Yep I think about the same but they will sell it right before the halving to maximize the price they can get for them.

Well, I'm not even contemplating purchasing new equipment until after the halving.  Mainly because we have no idea what the price of BTC will be and what the difficulty will be.  Anyone else who wants to pay what may possibly be a premium just before halving based on the current difficulty and price of BTC at that time can do so if they want to gamble.  Buying the batch 1 S7 when I did at $0.10 power costs did not break even until I sold them on eBay.  It wasn't worth my while with my power costs.  That's why I'm waiting to see what the price of the S9 will be and only purchase if it is a fair price to justify moving to an area of the country with $0.03 per kWh.

Aren't the coupons useless with all the S7 sold out ?

I have 79 coupons remaining myself.  They are good until May 11, 2016

But you can't buy any more S7 because its sold out.

Correct.

But I don't want to buy more S7's.  The price never came down enough for me to even consider it; even with coupons.

EDIT:  I had $80K I was wanting to use towards S7's but they never came down on the price to my liking.  I ended up buying bitcoin on the exchange instead back when it was $365.  That wasn't very long ago.

It's probably true, look at the huge jump in difficulty recently. We're looking at 8% next.

I'm beginning to believe there is a next gen rig out now for the same reason.

If they do in fact have a next gen rig in operation now, do not expect it to be available to the masses until AFTER the halving.  It's only logical they will take advantage of the gains to be made between now and the halving with a next gen rig.  I would if I were in their shoes.

Hey good luck out there, and most important, have a lot of fun.

Thx.  Much appreciated!

No worries if this post needs to be taken down.  I just thought I would let pool members know I have plenty of S7 coupons to donate [FREE] if anyone is in need.  It looks like I will not be using them.

I'm heading down to New Orleans [http://www.wsop.com/tourney/tourneydetails.asp?groupID=1211] for 12 days to play several WSOP Circuit tourneys (Texas No Limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Omaha).  I'm leaving on Wednesday, May 11.  So, if you need coupons, you need to speak NOW.  I have 79 coupons remaining.  The coupons expire on Wednesday, May 11.

CG drawing is a very different creature.
My ones are done by first doing the outline (vectoring) of the objects then colouring and shading and touching up and adding effects ... in graphic layers.
... and you can cheat ... undo Cheesy

Though, that's not all that different in concept to how one would normally draw a picture, work out scales with basic curves and lines and then go into details.
But vectoring it on a computer is indeed very different.
I do have a graphics tablet but only once ever tried to use it.
The mouse wins for me.

But whatever you find easiest is of course best - vector drawing like I've done is so different that it takes quite a while to work out how to do it.

I did about one of those pics per week for a couple of years and got better as time went on.
Here's a simple one - this is where I 'extracted' the green eye from for the top left on the web site.
I liked drawing anime eyes Smiley

The basics of how I start is like this:
http://kano-kun.net/a/Aki-chanCh5Pg122-Lines.jpg
Vectored over an original (usually crappy scan quality due to the low quality of some manga paper) B&W manga image.

Thank you for taking the time to provide the insight with links and examples, Kano.  Much appreciated!!!

I have looked into it a bit more and decided the Apple Pencil with iPad Pro and an App called "ProCreate" is the way to go for me personally.

Videos of Manga art with iPad Pro and ProCreate:

I will probably get the Apple pencil with Apps for the iPad Pro Friday or Saturday.

Well ... I'm ok with CG Smiley
But I never seem to have much spare time.
... I spent a few years running a manga vector group ... mine were quite average though.
Hmm I'll link one Smiley http://kano-kun.net/a/ok/Chao150p16V4.png

Damn good job, Kano!  How many hours did it take you?  I'll be patient for your answer.  I know you're busy with payouts.

Maybe one of us creative lot could design a "Come to Kano.is - Block parties every week!" - signature banner.

All kano.is members can use this signature, since many of us also roam around many threads in Bitcointalk.org.

I certainly like that.  It's a great idea!  I am an artist but I wish I knew how to create a signature banner for use in these forums.  My art is done with paint, charcoal, etc...  I have never done art on a computer.  I will be happy to use the signature here on bitcointalk.org if someone were to create one and provide it to others to use here in the forums.

