC so I suspect that it will be the anti-spam version of that.
8549  Other / Off-topic / Re: US Urged to Mint 'Trillion Dollar Platinum Coin' on: January 04, 2013, 06:04:56 PM
The last president who actively tried to stop private banks printing money ended up assassinated, good thing this guys idea is so daft that the people who did the assassination won't even bother with him.
8550  Other / Off-topic / Re: Greeks kicking out the euro on: January 04, 2013, 06:02:01 PM
I doubt many of them know about Bitcoin, I suspect that someone looking to take over the country will conveniently come in with an alternative though, for instance, a new printable fiat currency like the Euro but with some kind of marketing gimmick attached to it like Greek independence. It all depends sadly on how knowledgable the Greek people are on economics but sadly western countries have done a fantastic job of manipulating everyone and trying to keep us ignorant for decades.
8551  Other / Meta / Re: Many bitcointalk emails mislabled as spam on: January 04, 2013, 05:21:49 PM
Do you have them listed as safe/added to contacts/not spam? I often find that when it comes to under the radar type stuff not just Bitcoin that it's just the anti-spam kicking in because the software thinks that the emails are coming in from an unusual source and of course, those messages you're showing are automated, so that will most likely be setting it off as well.
8552  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ASIC minier projected value on: January 04, 2013, 07:53:56 AM
Mining really isn't a way to make money, the only thing I see it as is a thing to do for fun or to transfer your own wealth, if you're going to do something with Bitcoin work for it, at least in this economy you have a chance compared to the dead inflationary currencies we're in now, it's actually really refreshing seeing all these new companies, sites and work postings spring up all over the place.
8553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SABTC - SELLER ACCEPTS BITCOINS on: January 04, 2013, 06:46:04 AM
As a few of you will already know I already accept Bitcoins, I just need to get you all products to buy Cheesy
8554  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Anyone looking for work? on: January 04, 2013, 06:41:58 AM
If there's Bitcoin involved, I'm definitely interested, I've been practising artwork for about 2 years now and I've linked my photobucket account here where I put all my artwork, even the stuff I haven't finished etc. anything basic involving a computer I can do such as copy typing/writing is very easy for me.
8555  Other / Off-topic / Re: I need to start reading the UPS labels more closely ... on: January 04, 2013, 06:27:40 AM
lol I doubt it's just UPS, I've forgotten the company but for Christmas I got a bunch of Jewellery tools, the guy gave the wrong package by accident and came back to swap, from now on I will be sure to never order anything during December and the new year.
8556  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are the free software projects you're looking forward to? on: January 04, 2013, 03:19:43 AM
Is this for Bitcoin related stuff or just in general? Because if I had to pick one Cheesy

http://www.pencil-animation.org/ - Quite easily the most awesomely powerful and simple little piece of animation software I have come across yet, it still seems to be very much in beta though, I should stress this isn't advanced enough yet to do any real detail and stuff but it would be great for getting started and making sure all the movement in your drawings are good, what I would do if I were to use this professionally is sketch out what I want and then export all the images and finish them off in photoshop.

I am happy to answer any questions or refute false claims.  We need to all do our homework so we know exactly how our system works.  If you do not know that then your spreading mis-information and that only gives more cover to the real exploitative actions happening in our economy.

I need to do more research in that case thanks for that Dalkore, I'd like to know the sources for where you got that from though.
8558  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: so why haven't the government taken notice...or have they? on: January 03, 2013, 05:44:59 AM
The governments of western countries are mostly made up of old white men who can't even operate a modern mobile phone easily.
8559  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone here has had luck or not on gambling site? on: January 03, 2013, 05:16:07 AM
Lost $150 on sdice  Undecided

.... You could have bought almost two years of web hosting with that depending on where you went to for it >_<
8560  Other / Meta / Re: Don't necro threads that haven't been posted in for months. on: January 03, 2013, 05:15:02 AM
What are you going to do then about people who whine for others to search for old posts instead of making duplicate threads? Cheesy
