The reasons are very simple.

1º Various informations about goverments , regulations, bans and investigations discourage people to invest.

2º Most of the people that are in for crypto ARE ONLY IN FOR PROFIT. They don't care about the project, the team, the app or whatever F.S you want to consider. Noone puts money in for the project. Only of the thought of winning more money than actually invested.

3º big falls are normally due to big sells. The 6th of February we had a massive drop due to point 1 and 2 above. The 6th of this month was the begining of another big fall that has not ended and will go deep. A huge amount of people are losing money now. And fingers crossed (even those of foot) to wait till it goes up. Their thought is not based on anything but faith. Faith will destroy many people in this deep down to hell.

People think that having 5 or 50 ETH actually makes a difference if hold or not. The real FACT, is that investors put billions of dollars in, and whenever they get what supposed they sell no matter what.

HOW MUCH COINS DO YOU THINK ARE IN HANDS OF NORMAL PEOPLE COMPARED TO HOW MUCH IN HANDS OF BIG INVESTORS AND SHARKS (TRADERS)??

if one big shark sells and drops the coin down, other investors will be forced to sell aswell. We are now at that point. The future of ETH and other coins are in hands of probably no more than 100 people.

that is impossible because 99% of the coins outthere are only valuable due to the possibility to exchange them to BTC.

Since BTC requires a heavily expensive hardware to be mined and it's almost impossible to get one, everybody that wants BTC, can mine alt-coins and then trade them to BTC, with a big positive thing: Alt coins with low difficulty mining rate are very desirable for miners, because they get a lot of that coin.

So, can alts grow independent of BTC the big and great answer is NO!!!!!!

Reasons???

1º goverments are applying regulations to crypto, due to the fact that they want to control money. Consider that the moment you put money into crypto, the banks cannot speculate with it, so they are actually losing a huge amount of money. Huge.

2º Cryptocurrency vastly depends on trading. Gambling. Big investors and traders are only looking for money, they actually don't care about the projects. So they buy and sell only looking for profit, thing that totally ruins profit for holders.

3º According to many studies, Cryptocurrency has a very inflated value, because most alt-coins only have value due to how easy it is to trade them to BTC. No projects are actually worth the value of the coin. Not even for BTC. Pure speculation.

4º Ethereum has very little to no projects that we would call "big". Moreover, a fork is coming, PoS and Casper are behind the door, destroying trading and mining that coin, so ETH , the second largest cryptocurrency on the market will be dead the moment this patch is implemented. Only big sharks will get profit (and it's still unknown if it will be any).

5º in two days, ETH has lost 10.000.000.000€ of capitalization. in this year has lost more than 50% of its value from maximum value. Total capitalization of all alt-coins (excluding BTC) have lost more than 50% of value, from 530.000 million $ to no more than 232.000 millions right now.

If you want i have more to crush you with numbers, but hey!! no one gives a F.... about reasons or arguments. People come here, they read what their minds want to hear, and leave smiling.

No, no way. There is no argument or reason to think that is bound to happen.

if we analyse the market right now, every single time Bitcoin drops in value, ETH drops with it. But, whenever Bitcoins goes up in value, ETH does not follow. ETH has been doing badly in the past month.

This are the numbers.

the 6 of February BTC got a value of 4980€. From that point, till now (one month), it has gotten to 9468€ which means an increase of more than 80% in value. nowadays is at 9120€
the 6 of February ETH got a value of 476€ . From that point , till now (one month), it has gotten to 784€  which means and increase of around 45% in value., Nowadays is at 687€

But the thing is, BTC is going up, almost everyday, but ETH is not, is just staying at the same place, winning very little and lossing more when market goes down.

This is actual info. This FACTS, cannot be discussed. ETH is not doing good. And imagine when Casper and PoS will be applied. and advice? don't buy a lot of ETH, or you´ll lose a lot, a damm lot.

ETH is NOT A LONG TERM INVESTMENT.

Once Casper is applied and PoS makes it imposible to mine or trade, ETH will only be valuable for it's smart contracts signs. So the price will be way lower than now. ETH will die with PoS.

The reason IS VERY SIMPLE. ETH is not a long Term investment since once Vitalik applies Casper and PoS , trading will not be possible for ETH. Trading is what actually makes the coin valuable.

Ethereum will never surpass Bitcoin.

Vitalik will apply Casper in the very near future. Trading is what increases the value of the coin. Since with Casper, the coin will not be traded since PoS will not allow coins to stay away from the blockchain, and it will be made impossible to mine due to difficulty bomb, ETH will only get the value of Smart contracts, which today means losing like 80% of it's value

Vitalik has said will not allow people to increase the amount of coins available (the more coins, the less money with PoS revenue profit). So ETH is RIGHT NOW. There is no future for ETH rather than now. In fact, the future of ETH is Vitalik applying Casper.

