882  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-02-22]The Guardian: Can a Bitcoin-style virtual currency solve the Greek.. on: February 23, 2015, 02:23:50 AM
The problem is not the currency they're using but the way they're spending it. All debts the monetary system has created are not real, that's why some countries like Iceland decided not to repay theirs.
883  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: HOME MINER: Lacking products in market. on: February 23, 2015, 12:32:29 AM
We came to a point where the most cost efficient miners are also incredibly power hungry. It's probably going to look worse for home miners in the future.
Fun ends when you have to hire an electrician to help power your new toy.
884  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help me developing project on: February 23, 2015, 12:13:31 AM
It looks like you could use some machines to help with the work. If there's too much water you could dig ditches to keep prevent the crops from being flooded.
It's a beautiful island, if you have enough land you could build bungalows and rent them to tourists for bitcoin Wink
885  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin says Russia's military strength unmatchable on: February 22, 2015, 11:03:42 PM
I remember watching a video of the military strengths of different countries. Russia was way behind, since they used all the old tanks from the wars, and their Budget is 1/10th of US Military budget
That's right most of their army consists of cold war projects later outfitted with new types of radars, night vision, countermeasures and so on. For example their main light vehicle BMP-1 came into production in the 60s and is still used as a platform for many different weapons and as a troop transport. Their main long range bomber  Tupolev Tu-95 was made in the 50s. The only thing Russia has the most in the world is nuclear warheads, but most of them are old and kept in a rusty pre cold war bunkers.

Oh, and let's not forget they have a whole 1 carrier! Italy and India have 2 and the US - 10 Cheesy What is funny they had 2 but sold one to China Wink
886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming… fashionable? Like, literally. on: February 22, 2015, 08:27:52 PM
We have reached 1000 USD when bitcoin wasn't fashionable in 2013, it was still a nerd money back then and a speculator's playground. When it becomes trendy like apple products we'll see new highs Wink

The Earth is so old that there could have been different worlds before the one we know. Our history reaches only a couple thousand years back and dates like 6000 BC (ancient Egypt) seem to be difficult to comprehend. An analysis of some of the oldest minerals dated them at almost 4 billion years, so there could be hundreds of evolutions in Earth's life. Civilisations were created, fell and turned to dust and from the dust came new animals that took thousands of years to evolve. Who knows, maybe our ancestors left Earth a million years ago and are now living in another galaxy. That "god" you are talking about could be an alien being that created us long ago and that "miracle" just a scientific experiment.

"The earth and universe haven't come into existence, yet. They and we are all a figment of our own imagination." How do you know this isn't true?

There isn't any proof that the earth is older than 6,000 years. There is only interpretation of a geological record that can be interpreted many ways. There are also a bunch of unknown factors that could change how we interpret all the things that we interpret.

The best that we have is the record of Moses, who was in a position as an adopted grandson of a Pharaoh, where he could read all the ancient writings from the beginning, that had been stored up in the various libraries of Egypt, at the time that Egypt was the dominant kingdom on the earth. He writes both what the records say, and the things that people handed down by word of mouth as tradition. And he writes in the form that God wants him to write.

Moses' words in the first 5 books of the Bible are what happened on earth as recorded by the eye witness who where there when the things happened. Believe the records of the witnesses, not your faulty interpretations of the geological record.

Smiley

Actually there is. For example this temple was built over 9000 years ago.

What about dinosaurs? You want us to believe they lived less than 6000 years ago?
888  Other / Off-topic / Re: What phone do you use and what do you think about it? on: February 22, 2015, 07:03:00 PM
I have a number of S galaxy phones in my family. An S2, S4 and S5. All are great and reliable, the oldest one has over 2 years and works fine.

The FBI wants to help you receive your 6 million USD, nice! Nothing suspicious here, move on citizens!  Cool
890  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 02-21-2015 Bitcoin Holders Become High-Value Targets For Hoodlums on: February 22, 2015, 06:44:02 PM
Wow, big deal. What about gold holders, silver holders, diamond holders, cash holders, bond holders and art holders?
These days you can be a target if you have expensive clothes.

The great Russian military power. I bet they have enough rusty junk to match the rest of the world.

Probably another casino felt threatened and pulled the strings.

I still can't understand why anyone would send a swat team to someone's house, knowing he operates a registered business, has a family and owns a property. We aren't talking about some terrorist, they should have just order him to come to a hearing in court, especially that he was just a suspect and they had nothing on him at the time of the arrest.

895  Economy / Economics / Re: why do people agree to pay taxes? on: February 22, 2015, 05:33:43 PM
Not depending on someone else to hold your money is progress not anarchy. People can still do everything they are doing now with bitcoin instead of fiat and that includes paying taxes.
896  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are you going to invest in now that the Bitcoin Fever is gone? on: February 22, 2015, 03:18:20 AM
Investing in bitcoin from 2014 have proved to be a bad investment and now we can say that the bitcoin fever is gone..

so what are you going to invest now, in this post-bitcoin era?

I would not say we are now at the post-bitcoin era, bitcoin still "new", is not too old and there is a lot of people out there who dont know what is bitcoin.

As other users here, i think now is a good time to invest on bitcoin.

We are in a post bubble era. Those who think the fever is gone should look at the number of addresses in use and the number of transactions.

897  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin up or down on: February 22, 2015, 03:09:27 AM
We'll go up. Bitcoin is a groundbreaking technology and will gain value, but a small dumps are to be expected along the way.

"Amber Ellis was arrested for maiming and assault with a dangerous weapon."

I wonder what was considered the weapon, her teeth or the laptop. Cheesy
899  Other / Off-topic / Re: Using Nutella as CPU Thermal Paste on: February 22, 2015, 02:19:01 AM
Many things will work like a thermal grease. Back in the day when I was interested in overclocking I used to out of it and a friend told me to use a drop of vegetable oil.
The main purpose of thermal grease is not to allow air between the surfaces, because it's a good insulator. Oil does that and won't evaporate like water, you also don't have to spread it evenly.
900  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: February 22, 2015, 02:02:52 AM
you'll be rich

don't let money change you

He's already rich if he can afford buying 100BTC. At least in my view. I'd be happy to have 10.

100 BTC is around 25k dollar right now...
Still a lot especially if you follow the "invest only what you can afford to lose" rule.
