Might sound a bit stupid but wasn't aware that merge mining works like this. I thought that hashrate would be divided through all the mined coins. Then I like merge mining much more.

Its what people initially think when they join merge mining. The solutions that the miner comes up with for the math is checked against the alts. There is no loss or division of hashing power, just extra bonus. If you want to check into it more, your looking at auxpow merge mining (which is the algorithm/mechanics behind the merge mining at mergemining.com, and for most sha256d or scrypt merge mineable coins) ... To be honest, if it was split between different coins, I think everybody would just stay on the highest paying coin and never merge mine.

I do not like the merged mining thing. Only want to mine some CROWNs. Maybe a nice community member could set up a pool?

I don't get the anger towards merge mining .. You can mine 1 coin at your hashrate, or mine that one coin at your hashrate and include other coins... Seems frivolous to mine only one and throw extra funds out.

Mergedmining is this your pool? 600 th s?

Both my test setup as well as mergemining are on proper fork (from the discussion here and verified by tx and txid to c-cex) .. Anything I can do to help smooth out this fork?

C-Cex is on the correct chain.

https://mergemining.com is verified to be on correct chain as well.

When you update please add auxminingaddr=<MININGADDRESSHERE> to your crown.conf and if you could post that address it would be greatly appreciated. We would like to figure out the block distribution for as many pools as possible.
auxminingaddr=1FHTZYz7M9SwEw1122CzH4GvGj6s8bPLhU

So far, all my tests came out good, https://mergemining.com is running latest CRW daemon now.

As a side note, I'm willing a lot of people on linux are going to get bit with the name change. Daemon name changed from crowncoind to crownd ... Don't forget to update your scripts Wink

- Can all pools be so kind to provide us with their address used to mine, we'd like to use the info to create statistics.

Testing personal node prior to updating pool (will update within 24 hours most likely).

I would like to say that in the next 24 hours, but I can be wrong.

Cool, I'll keep watching the thread then Smiley

You guys need a countdown until next release Smiley Any idea on when that will occur? I have a mining pool to update as well as wallets for when this occurs and don't want to drop the ball on it. Thanks!
910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Terracoin 1.0 (TRC) on: January 19, 2017, 05:09:19 PM
We also will need to decide if we should prioritize getting an Android wallet up and running first.  I know Ahmed is willing to do this for 1 BTC.

https://coinomi.com/

Maybe ask the developers for inclusion of TRC? I've tinkered with it a bit for a few coins and seems reliable (so far, but we all know how that can end)
911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Terracoin 1.0 (TRC) on: January 16, 2017, 11:00:34 PM

Just passing through, guys: Unobtanium shows UNO-TRC volume, so I'm checking your ANN thread. Why wouldn't a community want its coin listed on Yobit? Ummmm . . . because Yobit is unscrupulous?

Agreed. I have seen them take down a coin daemon and then demand payment for the daemon to be brought up to date (no update to the coin daemon during this time). If you are listing on yobit, expect to pay and keep paying for that choice.

If I was to choose between helping this project with the development and injecting a dirty syringle into ur ass I would go with the latter since u dont like when someone else takes the lead.

EDIT: Just edited this post coz u probably dont know what InstantSent is and will be unable to comment on it. U guys are too dumb to be connected to crypto.

913  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: January 12, 2017, 05:42:57 PM
When using "--merged" with ANY secondary coin, does it matter if the underlying coin has any coding to allow merged mining?  Does the secondary coin have to be designed to permit merged mining? or does P2pool circumvent such requirements?

Secondary coin MUST support auxpow.. No auxpow support, its not able to be merge mined with p2pool.

Thoughts on getting CRW on the voting list?

What can it bring us? Not sure what coinpayments is used for.  Huh But if it has any use for Crown, then sure  Smiley

My understanding is that it is a payment gateway (but in all honesty, I haven't had the time to look into it)... It would make it so that CRW can be used to purchase items online.
915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: January 11, 2017, 05:35:54 PM
An off topic post here. Thought I would mention to various coins that mergemining.com has included them in the pool groupings for auxpow. Not sure how many pools there are. May or may not be welcome news. Hopefully welcome. Smiley
That's great

Are any exchanges still trading the Devcoin?  It appears that Bter has delisted Devcoin.
I don't think it has been delisted
https://bter.com/trade/dvc_ltc

Look near the top of that page ... "DVC-LTC is delisted"

Just fixed a bug on throne monitor where some thrones / addresses weren't being updated. Should be working now.

Big thanks to SixOfFive for pointing it out  Wink

No problem, glad I helped Smiley
918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Terracoin 1.0 (TRC) on: December 21, 2016, 01:25:55 AM
Smiley I meant someone liquidating it from Cryptsy's dead wallet since their wallets have been put in some sort of financial overwatch.

My bad, I thought you meant exchanges to get listed on, I should pay more attention to the posts.

EDIT: TBH, I didn't know BTC-E had TRC on the exchange at one point.
919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Terracoin 1.0 (TRC) on: December 21, 2016, 01:08:18 AM
Maybe Cryptsy?  BTC-E?  One of the other majors holders from in the old days?  I can't wait until we have to eat through that wall!

Cryptsy? You might want to update yourself with what happened there lol
920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: December 16, 2016, 10:47:17 PM
We have MM mining with p2pool PPLNS (Same algo as p2pool does for payouts for bitcoin) for alt-coin payouts as well. Hourly payouts are setup on mergemining.com .. The site is still in development, but UNO is one we have included already.

Tips and hints are also welcome ofc (PM me or file support ticket to reach all admins)

(Yeah, kind of a shameless plug, but we also encourage feedback to make the setup better.)

this the pool ?

P2Pool is a decentralized pool that works by creating a P2P network of miner nodes. These nodes work on a chain of shares similar to Bitcoin's blockchain. Each node works on a block that includes payouts to the previous shares' owners and the node itself. There is no central point of failure, making it DoS resistant.

Yes, however, we have expanded on it heavily. On mergemining.com there are 4 pools load balanced that all merge mine the alt-coins into user accounts and there is an automated setup which withdraws coins to users specified wallets every hour. P2Pool itself, supports merge mining, but doesn't support payouts to other accounts (default payout account is p2pool for alt coins and your BTC address for bitcoin payment).

The decentralized aspect, means that other users mining on the p2pool sharechain network contribute to the chance of a block occuring for BTC. If you mine p2pool outside of our setup, there is no alt-coins generated (except if that pool has setup merge mined coins, and then its up to that site to distribute them to you).

Currently we primarily mine BTC and merge mine CRW, DVC, HUC, I0C, XMY, NMC, SYS, UNO, TRC and ARG... We are waiting on EMC to implement merge mining and it will be added to the pool as well.

We did away with some of the decentralized aspect however in order to deal with the alts. Mining to a BTC address is supported on our pool, however, no alt-coins will be payed out for those accounts at this time. This is to increase the centralized aspect slightly and to encourage our sharechain remains more active on the p2pool network (as opposed to a sharechain for a single BTC address). This ultimately should lead to more payouts for users mining on our pool for BTC than the decentralized aspect (If you do not mine on p2pool for a day and a half, even if a block is found you risk not getting paid for it). With our setup, as long as you have mined within 3 days prior to a block being found, you will get a PPLNS payout from it, and the alts payout much more frequently (lower diff, quicker blocks of course). p2pool shares fall off the network around 3 days, so we have factored that into the alt payouts as well, and its based on PPLNS over the last 3 days.

The only drawback I have found with p2pool is there is generally a higher doa. This only affects main sharechain inclusion, and has no effect on alt-coin blocks being found (doa shares are checked against the alts)
