921  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Neighbourhood Pool Watch 1: No-one should mine at Bitclockers on: March 01, 2012, 01:01:06 PM
If the tactics bitclockers used is not worth a scammers tag I will very soon take their methods to the lending area.

If it is okay for shares it should be okay for real money too. :/

We have enough of that in the lending section already.....

edit:

It seems to me that only the hoppers are mad because its bad for their system. I can understand that but
I guess the majority of the users have no problem with the "hidden" algorithm they use.

Just to be fair I admit that i have a "thing" for hopping and not a good one. When I first started mining I didn't have a clue
and was even happy when the hoppers  came to "help " on the small pools I used.   When I learned the truth it pissed me off.
Don't want to start another discussion on this since there have been so many already.

Who made you the spokesman, they owe all their miners 21% more than they paid. When they pay that out we can re-evaluate their position. Until then they deserve the "scammer tag" and all should avoid them.

I'm not anybody's spokesman and never even mined there.  All I'm saying is if they were paying 21% less to everybody then nobody would stay there.  They Pools owner admits "not condoning hopping" etc etc.. so they took the law ( or the rules) and did whatever they did. I didn't say even once that it's right - just that it does protect somewhat  the full-time miners from the hopping. If the Pool owners ever come clean with the info we shall see.

It's been empirically shown that they have been lying and faking stats, the current analysis implicates them as having shorted ALL their miners (full time) at least 21%. This thread is not about hopping, it's about their lying and stealing from their miners and using hopping "prevention" as an excuse.

If you never mined there, why get involved in the conversation unless you have an alternative motive and/or are trying to promote your own individual agenda.

People continued to mine there because they started as legitimate pool, then they degraded to cheating their miners. Even now they are trying to rehabilitate their stats and information because they were CAUGHT. Their lack of significant response in IRC or in the forums indicates (in my opinion) their hope it will "blow over" and they can continue.

This is the problem with having "pools" and "exchanges" being unverified. People who mined at bitclockers will probably never get the funds that they were cheated/shortchanged. Yet there is no process to hold them accountable.

The principles of Bitclockers should go to jail for fraud, that will not happen at this point in time,  yet until the bitcoin community starts to enforce penalties against this cheating, or set standards, we will be looked upon as an amateur.

If we look at how exchanges now want us (miners) to ID ourselves, why should we not expect the same of exchanges and pools. Who are they? Should they be registered as a business, should they post a bond against fraud. Should there be some oversight council. We need to police ourselves before it is imposed on us by those who have no clue.

923  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LinuxCoin A lightweight Debian based OS with everything ready to go. on: February 24, 2012, 11:43:30 PM
so is this going to get some updates and/or support?

This OS is haunted as far as i am concerned. i can sometimes load it with ease and other times can't get past a blank screen with an underscore in the upper left hand corner.

I got a rig working today, had to add some fans and then went to reboot and nothing. Plenty of PSU power, etc. just wouldn't work.

i can't even get f'in BAMT to load so f that. i get to the boot screen and then a bunch of shit passes the screen and then black screen. Easy my ass. linuxcoin loaded easier for me the first time I used it.

Maybe BAMT is easy once it boots, but nothing is easy when it won't boot. I also see it's a little bitch with certain hardware. that just sucks, should work with everything.

people can bitch about windows, but at least it works.

If it works on some and not others, maybe you should fix the rigs that don't work - right after you fix your attitude!

Damn, that is crazy!  One of my friends is trying to RMA a card right now and Sapphire won't even answer their phones.

Fortunately, none of my cards are Sapphires...  the 6870's are XFX, the 6750's and the 5770's are HIS, and the 7970's are Diamonds.  I have no experience with Diamond but that was the only brand available, damn they all sold out quick...  I had a pair of XFX 7970's in my shopping cart that someone else bought out from under me while I was logging in Sad

Any RMA for Sapphire has to go thru their support vendor via e-mail tell him to use RMA@althonmicro.com

Once the forms are filled out and paperwork faxed to them, they are pretty responsive.
925  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: TradeHill - suspension of US wire deposits / withdrawals on: January 11, 2012, 05:53:55 PM
There seems to be an unspoken assumption on this thread that banks won't be failing left and right themselves and therefore struggling to retain customer confidence.

Who is to say the reverse won't happen.  A collapse in the fiat currency banking system that precipitates a flight of wealth into the relative safety and stability of the bitcoin network?