EDIT:  Here is a drawing I've worked on to practice with hair.  Plenty of hair in this photo I'm drawing.  Her name is Joan Osborne.  It will look just like her when I'm finished with it.  http://imgur.com/l3qm8Y7

What program can I use [Anyone] to create a signature banner for us to use?  Are the tools for creating a signature banner built within bitcointalk.org or is it better to use a particular graphic design program to upload to bitcointalk?  If so, what graphic design program does someone recommend for my Mac?  I do have the 12.9 inch iPad Pro as well.  I suppose I could buy the pen for it ($100.00 USD) to draw something on a graphic design program made for the iPad Pro.  I would not use it without the approval of Kano and CK of course.

i have my s7 already aim at it and seams to be mining fine Sad

Hi Chickenfeed,

I'll start by saying your username is definitely suitable for this pool since most here are addicted to "chicken."   Cheesy

As for receiving an email confirmation after creating an account, I'm not sure.  I created an account in 2014.  I cannot remember if their is an email confirmation or not.  Maybe someone else can help you with this.  Kano, may be able to assist you.

Welcome to the pool.

CK and Kano do not have to lower their fees to get people to move here.  Think about it...

How will the one's you want to move here KNOW the fees are lowered UNLESS someone gets the word out AND those people happen to navigate to a website giving them the words to get them to move?

Plenty will move here based on current stats and fees without lowering fees IF people will take the time to get the word out like myself, Phil, and MANY others have done in the past.  Phil, created a couple of threads on the subject of moving.  I sent out approximately 150 PM's to different users on bitcointalk.org to get people to move here.  I'm quite certain several others have done the same.

The problem is getting people to move whom we cannot reach because they never navigate to bitcointalk.org or spend much time on any other websites with the news about CKPool.

Kano and CK should NOT lower their fee.  What they have set up now is better than any other pool and very fair.

IMO Bitmain will not sell a miner with a drastically different design than the S7.  I don't think we will ever see another even series.

Will the S9 ship before the SP50?

I'm like you...  I believe BITMAIN has found the closure they want for future rigs (the current S7 closure) and will design future rigs for that closure.  Keeping the same closure will also make shipping cheaper for those who have the S7 boards and will want to upgrade to the S9 boards.  Especially, once the S7 boards are barely or no longer profitable [depending on your power cost and difficulty].

As for WHEN they come out with a new rig and whether or not it has the next generation chips (16nm), it's anyone's guess.  I personally do not believe we see a 16nm rig by BITMAIN until September or October.
918  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: March 28, 2016, 01:43:31 AM
in the other thread it was April!

tomorrow it will be February!

Engineering chips are going to integrators already in February. So for a skilled and fast integrator I would say late march is possible. April is 100%.

late march isnt happening is it?

so april then? but no price or specs or anything yet?

or should i just load up on cheap s7 and forget this?

may be your best best, but don't count BMT to not have a trick up their sleeve before or close to halving   (0.1 chips)

That's what I'm thinking as well.  It's just too damn risky.  I can see if you already have cheap power costs at $0.06 or less with little or no rent at all to pay and you already have the PSU's, PDU's and PCI-e cords with breakout boards.  However, I would plan on selling them to people on eBay who are ignorant of a block halving approaching by the end of May or early June.

If you think about it, eBay will be inundated with S7's beginning in May.  That's going to drive the price of them down tremendously.  They may go as little as $300 each in May or June on eBay.  I honestly think you stand a better chance of making more money buying bitcoin at current price and sell it close to the right time on a potential pump and dump.  You can make 30 to 80 percent on your bitcoin purchase with less stress of paying for power, rent, peripherals, etc... that go along with purchasing more S7's.

That's my two cents...

EDIT:  If Bitmain had them up for sale at $380 each after coupon, I think they would have better luck.
919  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: March 26, 2016, 03:39:21 AM
I think Bitfury is busy with ETH mining instead of releasing their new chip.

bitmain is doing to bitfury the same what they did to Spondoolies: price dumping to drive a competitor out of the market, then jack up the price on their own next gen as they did with S7.

I believe you're right.  I can get a ton of S7's right now with coupons at $482 each + shipping.  It's tempting, for sure but other things are holding me back from pulling the trigger.  I would hate to spend $80K on S7's, only to have next generation come out within two months and end up regretting my purchase.

My gut is telling me to keep my bitcoin and be prepared to dump close to the right time when the potential pump and dump arrives soon.  Then buy back in at a good price after the dump to accumulate more bitcoin.  I think I would be better off increasing my bitcoin wallet by potentially 30 to 80 percent than to buy rigs at the moment.

What do you guys think?

after a while these new workers appeared the pwd also changed now I'm able to connect to miner but cant access it,
Someone hack into your machine and change the password and point workers toward their own account maybe?

If you haven't done a factory reset yet, now is the time.  This has happened to me a couple of times with miners that still had factory password.  After you reset to factory settings, reset you administrator password and it will not happen again.
