861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO is the best way to invest? on: December 29, 2017, 02:05:15 PM
From what I've seen, it is an ICO or you buy after the dip after the release of a coin. Most bounty hunters will unload their tokens quickly before moving onto the next project. Most ICOs I have seen have made profit for their investors. Some more than others though.

Hi all.  For my wallet, do I need to assign a value for the description or the requested amount for tokens? Are my receiving addresses already operational?  I have the electrum wallet right now. I also see more than 15 receiving addresses as well.  Is that normal?
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gate.io exchange legit? on: December 29, 2017, 02:00:09 PM
I don't have any information on it other than it is really easy to get coins onto their exchanges. I don't really trust the reviews right now since it could all be shills for all we know.
864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Join The ICO Of The Biggest Crowdfunded Casino With 2300Ƀ PROFIT on: December 29, 2017, 01:39:57 PM
Bitdice has a good price now. After ICO, the price did not sink, but -  on the contrary - it increased. A great development team.

Yes. Price has always been good. The only problem is volume is pretty low and the token is only on one exchange HitBTC. I don't really like that exchange and I wish it was on another platform. But, I am not looking to sell anytime soon.
865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Centra Tech | Multi-Blockchain Worldwide Debit Card & Insured Wallet on: December 29, 2017, 01:37:16 PM
How do I get to the slack?

Try PMing one of the members that work for Centra Tech. They might be able to send you an invite. Otherwise, I think the invites might actually be closed. I am not really certain though.
866  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: December 29, 2017, 02:55:01 AM
I was thinking something like that as well. *puts tinfoil hat* How come that there is no 14TH/S version in last few months? I think last 14TH/s version was like in summer IIRC, since then rest of is only 13.5TH/s. And when they get rid off every S9 for 3k  Grin Grin Grin Grin they will announce new miner Cheesy *removes tinfoil hat*

I read 14Th/s batch have bad quality than 13.5th/s.
More complaint from customer...

It's true ?

Old topic... And no futures...

Stock firmware from Bitmain on the Antminer S9 isn't that great.  If someone re-writes the OS to increase efficiency, I will pay a dev fee.

I tried to reverse the system, with SSD, we can have access to everything.
But there are two solutions for now, use bmminer, and try to disable auto tune, and use any frequency (it's a risk).
Or maybe use ccminer, but it need to compile and work with Asic chip... And maybe it will be more efficiency...

The main question, is what is the goal ? More frequency ? Best cooling ?

Ultimately, to extend the life of the miner.  I use Blissz firmware on an antminer D3.  I can decrease the power consumption while keeping the hashing relatively high.  He also solved the fan noise issue.

If you install a custom firmware on the Antminer S9, won't that void the warranty from Bitmain? Is there a way to flash the firmware to factory if there is a problem?  Thanks in advance.
867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining going to die? on: December 29, 2017, 02:45:27 AM
One problem with mining is that it takes so much electricity to mine. Just look at bitcoin! Transaction fees are going to get bigger and transactions times may get longer. Right now, what is the power output of mining? It takes more energy than some countries? It will be interesting to see what we come up with in the future to combat the high electricity costs of mining.
868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too late to invest in cryptos if you're old? on: December 29, 2017, 02:42:55 AM
It is never too old to invest. It is like saying is it too old to invest in stocks? You can invest for your future or you can invest for family. You can invest to try to become a millionaire. All options are open. Take caution and do your own research.
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] FunFair.io - Disrupting Online Gaming - New Casino Platform on: December 29, 2017, 02:41:26 AM
Hello everybody. How do you think when the coin will cost $ 1. At whom what opinion on this bill. Thanks for the answer. Good luck to all.

Purely speculation.  The only thing that is predictable with cryptocurrency is that it isn't predictable.  It will be interesting what happens to the price when the platform is released and some casinos go online.  If it makes it to $1 a coin, I'll feel pretty rich!
Supposed to be released January 2018, Isn't it?

According to the company update December 2017:

High level 2018 Outlook:

Q1:

In January we will be submitting to the UK Gambling Commission our application for a Remote Gambling Software License.
In February we will be attending ICE Gaming, an international B2B conferencing event, where we will be introducing the FunFair brand to the gaming industry.
By the end of March V1 of the FunFair blockchain casino nears completion. This release will allow for real FUN to be used on the Main Ethereum Network for the first time.

