921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hundreds of thousands trafficked to work as online scammers in SE Asia, says UN on: September 01, 2023, 06:10:05 AM
Well, I had a whole other picture in mind... when it came to these scammers. I saw a group of lazy organized people that came together to scam people.... and sharing the bounty of their spoils.

I watched some Youtube videos of scammers in India and they looked very happy as if they were enjoying what they were doing. So, next time I get one of those calls, I will not swear so much..... noooooot.  Roll Eyes
922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency restrictions in some countries is a blessing in disguise. on: September 01, 2023, 06:00:09 AM
One of the biggest advantages of Bitcoin is unrestricted cross border transfer of wealth, which is good in countries where there are conflict and where people might have to leave their country in emergencies.

You create an online account.... then you scramble your private keys and store it on there....  and once you relocated to another country, you access the site and you sell the coins to start a new life. (Many people get robbed, when they try to cross to other countries by raiders or even the corrupt government officials, so you cannot carry your cash or valuables with you)  Angry
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Glitches still affects online casinos? Or it's the casinos that sucks on: August 31, 2023, 06:31:25 AM
I get this a lot..... you will play for a long time and suddenly an error pops up while you are playing and says... "connection closed due to inactivity" ....image that... while you are playing  Roll Eyes  or it comes up with some "Wallet" error...  Roll Eyes

My conspiracy theory is that the session are terminated by silly errors to prevent the RTP to kick in.... but that is just my own uniformed opinion. (I know each bet are unique... but the RTP are still part of that process)

The code for these games are proprietary, so we will never know what they are doing on their code and on their servers.  Roll Eyes
924  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: August 31, 2023, 06:21:54 AM
The $10 000 000 race must be generating a lot of money for Stake.com to be able to fork out a Pre-monthly / Monthly and a Post-monthly in one month.  Shocked Shocked Shocked  (We know most of this money are going back into Stake's pockets, so it is not actually money that are seen as an expense)

I also tested the RTP after the bonus were paid out and you can actually see that something were switched on to collect those payments. The day before I played several slots and wagered on the originals and I had a good experience with some small wins.... the day of the post monthly all went dead.............. one loooooong losing streak.  Roll Eyes
925  Economy / Economics / Re: Another Coup in Africa: What is the economic effect? on: August 31, 2023, 06:10:12 AM
I work on contract in a lot of African countries and I know how some of them operate. The leaders in the country and their family and friends are making millions from back room deals and large tender kickbacks .....and the rest of the citizens suffer.

The leaders stay in power to protect that privileged life and the wealth and power that come with that. The citizens blame the "West" and "colonization" for this, but they vote for these leaders. (Some elections are rigged and fear and intimidation are used to force people to vote for these leaders)

What would have happened if the "West" did not entered these countries and not provided jobs for millions of people? Would they have had the latest technologies (Cars / cellphones / TVs .....) if the developed countries did not use those raw minerals?

It is sad to see all that suffering and how the citizens are exploited by their own leaders.  Sad
926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will the bitcoiners realize bitcoin is just fiat with enforced tax on: August 31, 2023, 05:58:29 AM
When will the bitcoiners realize bitcoin is just fiat with more steps on a transparent ledger with enforced tax aka network fee. When your nation legalizes it like canada you will pay network fee and tax on top, such wow.

When will Fiat Banking trolls realize that network fees are not taxes, but merely a cheaper transaction fee than what Fiat Banking customers are paying at Banks.

These trolls obviously do not use the Bitcoin Lightning Network, so they do not know what we are talking about. I think the competition are getting desperate and they are paying the trolls to spam Bitcoin forums like this with worthless FUD.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

The Capital gains taxes that are paid are forced by the Fiat supported government, because Banks are crying and bitching with them to protect their money maker. (Banks charge ridiculous tx fees and high interest rates on Fiat financial services... and the governments protect them with taxpayers tax bailouts)  Roll Eyes
927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Machine Learning and Bitcoin on: August 31, 2023, 05:47:59 AM
I think this whole Artificial Intelligence (AI) thing are over hyped and just the new buzz word in the IT industry. People tried to use it to predict financial trading prices and it fails all the time. (Garbage In Garbage Out) ....now scammers are using this to sell AI bots to innocent victims.  Roll Eyes

The same thing happened with "Blockchain" technology.... where businesses felt left out, if they did not have a cutting edge "Blockchain" based project in development.  Roll Eyes

This will blow over soon... and AI will mostly be used to create funny animated characters and profile pictures for social media accounts.  Roll Eyes
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos Should Also Be Prepared For Health Emergencies on: August 30, 2023, 06:03:14 AM
This is happening a lot more than most people think. You have to remember something.... a lot of pensioners are gambling at these brick n mortar casinos and their health are poor. They sit for hours behind a Slot machine or at a gambling table under stressful circumstances and before you know it, something bad happens.

