901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin transactions - Slow OR Fast on: November 14, 2016, 02:29:50 PM
Getting really slower as time goes by. I hope this can be changed. Paid some amount to make it faster. That is the only way for now.

I think paying excessive fees for faster transaction is not a cool idea because we are not actually finding a solution for it but we are just postponing this issue of late confirmation.
I am not sure if anything like this is possible or not but how about making some internal mechanism (for example on blockchain) for faster transactions? One having blockchain wallet would be able to send quick payment to another blockchain wallet holder but to others it will take usual time (the time we are facing right now).

Unfortunatelly I think that high fees are where we are heading at the moment.
More transactions are made and those with high fees are preferred, that's natural.
My hopes are still that a change of block size would be a solution for this problem.
902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin was made illegal by your government would you still use it? on: November 13, 2016, 05:53:34 PM
I still make my own choices.
If a government would declare posession of btc to be illegal, that would mean that I had to face some consequences if the authorities knew about my coins.
But it would not mean I would give my crypto stuff away. I don't do everything othere people want me to do, but of course I have to live with the consequences that produces.
903  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the sudden crash now? on: November 13, 2016, 05:48:18 PM
I think that today was a normal movement of bitcoin price.
Bitcoin went down a little, now it's getting back up a little, I see nothing special in that.
It's still bitcoin we are talking about here. Those fluctuations are in its nature.
Besides, it's weekend.
904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If no one spends bitcoin what might happen? on: November 13, 2016, 02:40:19 PM
If people stop spending bitcoin then the interest of people is dropping and not anymore to even heard about bitcoin.

If usability of bitcoin is dropped then it means that the bitcoin price will drop too, businesses will move to another currency etc.

I'm afraid that people will move their funds on another currency like litecoin or ethereum which has take traders attention.

Bitcoin really needs to be used as payment.
The bitcoin payment processing industry is the most important thing that has helped bitcoin to become what it is at the moment.
It connects bitcoin to the economy, no other crypto coin can deliver that.
If that would be removed, we would have a useless low priced altcoin instead.
905  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 13, 2016, 02:34:50 PM
At the moment I do not worry at all. Even if bitcoin would really reach back to 600$.
My stock portfolio moved it's price about 25% the last week, and I have much more in there than i have in btc.
The price still behaves in normal paths.
906  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Paypal a scam? on: November 13, 2016, 02:30:27 PM
I've been using paypal now for about 15 years and never had a problem with them.
In contrary. Every time I had a problem with a delivery they helped me out.
I got my money back each time when there was an issue with a seller that could not be solved with a normal conversation.
So no, paypal is doing a good job, it's not scam.
907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese miners rejecting transactions originating in the US on: November 13, 2016, 02:22:14 PM
A chinese miner is not the chinese government.
I think a chinese miner will still do what's best for his income, and that would be to mine new blocks, no matter where the transactions stored in it originates.
If the chinese government would really want to make some kind of payback against import restrictions from the US under trump, I think they would have way bigger opportunities than to intervene into bitcoin.
Imagine Trumps face when he reads that China wants to ban bitcoin transactions originating in US. Maybe he would even ask "What's a bitcoin??".
908  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: November 13, 2016, 08:43:21 AM
I think that investing money is very similar to saving money.
In both cases you take a part of the money you would normally spend and put it in a place where you will not touch it.
The difference is that with an investment you put the focus on increasing your money (knowing that you can end up declining your fortune as well), while saving means to protect what you have.
It's always a question of personal taste what you prefer.
I think that there are good arguements for both, if bitcoin can be considered as an investment or a form of saving.
909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin 20 Years From Now on: November 13, 2016, 08:20:49 AM
Of course nobody can forsee the future.
But I see that bitcoin has a few weaknesses.
I can imagine that with evolving technology a new generation of cryptocurrencies can come up where those weak spots are eleminated. 20 years is enough time for that.
And under those circumstances I do not think bitcoin will be number one crypto currency anymore.
I would say bitcoin has not reached its maximum yet by far. Maybe in 5 years from now.
But I would be surprised if bitcoin is still a big number in 20 years.
910  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Trump presidency may turn out beneficial for Bitcoin long term on: November 12, 2016, 03:42:43 PM
Among his many campaign promises as a candidate for the US presidency, Donald Trump has also been promising to close the US markets for the Chinese goods, at least partially. That, according to him, will help restore American jobs that he accused China of stealing. If he ever lives up to his promises and actually does something to that tune, it will certainly cause further devaluation of Yuan, the national currency of China. But the Yuan devaluation seems to be one of the primary drivers behind the growth of Bitcoin for the last two years, along with the reward halving.

What are your opinions on the consequences of his economic policy in regard to Bitcoin and its price in the long term?
First all I have doubt if Trump can deliver on his promise as banning Chinese products will gave lots of economic effects.
Second bitcoin is independent of most economic moves and I don't think any such decision will have much influence on bitcoin price
i'm also doubtful whether trump will keep his promise when he's still campaigning himself and make a controversial statement, and now he's becoming USA's president. He will probably forgot what he had said before as easily as deleting his controversial argument from his website
I think that a lot of things Trump said during his campaign won't come, or at least not the way he proclaimed it.
Obamacare for example was labled as a desaster by him and that it should be repealed.
Now he has announced that there are a few parts of Obamacare he likes quiet well.
I'm really not sure where we are heading with him. Especially not in terms of economy.
911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Storing of Bitcoins is against Bitcoin. on: November 12, 2016, 03:25:55 PM
I agree to disagree with your post. You just can't keep storing and you cant just keep spending it. There something known as balance. If all would only sell price would go down as supply would be more than demand and on other hand if every one only stored prices would go up as supply would be low and demand high. But if you go to see its a balance world. People are spending and saving to. So you can't dictate terms and say sell sell or store store. It's a free world and it's better kept that way. What you could instead suggest is to sell when prices are high or for high returns in a project.

