If you run a NXT node, you are supposed to receive NXTcoins and it is called forging.
You don't understand it. Running a node is not the same as forging. This mistake is maybe the cause of all the miscommunication here?

Forging:
People unlock their account on a simple computer and are chosen to generate a block. You will receive the fees of that block in your account.
Forging is free, just turn your computer on. AND UNLOCK ACCOUNT

Running node:
Nodes are servers which will help stabilize and secure the network. You don't earn fees of blocks.
Running a node is running a dedicated server and can cost money.

Nodecoin is ASSET!!! Don't mix with coin/project/whatever.

Nodasset!    Cheesy

Yes Smiley From now everybody should use nodasset instead of nodecoin, so there will be less misunderstandings in debates. Now I see one talks about wheels, while other talks about shoes. Smiley

Can somebody explain to me, how asset "nodecoin" will harm NXT? If it would have name "nodeasset", so maybe problem is gone? If follow this logic, then every asset in AE (boobs, pens, etc.) will harm NXT. So we need to shutdown AE? Maybe I'm dumb and don't understand that nodecoin is not one of the 1000 assets in AE?

Guys, calm down. Where is the warranty, that some James II will not create nodecoin II? Who will stop this? James had an idea, he worked on it, we see it works in AE, so let things happen. Time and market will show, it was good idea or bad. It cost nothing today to make a xxxcoin as asset (ok James, time is money and you work is money). These last days i see a lot of killing of new ideas, that's worry me the most. We are decentralized (I think), source is open, everybody is free to do what they think they can do good. Don;t kill motivation and initiative and move on.

That's my 2 NXT. Sorry for english.

I don't earn any test nodecoins on my standalone NxtWallet. Did it change something?

Could you prove your fairy tale in testnet with testnxt?
911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: March 12, 2014, 05:35:54 PM
People have been complaining about their little nxts are not forging anything. Nodecoin was to incentivize those complainers/miners to run their nxt nodes. I'm just wondering
if receiving something called nodecoins is enough to keep everyone who complained forging?

Anyway, yes lets move on. Nodecoins are here and lets hope it does as intended. Great work James

Just to inform, I'm not against it and support James work. Maybe I didn't see the whole picture of nodecoin.

I don't think I can buy bottle of wine for my girlfriend with your asset "boobs"  Grin

But you get boobs with a bottle of wine!

This is the short term happiness Smiley Later on I will have to sell boobs at any price, if I plan to have long term happiness Smiley

Think of it this way: Buy running a node and supporting the Nxt network, you get social credits in the Nxt community because you are part of the support for Nxt. Hence node coins are only valuable within the Nxt community. When Nxt is rising in value (Nxt community getting bigger), your node coins are worth more because you support a bigger Nxt community which uses the Nxt network.

Obviously, the Nxt community sees value in many people supporting the network. Therefore node coin has a value.

Now use node coin as a tipping coin and Nxt is the king.

OK. But who will by nodecoin for NXT/BTC/other and why? Where to spend nodecoin in real world?

EDIT: Nothing against the idea of nodecoin, but don't understand the whole vision of it. What is the difference between asset "nodecoin" and asset "boobs"?

Boobs hasnt shown us yet what it can do, besides look good.

I have faith that my asset has place a place in the heart of every man  Wink

Yeah, it's fun. Buy if I buy your asset "boobs", I don't think I can buy bottle of wine for my girlfriend with your asset "boobs"  Grin

nodecoin is an ASSET on the AE. Its current price is .01NXT

Get 100 nodecoins and sell for 1NXT. It is a free market, it can go either way and will go up when businesses NEED more servers, they will pay more.

I have 340k NXT forging, and in the past 3 months I have earned like 140NXT, including one block that paid 100. yet with nodecoin I've earned 52nodecoin in 2 hours.
Thats 26/hr.
Thats 6.5NXT a DAY at the current rate.
90 days would have been 585 NXT.
FOR NOTHING but PoW

From my CPU running 1%. I will set up my uDroid for this tonight if time permits.

Who will buy them and for what reason?

that goes for every single other alt coin.. yet they have value..

Partly I agree, but all these altcoins are only for speculation. IMO. It is good for short term, not good for long term. So I wrote, ahet I don't see long term vision of nodecoin or I've missed something.

New feature:

Just click on your account ID in the sidebar and it gets copied to your clipboard.

Wesleyh, what is purpose of registering new account? When I ran your windows standalone first time, I simply entered my new secretphrase in the field and it created an account.