This is huge. They will essentially run their own casino? If this is true, we may see a nice addition to online casinos. I love their current games right now on the Testnet. They are fast and beautiful to see. I can't wait to use my FUN tokens to gamble!
870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: December 29, 2017, 02:39:08 AM

More details of our four key hires, please go to:

Inspiring news I would say. These guys bring a lot of very relevant experience to the table. Particularly in regards to what Monaco wants to achieve in the future. Happy about it.

Inspiring? I would say disturbing. They hired Platform Architect just now? Looks like we can't count on card launch soon  Undecided

mate I know what you mean but I do think they are serious about everything. You can consider this as the glass being half empty. I prefer to see it as the glass being half full Wink

The problem is that sentiments like his create FUD. Which in turn creates prices dips. I agree that in the long term this will be a fantastic project but in the short-term, we may not like what we see. I hope for the very best outcome though. Better late than never!
871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SALT Community Membership on: December 29, 2017, 02:36:42 AM
No matter what the situation launching a viable new platform that makes real world applications a go has to increase the value of Salt from what it was.

I'm investing in Salt because it's not just another carbon copy shitcoin and its filling a gap in the global market and in my country if you hold longer term i.e. more than a year, you pay way less tax on your profits when you do cash in. so Salt and Power Ledger together make up more than 2/3rds of my portfolio.

It's also worth noting, just for those looking at the $$ and cents that this week Salt is outperforming all of the coinmarketcap.com top 15 coins..

Bitcoin
ETH
Bitcoin cash
Ripple
Dash
MIOTA
Cardano
Monero
Qtum etc
NOTHING comes close - ripple up 20% for the week isn't even a third of the Salts gains.. which makes any short term arguments academic in my eyes.

Salt is smashing it!
+75% up even in a very crappy week! If it wasn't for Korea mucking around I think this coin would already be AUD$10 higher or more.
Just wait for the bounce-back!!

I agree with your sentiment. One of the best things is that I see people trying to buy SALT tokens to arbitrage. I don't know if it will work but it is a nice idea.  SALT has value beyond just being a token. It may create a way to "cash out" via loans without taxes.
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Binance: $BNB The Future of Exchanges. on: December 29, 2017, 02:34:42 AM
I don't believe in binance anymore. China killed all these potentially profitable icos. I don't see any reason to use binance. Its cheaper than other exchanges I know but real deal was making us option to invest on asian icos.

Please check out our LaunchPad at https://launchpad.binance.com/

We will be updating and expanding this area of Binance to keep you connected to promising projects.

Binance is one of the best exchanges I have ever used. It is fast and simple. I have had no problems depositing nor withdrawing yet. My referrals are quickly displayed and I see my commissions as well.  Although a coin goes through a "drop" phase when it is listed on Binance, I do not fault them for it. Only problem is that I see a LOT of whales trading on it.
873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: December 29, 2017, 02:31:20 AM
I think I might configure my Dash miner to mine something else other than Dash. I'm probably going to go to a different X11 coin.  The problem is I don't know which one. Is there a pool that automatically switches to the most profitable coin for D3s?

Top 5 Cryptocurrencies Set For Success In 2018

2017 was the year of the bull for cryptocurrencies, experiencing a market growth from 17M to 580M at the time of writing, based on coinmarketcap.com. With this growth, we have seen some impressive projects surface, introducing new ways for value and information exchange with the use of cryptography. However, due to the overwhelming information and countless cryptos to choose from, we decided to create a list of promising cryptocurrencies based on upcoming roadmaps, adoption possibilities, foundations set in 2017, and practicality in use-cases. With 2018 right around the corner, here are some projects we project to do extremely well in the upcoming year.

If it is a modified X11 algo, can you still use D3 Miner?
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ICO] BitDice - Join The ICO Of The Biggest Crowdfunded Casino With 2300Ƀ PROFIT on: December 29, 2017, 02:07:49 AM
When do they plan to get a license? I have never seen announcements. Is It a long procedure?

Did you even read the white paper or even just the ICO page? https://ico.bitdice.me/en/

The answer to your question has been there since the ICO days, you are either lazy or dumb, probably both.  Roll Eyes

Roll Eyes  People want to be spoon fed information.
