Also, I just downloaded the new client but I'm getting an error about a missing library:

libdb_cxx-5.1.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

If this is a dependency (for gnu-linux), what's the relevant debian package to install?

Ok, I fixed the above with

Code:
sudo apt-get install libdb5.1++

But now I get this:

Code:
$ ./CryptogenicBullion-qt ./CryptogenicBullion-qt: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_system.so.1.46.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

This is awkward,

Code:
$ sudo apt-get install libboost-system-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
libboost-system-dev is already the newest version.

Seems like my system has libbost_system ver 1.54.  Do I really need to *downgrade* libboost in order to run this binary?

Artiface will reach out to assist you shortly.

Diversity is your best bet, but DO YOUR RESEARCH! I would suggest allocating a portion into Cryptogenic Bullion. It is very rare, serves a specific niche, minuscule inflation (mostly interest to its owners), hybrid algorithm security, established (9 months old), growing community and best of all for potential investors - very affordable at the moment.
www.cgb.holdings for more info.

Good luck to you!

Very nice site. Any update on when you are adding Cryptogenic Bullion?
www.cgb.holdings

Thanks, elambert,

Please add Cryptogenic Bullion for voting, so we could estimate user interest.

Ok, added, community will start voting now. Please, please, please don't follow the path of the dozens of exchanges opening now adding all coins. Be exclusive. Specialization is the key to volume. Oversaturation will kill your chance for differentiation. Think btc-e. Best wishes for your exchange!

888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Website release viral image contest! Win CGB for your submission! on: March 21, 2014, 03:35:20 PM
This contest will run until Sunday 23rd at night (EST). Create a viral image using one or more of the viral concepts found in the Marketing section of our new website www.cgb.holdings (it's still under construction). Post your image below!

For those who are not sure what a viral marketing image is, it's one that incorporates elements of mass appeal. As seen on the Marketing page of the website, we have already identified some of these possible elements including bank vault imagery, bull run imagery, stacking crypto (as in physical stack), got crypto? slogan, or crypto elements such as gateway, currency, and store of wealth. Feel free to use other memes and ideas! This is all to compliment our education campaign which aims to empower each new community member with the knowledge and tools to spread the word to yet more new members.

There will be a prize for first, second, and third place which will be judged by number of upvotes and comments or tips that your submission receives (we will repost images in our Reddit subforum).

Prize Pot is a total of 130CGB!! First place will win 60CGB, second place 40CGB, and third place 20CGB!

Sample images can be seen below.

Submissions can be any size. From our website launch party thread we had some offers to post banners and the sizes that have been suggested there are: 240x400, 300x600 300x250, 336x280, 468x60 and 160x600. In the past we have made some larger, more printable images at sizes of 1600x1035. Our home page logo is 1024x352 and slideshow type images that fit here would also be acceptable.

Hey guys, I noticed a posting on BCT from Adam, new Director of Marketing for the Vault of Satoshi, inquiring about alternative coins for research and potential listing. Go by for a visit if you get a chance and share your thoughts. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=519658.msg5749925#msg5749925

897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vault of Satoshi asks What Coins Do You Want to See? on: March 17, 2014, 06:50:01 PM
Hey Guys!

Adam here, new Director of Marketing at Vault of Satoshi! We've been having some internal discussions about adding new altcoin options to our exchange when we launch our new coin-to-coin trading system and we wanted to reach out to the public and get a feel for what coins they were most interested in seeing!

To be clear, we'd be looking to support these coins in coin-to-coin as well as in coin to fiat - as for what we are looking for in coins? We like coins that have a unique value proposition and aren't just a raw clone (unless they have a fantastic community behind them), or obviously coins with a fair volume. So when you request a coin let me know why you think it's unique, why you think it's going places and where it is at right now! Quite a few times we've been the first exchange to adopt smaller coins for direct fiat trade and we've found that's always helped their communities flourish!

I'm happy to be engaged in discussions of what you want to see on Vault of Satoshi in the future and look forward to your feedback. For the security skeptical you can reach out to me at adam@vaultofsatoshi.com to verify or ask any further questions

All the best,
Adam!

Hello Adam,
Congratulations on the new position! I would strongly suggest you have a look at Cryptogenic Bullion (CGB). CGB has been around since June of 2013, so it is clearly not a pump and dump coin that will be abandoned. CGB was designed primarily with the investor in mind. With its accelerated mining period for distribution, and fast declining inflation, CGB is now entering it’s final stage as an interest bearing, low inflation, cryptographic virtual commodity. The mining period began with a reward of 10 CGB per block and has been halving around every 30 days, until a baseline reward of 0.01 CGB per block is reached, where it will remain forever. This baseline reward will contribute only 0.5% annually to the overall inflation.

Up to 1.5% of the remaining inflation will be rewarded to the most prudent holders of CGB. To qualify for interest an investor must keep their funds unspent in their wallets for a minimum of 30 days (for 1.2% interest), and up to a maximum of 90 days (1.5% interest).

With the baseline mining reward expected to be reached within 1 year of release, and the annual inflation target of 2% fast approaching, there is no better time for the serious investor to get involved and claim a stake in this unique virtual commodity. The Vault of Satoshi would be the perfect platform for CGB to take a spot on the center stage in the crypto revolution. CGB aims to be a compliment to Bitcoin and DOGE. See CGB Marketing strategy document http://www.reddit.com/r/GotCrypto/comments/1x7j2w/cgb_open_source_community_development_and/

CGB's specs:
- Proof of Work/Proof of Stake Hybrid
- Scrypt
- Linear difficulty retarget (every 2 blocks)
- 5 Confirms
- 60 Second block time
- 10 Bullion per block (1st 55k blocks)
- Subsidy halving after every 50k blocks until reward of 0.01 is reached were it will remain in perpituity
- ~1,000,000 CryptogenicBullion with 0.5% annual PoW inflation
- 1.5 % Annual PoS

Our completely redesigned (appearance and text) will be launched in the next few days. More information can be found at our community's central hub on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptogenicBullion/

Thanks for your consideration. Keep up the great work at the Vault!