I have seen elderly people going to casinos in wheelchairs with oxygen masks packed in the back, because they are so addicted to gambling that not even their health conditions can keep them away.

I have even seen videos where gamblers urinate on their chair in front of the slots that they are playing..... not wanting to take a break to go to the toilet.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
929  Economy / Gambling / Re: I have solved the problem of complexity in provably fair games on: August 30, 2023, 05:51:44 AM
Hello,

I work as an independent Provably Fair auditor for the Provably Fair Foundation. I'm interested to hear the details of your new system (under strict NDA if you insist), to validate the claims that your system is as revolutionary as you say it is. I have seen many proposed systems in the past, yet most have a fatal flaw of some kind. Truthfully, I find it hard to believe that this system will live up to the expectations of a Provably Fair system, but please PM or email me if you believe it does so I can arrange some form of an audit.

Cheers.

Hey there,
I am only interested to work with casinos. NDA is also very fragile, and I wouldn’t even reveal my idea to the casino under NDA. They could pass it on to a friend business and the other business would say “we discovered it”. It would be a believable story since, as I said earlier, it is a simple process. I would only reveal my process after getting hired as an advisor and after signing a very solid royalty fee contract that binds the casino for any change in their provably fair system that could be related to my idea. Now if they don’t want to implement it (which I know isn’t possible), I would only continue giving my services as an advisor.

This is the only way for the time being. If this doesn’t work, I’ll have to figure out another way. But I am as sure as I can verify Stake games on my JavaScript program that my system is equally provably fair. It’s either provably fair or not. No flaws are allowed of course.

To be honest, you’re also making me even more excited about this. You say you hardly believe this could live up to the expectations. It means you, as a professional in this domain, think the expectations are high. It means my system truly has some potential as I think it is. Because I know the expectations are met in every sense of what I said.

Yes, it is a cut-throat business in the gambling industry and to protect your "idea" is crucial. I shared some of my ideas with some casinos a while ago and heard nothing from them for a few months and then one day, I saw them implementing those ideas as their own. So, I confronted them and they merely said I have no intellectual property rights on ideas that they also had.  Roll Eyes

In any way.... targeting the CEO or marketing team might be the wrong angle of approach, because most of them are not technically inclined.... you have to speak to the developer team and the problem with that is.... once you reveal your "idea" ..they will claim it and they will implement it to get credit from their bosses.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes   (Do everything in writing and record your conversations)
930  Economy / Economics / Re: Is market manipulation a common occurrence everywhere? on: August 30, 2023, 05:38:03 AM
What kind of people are capable of market manipulation?

The kind of people with a lot of money or resources. I once spoke to a mega farmer and he explained to us how he and a group of his friends, manipulate the grain price. They will store grain in massive silos, until the price goes up and when the price is high enough... then he will take the grain to the market and sell at a premium price.  Roll Eyes

Also, take the Gold price..... there are Gold syndicates that are doing the same with the Gold price... just to keep the price stable and constantly increasing over time.

People with a lot of money (Fiat whales) are using the Stock markets as their playing field and they play with portfolio managers that are playing with investors money to manipulate markets.  Angry
931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [JUST IN] Grayscale wins lawsuit against the SEC on: August 30, 2023, 05:27:33 AM
They say, "sometimes you win a battle or two, but you lose the war" and this is very applicable with the SEC. We know how vindictive and biased they can be, just look what happened to the Bankers during the previous financial crisis.  Roll Eyes

This small victory might even make things worst, because they might now have a vendetta against Grayscale for winning this lawsuit and even just for them being taken to court.  Roll Eyes
932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No Electric Supply to Bitcoin Mining Operations in Laos on: August 30, 2023, 05:20:20 AM
There are actually nothing wrong with this, because the government allowed Bitcoin mining operations to use excess electricity that was generated in the rainy days and now the weather have changed and there are no extra energy that can be used for Bitcoin mining.

