Interesting coin. When approx it is going to be PoS only by the way?

CGB will remain a PoW/PoS hybrid. The PoW subsidy will halve until the baseline of .01 CGB per block is reached where it will remain. This will keep holders earning interest while at the same time further securing the block chain via PoW mining and PoS stake mining. An attack on a PoW/PoS hybrid would have to consist of not only control of greater than 50% of hashing power (as with most other coins) but also would require ownership of greater than 50% of the staked coins. The PoS addition essentially means that any potential attacker would have to be a majority owner of CGB as well as the majority miner and thereby the attack would predominantly be against themselves.

One final note regarding Mercury. Although he and I do not see eye to eye at present, the fact remains that his contributions to CGB were enormous and CGB would not be poised for take off without his tireless and dedicated commitment for many months. The community owes him thanks and we will wish him well. Parting is the best thing right now but we will support him as best we can. Godspeed my friend.

It is a sad turn of events. Others here know me and have known me for some time now. I am not a dick and have been with CGB since the start through many ups and downs. I do have a family with a young son, a full time job and another business so my obligations are many. Each story has 2 sides and I will not get involved in a personal back and forth public character attack battle. More important things on the horizon. I am heavily invested in CGB and will continue to work with the community to make it a success. I do know for a fact that it was Mercury dumping the last weeks. He confirmed as much in an email.

We are moving on now and I will no longer discuss Mercury Stills nor MADEsparq.

Hi!
I did not sell and will not sell. And I want to express my support for you. Although my loss is very high. And this crypto was the last hope. Try to make something for my family. But I will not cry. Stay with you

I am terribly sorry and completely feel your pain. I too am a family man and heavily invested. We are assembling an exceptional team and will not be down for long. Thanks for your continued faith and support.

Great to have you on the team! Welcome my friend!!!

It is with great pleasure that I would like to announce the new lead developer of Cryptogenic Bullion, Artiface! Artiface has been active for some time in the CGB community and brings with him an impressive resume as a software engineer. Additional to his undertakings outside of the crypto world, he is the creator of the CGB tipbot currently deployed on Reddit.

This appointment is by no means a step down from the previous developer. Certainly there are some large shoes to fill but I am confident that Artiface is the right individual for this job. Please join me in welcoming Artiface and showing him some love and support! His first order of business is to update checkpoints, handle a long overdue fix between the getbalance and listaccounts showing a discrepancy and to update the splash screen logo with our new Gold theme and new slogan "Earn. Store. Multiply.".

I have another development team addition announcement to make soon and also have extended offers to some of the core community members to also join the team in an official capacity.

Please keep in mind that this is still a community project and the development team works on a volunteer basis for the community and also to add value to their personal stake. If you want to get involved, this is a great time to acquire stake at a discount and join in to help launch Cryptogenic Bullion to the next level!

Is Freetrade the new developer lol?

No he is not, but I will be reaching out to him regarding collaboration Smiley
He is a very talented dev with an innovative approach and ideas.

Great news guys! We have a new lead dev, at least for the interim! I will announce soon. We will be releasing new clients as soon as possible which will include new checkpoints, a bug fix with listaccounts vs getbalance and a new splash screen (gold logo with new slogan "Earn. Store. Multiply").

That truly is great news! While I was somewhat in shock the last few hours with the sudden price crash and the news of merc leaving (I only then read the blog entry), I am now positive that this will all turn out fine.
As Elambert said himself, I am sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle. We all are just humans beings in the end who make mistakes. It is easy for relationships to suffer and break without personal face-to-face conversations, especially when tested by tensions and stress caused by development and such.

Even though I do not agree with the way Merc handled things in the end, I am sad to see him go and hold no grudges. It surely was an emotional act and he probably hurt himself as much as he did CGB and the community. I wish him well on his further journey and with MADEsparq development.

While many of us had high hopes and expectations of what MADEsparq would bring, and these hopes are now shattered, we must not forget that CGB by itself is a solid and mature coin that can very well stand on its own. Where one chapter ends, another begins. This is not the end my friends, it is only an unexpected turn of events. Yes a coin needs a solid dev to take care of it and keep it up-to-date. Yes I am very grateful that Elambert is there as founder, and is taking care of things as best he can. The speed with which he is already announcing a new dev is honestly right near dumbfounding. But in the end we must not forget that this is a community project. As long as we as a community stand behind CGB, believe in it, and do what we can to help, CGB is not going anywhere.

What does not kill us makes us stronger, and CGB is by no means dead! I am very exited to see what the future will bring. Hang on and enjoy the ride!

Ethapus, please reach out to me at cryptogenicbullion@gmail.com. With some new found decision making freedom I am ready to take some steps that I have long been pushing for. One is growing the development team. I have 3 official members that I am looking to announce in short order and want to gauge your interest as well as that of x0rcist and Killiz (you guys please reach out as well). We have a lot of work to do and need a solid team to work together. Thank you for your support!

Also, would everyone please remove the .org website domain from signatures, reddit, etc? We will be building a new website with a new address as soon as possible. In the interim, Reddit is our home.

Any fundamental changes to the coin now that the developer is gone (volume, deflation etc.)?

No fundamental changes, just an overdue fix and refreshing of the splash.

The lead developer has abruptly left the project and sold his stake. Regrouping and rebuilding are in progress.
932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Gold Standard Virtual Precious Metal | CGB on: March 01, 2014, 01:43:49 PM
I just received an email from Mercury stating he has resigned from the CGB development team in order to focus on other projects. My apologies to the community as this was not expected and has caught me unprepared. Good news, I think the dumping should subside now. Bad news, it will take a little time to build the development team. The lead dev position is the immediate concern and will be my focus to resolve as soon as possible. Again, my apologies to the community. We will rebound and be better than before.

Also... can you add my pool to the list of pools on the website?

http://cgb.hasher.ca

Thanks!

I sent a note to Mercury about adding you to the site and the Reddit team to add you there. Thank you for your support!

I emailed mintpal.

Is there anyway to check if someone voted on ecoinfund? I want to know so I can start a giveaway to get people to vote.

Maybe a screen shot before a and after voting?

I feel like that might be a lot of effort for the user, especially since we need ~900 votes and I don't see 900 people flocking in immediately. I'm not putting this off though, I want to CGB onto that exchange.

123 votes, we are second in line to be added! Keep voting guys!

Miffman, how about good old fashioned trust then? I will donate to your giveaway effort. Those that receive will have a vested interest in CGB growth so I think most will be honest. But I am a trusting person by nature.

Hey i want to start voting but i don't see CGB in that list?

This should help:

I'm waiting for my client to redownload the blockchain before I send it to my reddit account. I don't think you should send just yet, we see how things work out at first. I'm thinking to give 0.1CGB per vote. sounds fair?

Sounds good to me!