In my opinion bitcoin was developed as a way to create and transfer money. For everybody.
I don't think that it was intended to be a form of investment.
So in general I would be happy if people used it as payment whenever possible.
I think it's the fact that companies accept bitcoin as a payment why bitcoin is the most important crypto currency. And I would like it to stay that way for a while.
912  Economy / Economics / Re: The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: November 12, 2016, 07:56:35 AM
Bitcoin will reach $1000 when the time is right. If you don't have the patience and understanding of how the current market works, then you're at the wrong place.
Yes, bitcoin will reach miracle price levels but the answer of the question of when is only at the right times, we do not have any other options other than waiting patiently for that miracle to happen. Maybe we are having the option to earn more bitcoins so that we could achieve our dream of richness in quick time.

Buying and holding bitcoins to get rich, I think these times are over.
I can imagine bitcoin to reach a level of a few thousand dollars, but nothing more.
It would need a lot of dollars today to buy bitcoins in an amount where it would make people rich once bitcoin has reached that level.
And it won't go up that quick, so the dollars invested can't be touched, otherwise the investment plan is over.
I think somebody who can buy enough bitcoins now most likely is already rich.
913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to talk about BTC for friend or Family ?? Have a problem for understand this on: November 12, 2016, 07:49:48 AM
I think that some people just don't want to hear about bitcoin.
They are satisfight with the way they handle money right now and do not want to make things any more difficult for them than really necessary.
If you have such a person in front of you, I think then it's a waste of time to tell him about crypto because it will only bore him.
Better use the conversation then for something both sides are interested in and save the convincing work for somebody where you recognize at least a little basic interest in crypto.
914  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why should "migrants" integrate? on: November 11, 2016, 08:58:15 PM
The main reason why people leave a country is because they have problems in the country they live in.
When people go to another country to live there and behave like they still were in their old country, nothing changes for them.
And then migrating makes no sense. If you want change, you have to change yourself as well.
915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting porn sites to accept bitcoin on: November 11, 2016, 08:34:32 PM
Of course every business that accepts bitcoin is good.
But I think that the whole porn industry is already aware of bitcoin and if a site does not offer that payment option, it will have its reasons.
Besides, the porn industry makes every year less profit.
That's because nearly all movies and pictures can be found in the internet for free somewhere.
Instead of putting our efforts in a declining market, we should focus on a growing one.

916  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Closing FaucetBOX on: November 11, 2016, 03:54:10 PM
Paytoshi is closing as well on December 14th.

I think in the micro earnings part of this forum somebody is announcing that he wants to build a new micro payment system.
From all I have read migration from faucetbox to his system should be possible.

917  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining coins save or sell it? on: November 11, 2016, 03:18:54 PM
When you always keep the mined altcoins, you will die one day as the guy with the most altcoins in his wallet.
Honestly, they are mind to make profit and lead a good life. I say if you can sell them, sell them!
Nobody knows if they will rise or fall in price. But you know the point when you make profit.
And as long profit can be made, it's always the right time to sell.
918  Economy / Speculation / Re: rapidly increasing price on: November 11, 2016, 01:51:41 PM
As long as the prices keeps staying above 700$ this is good. The tendency is going up and we all would like to see 800$ at least by the end of the year. Some are going even further saying that the price should reach 1000$very soon.
We'll see what 2017 brings to us.

Year 2017 will be the promising year for bitcoins as bitcoin is growing more and more over a period of time and we have witnessed the same thing in this year as price rise to more then 100% in this year in compare to the last year and if the rally continues then we may see much better and higher price in next year.

At the moment I see the stable level between 705$ and 725$.
Every time the bitcoin went out of that intervall, due to recent rumors or elections, it bounced quickly back into it.
I suppose at the moment that by the end of the year we will see something of 750$, if nothing dramatically changes the game.
919  Economy / Economics / Re: Mexican currency is dropping fast will they use BTC? on: November 11, 2016, 01:45:34 PM
Remember that Mexican Border Wall Trump had promised? And remember that Mexico was supposed to pay for it otherwise remittance payments would be retained?

Will the Mexican peso currency is losing its value on the market.

Will the Mexican population rush to use bitcoin as there currency is failing, or will shaken investors move there recent sell off into a stronger decentralized currency?  Grin

Mexico is not exactly known for their pursuit of technology and new things. they are not a developed country so i wouldn't count on them starting to buy bitcoin just because of their local currency is being devalued!

don't forget that this has already happened with so many different countries and they never started to buy bitcoin!

That's true. Most of the people everywhere in the world (not Mexico alone) are not that tech-savvy to go for Bitcoin all at once. But let's face it, bitcoin infrastructure has become significantly more beginner-friendly in the last couple of years.

I can imagine the people in Mexico want to invest in US dollars.
Sooner or later, if the mexican peso keeps on falling, the government there will make it hard for the people to exchange their currency against dollars.
Then they could use bitcoin as a way to convert pesos into dollars.

920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does a President Trump mean for Bitcoin? on: November 11, 2016, 01:37:17 PM
I can imagine one thing:
Trump says he will deregulate the banking system. That would mean they can work again like before the crises in 2007.
And that will mean as well that they will make a lot of money the coming years. So banks won't see bitcoin as a competition anymore (I'm not sure if they ever really did).
Any rumors spread from their side will vanish. I think it will lead to an even more stable bitcoin.
