881  Economy / Gambling / Re: 999LUCKYDICE GAMBLING on: September 09, 2023, 09:33:42 AM
I think it is part of a re-branding project that has gone wrong.....  Roll Eyes  You are focusing too much on the fact that you are not affiliated in any way with "999dice" ...so that is raising a red flag for me.  Roll Eyes

Also, why would someone register a domain name that are so similar to another site? (It is causing confusion and it might be some weird phishing attempt.... because people might be looking for another sites and then they accidentally click on your site, when they Google it)  Roll Eyes
882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Faruk Ozer, turkey crypto whizz sentenced to 11,196 years in jail? Wow! on: September 09, 2023, 09:18:07 AM
The judicial system sometimes use sentences like this to set an example for other people to think twice, before they commit crimes like this. Ross Ulbricht for example .... is an American serving life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for creating and operating the Darknet market website Silk Road.... everyone know his sentence was a big f@ck you message to everyone that wants to do the same thing.  Tongue

In some countries people gets longer sentences for financial crimes, than what they get for murder and rape and violent crimes ....weird but true.  Shocked
883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hope is all I have left on: September 09, 2023, 09:07:52 AM
People should not just buy small amounts of Bitcoin to try to acquire more bitcoins in the future.... you should make the Bitcoin price work for you. I also started out by buying bitcoins on a weekly basis.. but I felt that was the wrong strategy. (You say you can only buy every other month.... and that is forcing you to buy at any price.... )

The best thing to do is to hoard your money and then to wait for the Bitcoin price to go low.... then use all that money to buy at a low price and then when the price goes up... you sell those coins for a small profit and hoard the profit... until the price drop again.... then you buy again. (Just watch the fees ... and only do this if you made a good profit... that are way more than your fees)  Wink
884  Economy / Economics / Re: for anyone interested in how much their personal data is worth on: September 08, 2023, 06:50:54 AM
I think the use-case for the data are very important, because you derive profits from the targets that you are identifying with this data mining. Let's take the whole "faucet" era as an example and what ended their reign in the Crypto currency scene...

So, back in the day.... loads of Crypto faucets popped up like mushrooms and all of them were funded from Advertisement income. The sites went crazy to gain as much traffic as possible to receive more advertisement income....but it all ended in a "Bang" ...when the advertisement companies analyzed the traffic and realized that most of the traffic that were coming from these sites was worthless for marketing purposes.

How can you pay for traffic, when you have millions of people that are clicking a button to get a fraction of a cent... every hour? Is this the target consumer for products and services that you want to sell with those advertisements?

These companies want to target potential customers with a lot of money to spend.... and they pay premium prices for information on those type of targets.  Roll Eyes
885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your security is our top priority! on: September 08, 2023, 06:36:34 AM
I guess you create this thread prior to the recent Stake casino hacked incident. So expect that some Stake fan boys would attack you for this but don't worry because at the same time you can get a good impression from the others because they know that their funds are safe from your casino. I also like the fact that our data (KYC) is safe. This is one of the concern of the gamblers right now, knowing that almost all casinos know require a KYC.

There are lost of sites who have a 2FA but they are not mandatory and many people don't enable in their accounts. It make sense on why many users gets hacked but you here mandate it and a gambler can still play on your casino if they like other features that you offer.

What make you think that any gambling site can stand up to a North Korea hacker group? The FBI Identified the Lazarus Group Cyber Actors as the hackers for the theft of $41 Million from Stake.com.  Roll Eyes

We are not dealing with your average "Script kiddie" attack here, but rather a government sanctioned hack on a large scale. People can try to exploit this scenario and call people Stake fan boys for defending Stake.... but when the largest Crypto casino in the industry goes down, then it is just a matter of time, before the rest are targeted too.  Roll Eyes
886  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: September 08, 2023, 06:18:36 AM
The latest news or rather an update I just saw in one of the news channel I am following on telegram said that the FBI says North Korean hackers 'Lazarus Group' are behind Stake․com's $41 million crypto theft.

I don't know how true this is since there is no reference link or site attached to the news yet ..

But my question now is, if this supposedly turns out to be true, is there any chance of stake getting that money back?, Since the group behind the hack has been uncovered or discovered ?

