Thank you everyone, who shared your answers and suggestions. I appreciate your comments. I think that I will give a try to run a faucet this spring. Starting budget is 1 BTC. We'll see how it goes.

Radium Update #24 — SmartChain Mercury Technical Update & Beta 2

A big thank-you to those who participated and helped test the SmartChain Mercury Beta. Based on your feedback, some additional features and tweaks have been made to improve the overall experience. Because some of these changes required some larger protocol tweaks, we've decided to release a second beta, just to make sure all the bugs were taken care of before going live on the main net.

Some fixes and features include:
  • Stopping the password prompt from showing when the wallet is not locked
  • Fixing a database insertion error on slow CPU’s
  • Fix some rounding display issues
  • Remove language and filtering selection options that are not yet supported
  • Add alerts for new client versions
  • Reduce SmartChain operation costs to remain price competitive
  • Various groundwork and encoding tweaks needed for future multi-language support

For those interested in assisting with beta testing, the clients are available on GitHub. Do not hesitate to send us feedback, suggestions, and bug reports by contacting us on the Radium Official Telegram group chat. Testnet coins are also available from several active members, just message in chat and ask!

 — The Radium Team

Greab job done by RADS team! Looking forward SmartChain Mercury going live on the main net. Great times are coming for RADS supporters and investors.
883  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do i start an Escrow Service? on: February 20, 2017, 09:43:50 AM
I'm also interested to become an escrow. I'm preparing all the information needed for this service. I plan do not charge any fees for my service until I establish trust around community members. I also think that Sr. Memeber status is not as good for escrow as Hero or Legendary member's. So, I think I should start slowly but do not expect much services at the start.
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GNT] Golem Project - The world’s most powerful supercomputer on: February 20, 2017, 09:41:16 AM
So lets say 5K satoshi is a realistic price prediction. This entails the marketcap would be about 4,100BTC, this translates to a little over $43 Million.
This would put Golem at number 11 on the coinmarketcap list and would put it at about half the total market cap of MaidSafeCoin. I would say this is a
realistic prediction in the medium term.

So lets look at the 50K prediction: 820,000,000 Golem x 50K Satoshi = 410,000BTC = $430.5 Million
This would put it at number three on the coinmarketcap list, third only to Ripple and Bitcoin. Do not honestly see that happening.

Now if we are talking pure pie in the sky speculation; it could outpace Bitcoin since it isn't actually intended to be a currency but a purchasing token primarily for
CGI rendering, but that is a billion to one chance.
50k satoshi is to much, I think the fair price, it should be between 5k satoshi and 10k satoshi.

I absolutely agree with you. The price should be in the range of 5-10k satoshi considering the development of the project. It is overvalued for the meantime as project was just started. But I wouldn't be surprised if price will reach 4k this month. All depends on the movement of Bitcoin price.

Finally, very interesting project on gambling. Fairness and transparency are lacking in casino industry and most of the sites are abusing its users by cheating on them. Edgeless looks different and I wish good luck to the team in their ICO. I'm joining signature campaign to support it.
888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GNT] Golem Project - The world’s most powerful supercomputer on: February 19, 2017, 09:43:08 AM
What will the price be this time tomorrow ?

My guess is 5400 sats.

Any other opinions?

It seems that price is shrinking and it will go down today. As I said, BTC rally destroyed all the altcoins. It is like to play a game "Worms"  Smiley BTC will eat everythin on its way to glory.
I think it will not recover and go down to 2000 sat area and if BTC continues the rise it is possible  that it will go down even to 1000 sat area.
Just look, all the the altcoin markets are in blood except some idiotic pumps for no reason.

