Obama Coin obviously  Grin

Second most popular currency in the US, it's beating Bitcoin!  Angry

Both the Lancelots and the Bitfury boards are controlled through USB. I am thinking they will continue to use USB. I believe it provides more control for overclocking.
Nope. Ethernet only. The bitfury boards are also not controlled via USB... not sure where you got that from.

http://technobit.eu/index.php?id_product=52&controller=product&id_lang=1
And those are not BA Bitfury boards. Your point?
Your also arguing with someone that has ~100 boards... no usb anywhere to be found.

I'm not trying to argue with you, just hinting you can get Bitfury chips on boards with USB that allow for overclocking, and that's where he got that from.
883  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The "What Black Arrow does not want you to know" thread on: November 21, 2013, 08:54:15 PM
If you think the Black Arrow one was bad... how about BFL Monarch render and recently them lifting a picture from Rice University for their hosting?! http://www.pgal.com/portfolio/rice-university-data-center-2/  vs.  http://www.butterflylabs.com/landing/slanding.php

LOL awesome   Grin

Yeah similar to BFL and it took them a year to get the bugs worked out of their own custom ASIC!
Ask those who pre-ordered Jalapeņos how that worked out for them.  Roll Eyes

Quote
no, they delivered fpgas month ago

That also reminds me of the bASIC pre-orders, whatever happened to BTCFPGA.com? Wink

Both these two made their own FPGAs and failed at ASICs.

PayPal is not yet working properly. We wrote them and waiting for reply.

Despite what they say about not being able to accept PayPal/Credit Cards for Bitcoin orders both KnCminer.com and technobit.eu manage to do it, probably because they can deliver within the 45 days refund window and not funding product development with customer money.

If you're new around here just be aware putting money into pre-orders can be damaging to your wealth!  Cheesy

Sorry, assumed nobody used nvidia  Tongue

You need the nVidia equivalent of OpenCL https://developer.nvidia.com/opencl

but your GPU may be so old it doesn't have CUDA, 8000 range was the oldest I think that had it.

15 MH/s is like 0.0003 BTC a month, which probably doesn't cover your electricity costs!

I recommend this 40GH/s which will mine you about 1BTC per month currently
http://technobit.eu/index.php?id_product=52&controller=product&id_lang=1

they also sell a cheaper 24GH/s one which will mine you about 0.6BTC a month
http://technobit.eu/index.php?id_product=47&controller=product&id_lang=1

or if you're really poor 2.3GH/s which is about 0.06 BTC per month

Try bitminter it has an easy to use Java app for mining or GUIminer, both are much easier to use.

but most likely your problem is not having installed AMD OpenCL

890  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: QUESTION....A truly secure wallet? etc on: November 21, 2013, 06:44:13 PM
The problem with leaving money on an exchange is that your 3rd party is unregulated and if the they go bust, get hacked, or simply run off with the money, you're the one left out of pocket! Always keep that in the back of you mind if leaving $thousands there!
891  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As within, so without on: November 21, 2013, 06:35:32 PM
Scrypt asics coming early in 2014 by the way.

I'll believe it when I see it.

The Scrypt algorithm used in Litecoin was designed to use large amounts of expensive memory to keep them uneconomical to produce.
Did the price of memory suddenly go down or the price of Litecoin go up? Wink
892  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As within, so without on: November 21, 2013, 06:33:42 PM
Litecoin is the most distributed network and least likely to be taken over.

I call it the Communist version of Bitcoin, because they made sure those capitalist pigs couldn't make ASICs to concentrate the supply of coin production into the hands of the few!

Litecoin keeps the printing press in the hands of the many and mining on a level playing field.
893  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: best android wallet on: November 21, 2013, 06:27:40 PM

894  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: QUESTION....A truly secure wallet? etc on: November 21, 2013, 06:25:47 PM
This is where Im not getting it I guess....How would I go about purchasing more bitcoin down the road?  Wouldn't I HAVE to use a service/exchange? How else could I buy more, other than face to face?

Yes to buy more Bitcoins for Fiat you would use an exchange but you could transfer them to your own wallet after purchase.

You could also sell items and say "accepting Bitcoin" and get them to pay directly into your own wallet.

You could buy a Bitcoin mining machine, and get it to pay directly into your own wallet.
895  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WTB : 600GH/s - 1.2TH/s on: November 21, 2013, 06:20:49 PM
Good luck with that, nobody will want to part with it!

This is currently the best proven real machine you can buy 550GH/s.

https://www.kncminer.com/products/jupiter-november-shipping--sold-out

You should register your interest with them if you want one from the next production run.
896  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: QUESTION....A truly secure wallet? etc on: November 21, 2013, 06:13:34 PM
An exchange is just for converting one kind of money into another.

Bitcoins can live in their own wallet that only you have control of.

You can spend bitcoins directly into the economy with anyone who accepts bitcoins as payment. www.takeaway.com

Like owning a gold coin it will be up to you to keep it safe.
897  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: cant seem to get my 1st btc on: November 21, 2013, 05:30:20 PM
Sell something and say "accepting Bitcoin" that's the easiest way to get them!  Wink
898  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Network Hashrate on: November 21, 2013, 05:21:21 PM
The hash rate is a reflection of how many people/computing power are mining for it.

The miners are competing to win the coin reward and to keep the amount of new coins entering supply stable the difficulty of mining is raised or lowered.
899  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: QUESTION....A truly secure wallet? etc on: November 21, 2013, 05:12:38 PM
Bitcoin Wallet is probably the best for a tech noob, see..

http://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

If you make a wallet through a 3rd party you have to trust them like having your cash in a bank, except there is no regulator to bail you out if they go bust or get robbed!
900  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: price the BTC will stabilize on on: November 21, 2013, 04:50:41 PM
Bitcoin is already valued well above what eBay paid for PayPal $1.5bn...

so lets speculate what it's value is worth if it could pull off as many transactions as the VISA payment system...

you would need a price of around $6000 per BTC!

Buy, hold, and promote Bitcoin in every store you use by asking "do you take Bitcoin?" Wink