Who is going to go into North Korea to claim back that money that was stolen from Stake? The "Missile Man" will not even respond to allegations like that and will continue to launch test missiles all over the ocean.   Grin

I see Stake dropped a $10 Bonus Drop for the kickoff Game of the NFL, but I do not see anything for the kickoff game of the Rugby World Cup? Cmon, Stake...... give some joy to the Rugby supporters too....  Grin
887  Bitcoin / Press / [2023-09-08] BTC ETF: The quiet 800-pound gorilla in the room is about to roar on: September 08, 2023, 06:05:24 AM
"A Bitcoin ETF will likely be approved in the U.S. by the end of 2023. The general public has no idea this is about to happen."

" BlackRock’s track record of ETF application approvals is nothing short of superb..... BlackRock’s 99.8% approval rate suggests so. "

" Eric Balchunas, a senior ETF analyst for Bloomberg Intelligence, believes there is a 75% chance of a spot Bitcoin ETF getting SEC approval this year. He ups the odds to 95% by the end of 2024. "

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/bitcoin-etf-quiet-800-pound-030500822.html

So this is good news for the speculators and the price watchers, but bad news for the true Bitcoiners. Do we need large trigger happy institutional investors to dominate the markets and to cause even more price volatility?

Let's discuss this to see where you stand on the whole issue.  Roll Eyes
888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How are we going to beat the reptilians when monkeys are kicking our ass? on: September 08, 2023, 05:40:33 AM
I have said from the start that the Lightning Network is too complex and too much extra effort for ordinary people. The developers found a side-chain solution, but it is not a user-friendly and simple concept.

We need an on-chain solution for the congested periods and we need a supplementary "reward" for miners, when the Block reward falls away... because the tx fees is simply not going to replace it...and still be profitable for the miners.  Roll Eyes

You cannot implement side-chains that will effectively reduce on-chain transactions and still think that enough transactions will still take place to generate enough tx fees to reward miners in the future.  Roll Eyes
889  Economy / Economics / Re: Top richest from history, one hyperinflated the economy single handedly! on: September 07, 2023, 06:16:48 AM
I thought the Inca Kings were the richest people in the world at some stage (fifteenth and sixteenth centuries)  Huh  .... I have read that Atahualpa's treasure amounted to 221,089 ounces of 22-karat gold, which would have been valued at more than $387 million today.

In any way, thank you for posting this... it is interesting that the Egyptians were so rich and to think that a pyramid was originally built by 4,000 workers over the course of 20 years and it will cost about $5 billion to build one today. (in 5 years with modern equiptment)  Shocked Shocked Shocked
890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Control Your Emotions and Win More Bets on: September 07, 2023, 05:57:42 AM
How can you brain calm down, if the whole gambling scene are geared to target the stimulation of those endorphins? Let's move away from Sports betting and focus on Slots...

The third party Slot providers have perfected the strategy to develop games that actively stimulate the brain to release those endorphins... but just enough to keep you going for longer and longer. Example : Most slot games will let you win small amounts on a continued basis.. which will trigger the release of those "good feel" endorphins.... and you will subconsciously continue doing it, because you gradually get addicted to it.

They cannot develop something that will not give you those small "rewards" ...because you will stop playing... so they allow you to win small amounts..... but if you look at the overall graph of your play, you will notice that you are losing all your money over a longer period. (This is the pattern ==> lose lose lose ...small win .... lose lose lose lose .... small win..... lose lose lose lose lose .... free spins... lose lose lose...... )  Roll Eyes
891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Littleboy's altcoin casino on: September 07, 2023, 05:36:24 AM
I fired up a virtual machine to try this one, because I am always hesitant to test new sites on my "main" computer and I have to say that you might have been too quick to open this up to the public, because it looks like one huge site under construction.  Roll Eyes

The games are sluggish and not well rounded, but it is playable... so you can get some joy from that. The thing is.... there are so many other sites to choose from with similar games... so you should consider working on offering something different to draw the gamblers to your site.

Good luck with your site.....  Wink
892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jakarta is in a pollution emergency, Is it caused by crypto mining? on: September 07, 2023, 05:26:21 AM
"Air pollution in Jakarta has hit such dire levels recently that the Indonesian capital has been named the most polluted city on Earth. Both the city and national governments blame vehicle emissions for the problem, yet deny that the more than a dozen coal-fired power plants ringing the city are a factor."

Source : https://news.mongabay.com/2023/08/jakarta-snags-most-polluted-title-as-air-quality-plunges-and-officials-dither/

It is estimated that about half of Jakarta's air pollution is caused by vehicular emissions, and coal combustion contributed only about 14% of the air pollution.