889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About PoS on: February 18, 2017, 09:47:43 PM
I like PoS mining because it is eco friendly and doesn't use a lot of CPU or GPU resources. Ethereum also is moving towards PoS mining.
As said by others, there are many PoS coins. I like Decred, Reddcoin, Stratis and Navcoin. But you should check what are the most profitable to mine and the best option to do it is on raspberry pi. You can keep your wallet open 24/7 and get max profits. Unfortunately, not all projects support it.
890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GNT] Golem Project - The world’s most powerful supercomputer on: February 18, 2017, 09:32:53 PM

This coin opened at .02 btc on Poloniex, and has fallen 99.83% there since.  Currently .00003408.  This brings the value in line with the rest of the world?

I know nothing about this coin, I just read the AP, it seems it actually has a purpose.

Actually, I don't know how Poloniex is listing new coins but I do not believe that someone bought this coin for 0.02 BTC. It's weird. The same "statistics" on Polo was when Pascal was listed. Do not pay attention to these numbers, GNT is up ~70%.
891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GNT] Golem Project - The world’s most powerful supercomputer on: February 18, 2017, 02:25:51 PM
Need approximately 650 btc to reach 5k sats

It is possible until tommorow. Charts are looking promising.
892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GNT] Golem Project - The world’s most powerful supercomputer on: February 18, 2017, 02:08:05 PM
Do you think golem will have a pump or it will swing between 3k-4k sat? From the current huge market cap, it can hardly get pumped any more.

I'm very doubtful about the pump because of BTC rally and total supply of GNT tokens. It seems that price is very high and it can go down to 2000 sat area. I bought around these numbers on Liqui exchange. However, volume is good and we can expect some spikes to 4000-4500 sat territory.
In long term I expect the value of GNT tokens going up to 5000 sat and more.

it can get up like maidsafe coin, like 100 Mill. marketcap in longterm ...

Roadmap:
Brass Golem
Clay Golem
Stone Golem
Iron Golem

will take up to 3 years.

It is no doubt about the success in long term as computation power projects are almost always very successful. But I have some doubts about the pump in comparison with Pascal. Maybe it can reach 4000-4500 sat. But, generally, rise of BTC is causing that people, who bought cheap GNT, are selling it now.

895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE RISE AND RISE OF MONERO on: February 17, 2017, 10:47:20 AM
Monero is only useful if you're buying something illegal but I'm doubt if it can ever get more attention. Anonymous coins has very small niche for adoption Monero has no marketing plan and it is only associated with criminals. It also doesn't help to spread a word about XMR. Having this said, how can you expect ordinary Joe to use this currency, for example, buying a cup of coffe? Why he needs it? In my opinion, Monero should continue to do what it is doing but I do not expect the rise of adoption or price.
896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins... One year later on: February 17, 2017, 10:30:28 AM
I'm not a Bitcoin maximalist but one of my friends is. I was trying to discuss with him the altcoin market but numbers are showing that there are no reasons for discussion. As only Bitcoin goes up, altcoin market crashes. So, I'm not very convinced that altcoins will survive. You can speculate but there are no alts better than BTC. Almost all of them are scam coins.

898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Blockchain powered immutable cloud computer on: February 16, 2017, 10:52:23 AM
LOL

And again down for over 2 weeks and back to 0.00026.
The whole rising is gone and still people act like all is great ??

This coins is going steady down since 20 July 2016, I don't know what this brings in the future,
but if I draw the line, things only can go down further.
Or a reall great boost is needed, and I don't see that.

Still have 2K+ question is for how long Wink

Bitcoin rise smashed up all the altcoins including Expanse. Your suggestion of EXP going down is justified if only Bitcoin rally continues to 2000-3000 USD area. In that case all the altcoins will crash significantly. I was skeptical regarding the BTC rise but now I see that I was completely wrong. Bull trend continues and alts are crashing everyday. So, it is more sophisticated to hold all the portfolio in BTC while bull trend is intact.
899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People really are falling HARD for the Chronobank scam on: February 15, 2017, 09:18:21 PM
I'm not calling ChronoBank a scam but it will be very difficult to implement their ideas in reality. Or I can say a little bit different - the world is not ready for ChronoBank IMO.