FOUR FACTS no one here will give you (Since they don't want to help you, just for you to invest and hold for more value and better for them).

1º) by the end of 2017 more than 95.000.000.000 € were invested in ETH. nowadays market capitalization is arround 67.000.000.000 €. Do you still think this is going well for ETH??

2º) By the end of 2017, the total network hashrate of ETH was about 130.000GH/s. Nowadays its 235.000 GH/s, so the number of people mining ETH has almost doubled in just 3 months, which has terrible consecuences.

3º) Linked to the 2º fact, The more people enter ETH, the more difficult it's to get more profit. This is A FACT : When in October 2017 the difficulty reached 3.0, Vitalik applied Byzantium, which implied that block length was reduced from 24s to 15s and from 5 ETH per block to 3.
Today, we are a max hashrate and the difficulty is more than 3,2. So, EVERYBODY IS GETTING LESS ETH by mining. and due to the fact that the miners are in only for direct profit (cause monthly you´ll have to pay the bill), THIS IMPLIES THAT THE MORE MINERS ENTER THIS, THE MORE VOLATILITY OF THE PRICE, so the worst for all.

4º) Vitalik has said that he will not allow ETH to continue generating coins (the more coins the less value at the end) and he will apply Casper with a difficulty Bomb by switching to PoS, which will destroy mining since it will be IMPOSIBLE TO MINE, and on the other hand, probably only people with at least 10 coins will be able to enter. The others (those with very little to no complete coin) will be offered and unknown solution.

since ETH will end up very quickly with Casper and PoS, this is a very short race to an unknown place.

You can support whatever you want it. Once in PoS , the value of the coin (as it will not depend on trading like now) will only depend on real value. Real contracts, real apps, real life. And we all know that is going to bring price down. Way down.

So yes, support it, while you can.

if changing to red is "change" then yes. This year, is gonna be the year when goverments are going to set all regulations towards crypto.

Banks and goverments want to control all your money, and they are determined to not let you get away from them. This regulations are going to discourage people from investing into crypto.

Since BTC is highly related to alt coins, and they are only profitable as far as they can be traded to BTC, if Bitcoin crashes, all alt-coins, and i mean all will crash with it.

If BTC , the most implemented coin cannot survive, nor will survive the others. So if BTC dies, all crypto will die with it.

it will be red the moment goverments begin implementing tax regulations and making it difficult for tax evaders to get away with it.

Cryptocurrency is just viable because it's being used for money laundering and tax evading. Once regulations are applied, cryptocurrency will be left only for technology and not trading (as it is now) so the value of all will collapse.

New it's green. But it's a devalued green since the current price is far from it's maximum so we are actually red. and will continue red because the future seems very black.

you guys are actually talking about ETH as if Vitalik had not said he will apply Casper as soon as possible switching to PoS and destroying miners and trading with the coin.

ETH will be alive for no more than 1 year from now and the price will not go any high. This is why ETH has been for 2 weeks almost in the same price, in the last month it has lost 21% of its value while Bitcoin has gone up by 9%.

my RX 570 nitro+ 8gb 1240mhz core 2250 mem (micron)was doing 31.4mh/s with blockchain drivers. With last adrenaline drivers is doing 31.9 rock solid no errors.

Will have to test more but it seems latest drivers are increasing hash performance. Voltage of this particular card (82.2% asic quality), is an amazing 830mv (will continue trying lower voltages)

Today i received a Sapphire RX 570 nitro+ 8gb with micron memory. In the begining i said....well.....lets see how it goes (i already have one Sapphire RX 580 nitro+ 8gb with micron doing 32.2 with 0 errors rock solid so.....)

after a big big fail for me (i reinstalled Windows 10 on my test bench rig and had not installed ati patcher...... and i was having problems (obviously).

After realising that, modded the card, 1240mhz on the core (83% asic quality) ---> 856mv. Memory 2250mhz (<10errors per hour so incredibly good for that speed).  Result??? guess what....... 31,4mh/s which is actually more than i was getting on my MSI 580 8gb gaming X samsung (they will not do more than 2125mhz on the memory).

I'm brutally amazed of how well Micron memory performs. 100% good memory. 2 out of 2 good micron memory. Coincidence?? Don't think so.

take a look at your memory erros, you should be doing a lot of them.use HWinfo64 to see them. Anything above 10/hour is way too much. load the program and keep it in background for about 10 hours and then see how much you are doing. If you are doing 0 errors, you definetely have a high tiered Hynix.

But something does not match here. My 2 MSI's RX 580 Gaming X 8gb are actually doing 31,25mh/s with 1240 core 2125 memory at 865mv core. Your memory is clocked faster than my cards but actually getting less mh/s. This means your ram timings are very relaxed ones.
Could you post your 2000 strap??