The loss of trust in the bitcoin network is again perpetuated by the way this exchange has handled this situation. Their continuing lack of a substantial response in this message thread (that they started), indicates a blatant disregard to inform their account holders with respect to an updated status.. They have now changed their target date from Yesterday to hopefully by the end of the week.

They have not yet sent out an e-mail to all of the account holders nor have they placed a banner or notification on the account holder's dashboard page or the withdrawal page. It is either complete contempt or an utter disregard of the value they attribute toward the individual account holders.

I sent a support request in regards to this and this is what I received in return:

Hi,
First, thanks for using Tradehill and excuse the delay in responding; it’s not typical.
We’ve temporarily disabled domestic and international wire/checks. The reason can be seen on our blog post here: http://tradehillblog.com/
We anticipate having a new domestic and international check/wire solution by the end of the week.
Until then you can use BitInstant or Paxum.
Thanks again and happy bit-trading.
Regards,
Tradehill

I was really looking forward to being able to access my funds by today, but now they say by the end of the week...

edit:

The blog entry they refer to is identical to the op

They should cover the extra cost to be able to get our money out.

Dear Clients,

We’ve had an issue with our Citibank account and we’ll not be accepting wire or ACH deposits or executing check, wire or ACH withdrawals for a short period of time. All the funds are accounted for and we’ll re-commence operations by Monday or Tuesday next week.

We’ve had an issue or two in the past with banking so we understand the tension this causes for customers and us. However, we’ve always sorted out it. There hasn’t been one incident where transactions weren’t executed properly and accurately once the issue was solved.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send an email to info@tradehill.com.

Thank you very much!

Regards,
The TradeHill Team

I sent an email message inquiring about being able to withdraw funds via check (USD) since I was not notified of a problem in getting my money sent to me nor was there a visible notice when I was logging in.

It would be good business practice to notify your account holders via e-mail immediately when this occurs and in the sign-in banner page or perhaps the DASHBOARD where account holders are able to see their status, instead of inside the normally small obscure blog link in the bottom corner.

Additionally, what start date does this effect transactions? I placed a withdrawal request on 1-1-2012, I have not seen the status updated nor have I received any notification from you, and if the check was processed will it be returned by the bank? Will they not honor your issued check.

One of the important features of your service is the ability to be issued a check for payment.

Will you be re-reimbursing the mandatory fees imposed by your alternative payment methods if used during this period of your inability to send people their money?

Your communication procedures to the account holders is this matter are sub-standard at best.

The minimum acceptable notification should be ON THE MAIN LOG IN PAGE, followed by an e-mail notification sent to all the account holders.

Posting a notice here in the forum is a poor practice, as not everyone uses the forums, nor do they log in everyday.

Please let us Account Holders know what remediation will be done to address these deficiencies,  HERE in the forum, since this is where you apparently wish to conduct your affairs.

My email was sent from r.grey1@gmx.com. Check it, you will see the notification!

Seems to be a problem with your payout system. Please fix it.
932  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [286 GH/s] BitClockers.com - NON-PAYMENT issue - AGAIN on: December 10, 2011, 10:40:29 PM
Again with the NON-PAYMENT issue, then you want people to post it to your forum, which by the way does let people register and then does not accept their logon or reset their passwords (never sends the re-set e-mail)

Then you want us to resubmit the transaction ID so you can manually verify it, which can't be done, since you can't login as per above.

Then you have on your main page to use the IRC #bitclockers. yet no one who administrates the pool shows up to answer questions nor do they give an explanation or a schedule to correct these issues.

Please notify your miners when payouts are working again.

Until then we should ALL mine somewhere else.

Polmine has switched to PPS without notice and applied it retroactive to several blocks without notice. Avoid this pool.

938  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Polemine-Non-payment-bad statistics-mining namecoins & not crediting miners on: November 04, 2011, 12:47:06 AM
Which reward system do they use ? Could this simply be the blocks catching up and the pool still owing miners for shares ?

for 2 weeks? Then it starts showing a neg balance and no payouts in their records. It is the correct address, I have received payments from them before.
939  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Polemine-Non-payment-bad statistics-mining namecoins & not crediting miners on: November 03, 2011, 08:01:43 PM
What's up with polmine - logged in and saw a negative balance. The statistics are borked and they mine NMC without crediting miners

Do you have some proof of this ?  Not doubting your accusation, just would be nice to see it confirmed.

Looking at the miner configuration it has BitCoin-NameCoin, yet there is no place to enter a payout address, additionally, I have been trying to get a payout since last Friday on an outstanding balance and no payment was made, none is show on the payment since Oct 15th, and the balance now displays:
