wow lots o drama going on here.

To be fair to both sides, my sn on satoshi is sootedtho. Just the other day ibetufold accused me and another player of being bots because we both sat out at the same time. (coincidence) I can understand his vigilance in the whole bot issue but dont call out every player on the site:) The bots are very exploitable so let them stay imo. They mostly just sit out in my experience so just gotta outlast them.

On the other hand, if in fact satoshi is using house bots (no opinion either way) that is not only unethical but probably in violation of some rules:)  I understand that u all are losing btc's per day but i hope there are no house bots to try and get some of that back. Also i have never seen a rep. for a company flame so hard on a customer, especially a customer that plays so much.

Anyway i hope this all gets sorted out so both parties feel comfortable in the future. Satoshi poker is my favorite btc site atm and i want to see continued success!!! great software, instant cashouts and perhaps extremely exploitable bots....whats not to love.

Oh and i am very interested in promoting satoshi poker as much as possible to gain a deeper players pool

I've gotta say... that seems pretty unprofessional to me. The way the site (anyone who represents them is essentially acting on behalf of the site) treats people, regardless of the reason, is just not right. The only other businesses I've seen do that have failed as a result.

You never argue with customers. If they are in the wrong and for whatever reason can't see that, just leave it be.
8922  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC for L$ Linden Dollars on: June 11, 2013, 01:41:52 PM
If anyone is interested in trading BTC for L$ please PM me. I can provide real world US based contact info and my avatar dates to 2006. I am also affiliated to TradeLindens.com, a retail exchange operating since 2007.

Thank you.

Can I ask what the L$ are for? Like why would people want to buy them?

They are used to trade and buy in-game merchandise in the game Second Life (www.secondlife.com). They are a viable currency in and of themselves and easy to trade for fiat.

Pablo.

I know about SL... I'm just not following why people care so much, lol. I guess people take that not as a game but as being like.. life... hence the name, o.o.

I have to admit that I have not tried to back it up while the client is open, but I will definitely say it would be safer to back it up when it is closed.  As far as I know, and someone may correct me, but you wallet should just contain your private key, and you really should only need to update a backup if you change your encryption/password.  ALL transactions for a given coin, both those related and those unrelated to your wallet, are stored in the block-chain, so the transactions and even your balance are not in the wallet, per se.

My understanding is it also has all your addresses (preallocating 100 and adding another after each transaction).

Yes, very good point.  I believe that is the case as well.  Forgot that part....

This is not something you want to forget about, XD

Can anyone please tell me if this is a bug? Just opened my DGC client and saw that it is trying to sync. It shows that there are 268k blocks remaining on the sync, but it shows all my latest transactions (as of a couple days ago) as confirmed. Also, it says the last block received was generated 18 seconds ago.

Just restart your client. Your funds are safe. Sometimes there's some other coin's chain conflicting I think although I didn't see that  error for few days already. I guess the network is getting stronger.

Thanks for the confirmation. Did it and now everything looks fine!

Just wasn't sure if that was something I should worry about or not; figured something may be corrupted and with cryptos, I've learned (reading posts) that the smallest mistake can make you lose everything, :p.

Just make sure you have multiple backups of your encrypted wallet.dat file.  I've had PC issues that have required deleting and re-downloading different coin block-chains on multiple occasions.  But as blizz said, as long as you have a good copy/backup of your wallet.dat file, you should be fine.

Ah, yeah, this is something I haven't done yet: back it up.

Question: does the backup have to be done with the wallet closed? My issue is I want to do automated backups of the wallet files so I don't have to keep remembering to.

I created a new account at support.mtgox.com and created new question.
Finally, the new desk helper is able to respond with answers that are less random:)

Please report back with whether or not your problem gets resolved. I'm hoping for the best!

This has been happening to me every single time I leave my wallet open in the background. Just have to keep restarting it when it pops up again... more a nuisance than anything else.

This helps explain it. I leave my wallets open when I "hibernate" the PC.

It doesn't *appear* to be causing problems; seems like it might just be visual. Still pulls in blocks as they come up. So hopefully the hibernating with wallets up is fine. I haven't run into any problems yet...

I think i'll think pass on this xbox.
I said this for most of this generation of consoles. I enjoy PC gaming much much more.

Well I like it as well, the problem is I am missing out on adventure games like uncharted and heavy rain. I was happy that mass effect came to PC though.

Hopefully, developers will tell Microsoft where to go and revert to PC, unlikely but we can wish can't we?

lol, sadly this is never going to happen. If it did, they'd move from DirectX and on to OpenGL for cross-platform games. Sadly Microsoft still has the monopoly and for the foreseeable future still will.
It's sad but I guess it's the truth.  Sad

Oh, it definitely is. And it's the only reason I still use Windows over Ubuntu: gaming. There was one group that was trying to create a DX implementation for Linux but there have been no updates since 2011. Guessing it fell apart.

We NEED something better than WINE.

There must be a villain version of him too.

Bitcoingrinch?
Coinbitman? (He could bite Bitcoinman)
Remember the saying. It must be the same person but just evil.

"The only difference between them is one has a cape"
That's usually how bad guys are made in movies.

What happens if both of them have a cape? How do we know which one's good?

Its not every time, looks like we went from MNC to FTC, and it is still working.

I actually had a hang up as well. I think it was due to a disconnect but I'm not 100% sure on that...

8935  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Raspberry Coins - Cyclone V - 28nm based FPGA miner on: June 11, 2013, 12:50:40 PM
The second part of my reply is FLEXIBILITY.  These devices are NOT purpose built-ASIC's.  We are investigating utilizing the 12.4 Mb built-in memory (1,220 M10K blocks) per FPGA (24.8 Mb, 2,440 M10K blocks total) for use in Litecoin mining.  A purpose-built, Bitcoin mining ASIC can never be re-targeted for other uses.  These FPGA's on the other hand are MUCH more flexible.

Question for the FPGA experts. Is this really enough memory for scrypt mining. Its on-die and wide bandwidth, so beats external memory, but what performance could be expected? I understand scrypt uses a 100kB lookup table, so does 24.8Mb (3MByte) equate to ~30   threads, or not? How will it compare with GPU?

I don't think anyone can accurately answer that without testing first. Just like ASIC's, tests are showing up different than theories.

Yeah, but there are guys posting on the fpgaminer thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=9047.0 who are using the big Xilinx Kintex-7 chips , I just wondered if they had had any insight to the feasability of scrypt with only this much onboard ram.

Whoa, I didn't even know about that thread. The last I heard was from the people looking to crowd-source ASIC's/FPGA's. Thanks for the heads-up!

I feel sorry for you, there's so much scam out there... Watch out, everyone!!

You are correct!!!!

I came here for help, have been called stupid, an idiot, douche, etc. and as soon as I got a little bit of nothing, they swooped in. HA! They are fucking up Crypto Currency, and the reputation of the countries where they are scamming from. The $US dollar is the only way to fly, I am sticking to dealing only with USA citizens, and FTW! If you need to be anonymous, you are a crook!

The Illuminati is on it.

Oh, and if I have offended anyone, I am sorry, and by the way, fuck you!

Thank you for your positive contribution to the community.