So, No.... let's not blame everything that goes wrong on "Bitcoin"  Roll Eyes
893  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is KYC mandatory in CEX? on: September 07, 2023, 05:19:18 AM
The moment when an Exchange touch Fiat currencies, it has to adhere to local governments rules and regulations. These regulations were introduced to follow the money trail to trace financial crimes and to monitor and control people's finances.

They use money laundering as an excuse and also other financial crimes, but an added benefit for them is the monitoring of people's financial wealth and also to help them with the collecting of taxes. (The money that are paying their salaries)  Roll Eyes
894  Economy / Economics / Re: To afford personal education or a property? Where to allocate funds? on: September 06, 2023, 06:13:24 AM
A higher education does not guarantee you a better job with a better salary, because you are competing with a lot of other people that have similar qualifications and even more experience.

I would rather invest in a second property that can generate income that can be used to fund my future education and also help to pay the bills. (Many students fund their studies with loans (debt) and then live in poverty, trying to pay back that debt ... Example : doctors)

Ps... Choosing the right property in the right location are crucial, so do proper research before you invest blindly into the property market.
895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: September 06, 2023, 06:03:53 AM
My best advice to you and other people having the same problem is this :

1. Find the reason why you are gambling and then find alternatives to replace it. (Example : Boredom = replace it with some other activity like Sport or some new hobby)

2. Find psychological reasons for the addiction.... (Example : Depression / compulsive behavior = Go speak to professional people to find some ways to deal with that)

3. Ask family and friends for support (They can keep you busy with something else or you can talk to them, when you get the urge to start gambling again)

4. Try to delete your accounts and use self exclusion mechanisms provided by some casinos to stop you from accessing their sites.

5. Block all communication and promotions that are coming from gambling related sites. (Also use Advertisement blockers on your browser and phone)

Good luck.... I hope you can get some help and that some of my advice will help you.  Wink
896  Economy / Gambling / Re: Loophole in stopping Money Laundering through Wagering on: September 06, 2023, 05:49:37 AM
A money laundering syndicate will not use this method to launder their money, because they will lose too much money in the process. Let's take Stake.com for instance.... you can put Dice on a 98% win change and still spend $100 for every $10 000 wagered.... and then you will trigger their money laundering matrix if you have a pattern of just wagering and withdrawing the proceeds.  Roll Eyes

It is more profitable for them to use "front" companies with cooked books and then pushing those fake profits through the traditional Banking system, like they did in the past.  Tongue
897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Summarizing issues in the bitcoin community and how to address them. on: September 06, 2023, 05:39:58 AM
I think developers should find side-chain solutions for Ordinals to be used just for that.... it will reduce "dust" on-chain and it can alleviate congestion in the Mempool.  Tongue

They developed the "Lightning Network" for faster and cheaper micro transactions, so why can they not develop something just for Ordinals to run on?

They also found better solutions for "On-chain" casinos like SatoshiDice to replace services that congested the Blockchain with "dust" transactions. (find better and more efficient ways to do something)
898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency restrictions in some countries is a blessing in disguise. on: September 06, 2023, 05:28:05 AM
I think one of the main factors why adoption increase, where Bitcoin are banned ..is this ==> People (criminals) become aware that Crypto currencies can be used for financial crimes, when a government starts to ban it, so they start using it... because they know it will work.

Some of these criminals used traditional financial tools for these financial crimes, but the banning of something that are uncontrollable by a government, peak their interest.. so they switch to that. (Ponzi schemes and Ransomware used Fiat payment systems before they started using Crypto currencies)  Roll Eyes
899  Economy / Economics / Re: What has really been behind china's economy on: September 05, 2023, 06:34:06 AM
I think I will rather stay in a country where my civil rights are protected and where I can still strike, if my employer abuse those rights. The Chinese government and their leaders ...run that country with an iron fist... and the citizens have very little freedom.

The economic data that are released are not verified and not transparent at all.... so the little bit of information that are released are most probably manipulated.

The sad part is that the Chinese people are happy with that.... and it works for them, but I do not want to live there for all the money in the world.  Wink
900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your security is our top priority! on: September 05, 2023, 06:17:21 AM
How do you protect players from hackers that are hacking users accounts and then playing for fun with their money? I have recently seen someone with Two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled that lost all their money, because the hacker was spiteful when they could not withdraw the money.... so they just put crazy bets on the games and lost all the money.  Roll Eyes

I also use Two-factor authentication (2FA) on all my accounts, but it can be a f@ckup when you lose access to your phone or email account. (Backup those phrases, when it ask you to do it... and thank me later)  Cheesy