The government's first priority are to provide electricity for domestic and industrial use and we all know Bitcoin mining takes a lot of electricity, so it is just a good decision to stop it.  Tongue
933  Economy / Economics / Re: BRICS has become eleven countries instead of five. on: August 29, 2023, 06:27:36 AM
I think a lot of people are making too much of the BRICS summit. They clearly said that they wanted to strengthen trade agreements between the member countries and if a "new" currency are developed.... it will merely be used to make transactions easier between these countries.

The "West" has used international payment systems as a political tool to force certain countries to adhere to their commands. (sanctions and blocking SWIFT or VISA payments and even blocking transfers from targeted individuals)

In the meantime ....those countries are going to use their local currencies more to strengthen their own economies and not just the US or the UK ..... or the European currencies.  Roll Eyes
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do the size and frequency of online casino winnings depend on the time of year? on: August 29, 2023, 06:18:18 AM
The outcome of all bets are based on a Client Seed and a Server Seed and also a RNG (Random number Generator) ....so NO, it cannot be based on "time" ....if only those things are involved.

It might be that you are betting on Sport and that more Sport are played during those times or that you are playing and that the casino adjusted the RTP during those times.. for people to win more. (which I seriously doubt)  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
935  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: August 29, 2023, 05:58:16 AM

@BitcoinHunt3r there’s definitely more to this case because sports book earn from gamblers and they would not want to upset them unless they’re doing something that’s raising suspicion and the best way to resolve it is to reach out to the support and offer any proof needed to reverse this limit scenario.

Before limit, all I did is betting on 1.01 odds. For example on other bookies, odd is 1.001/1.002 , I bet on 1.01 at Stake. Even before that I can't bet more than 2-3 000 USD even on top events and sports. That's why I don't trust their screenshots with million betting...

Even now - Plat 3 and I still manage when there are big soccer leagues to get ~30-35 USD weekly and 150-180 monthly.

That is a strategy bound to fail in the long time also. Maybe you got lucky right now, but you only need 1 loss to loose a lot of money (tried it in the past also and had some losses even when it is a « safe bet ». Drake bets sometimes millions of dollar and I don’t think it is being photoshopped.

Yes, I also thought the 1.01 odds bets are safe, until I lost a significant amount on a game that was a major upset. I have a lot of knowledge on that specific Sport and I thought my team would never lose, but it was not their day.... and they were beaten. (Example : The Rugby game between the All Blacks and South Africa .... who would guess that the All Blacks would almost lose with a 50 point difference)

The one big loss destroyed all the profits that I made with all my "safe" bets that I made in the past.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
936  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-08-22] Bitcoin Mining Startup Raises $13 Million to Turn Trash Into BTC on: August 29, 2023, 05:41:52 AM
~snip~
Now burning methane gas to produce electricity, might not be the most environment friendly option, but it is released into the air in any way.. so why should we not use it?

Perhaps because we should not give additional arguments to those who use it to portray Bitcoin as one of the great threats to our environment, no matter how meaningless it is if we take into account the facts from all relevant research. Those who mine BTC of course do it for profit, but I believe that they should always strive to use clean and renewable energy sources, although even these energy sources are not something that does not leave an impact on the environment.

The less oil, methane, coal and similar fuels associated with Bitcoin, the better for all of us in the long run.

If the goal is environmentally friendly mining, everyone should be using nuclear.

As far as this goes, it seems better to be using methane that would just be dumped into the atmosphere to offset some other power source than to just dump it.

Nuclear power might be more environmentally friendly, until something goes wrong..... just look at the Fukushima and the Chernobyl nuclear disasters... to name but a few.

You cannot actually "dump" methane gas... it is released as a natural process from these garbage dumps and it goes into the atmosphere. (like your body produce a fart)  Grin Grin ..... so this company found a way to use this and to generate electricity and then use that electricity to mine bitcoins.  Wink
937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need to understand bitcoin and wallets before investing on: August 29, 2023, 05:31:34 AM
Yes, it is very important for people to do research on everything ....before they invest in it... not just Bitcoin. Let's take a simple example :

There are currently Ponzi schemes doing the rounds, where Bitcoin are used as a payment option. People invest in these Ponzi schemes ..thinking that they are invested in Bitcoin... and when these Ponzi schemes collapse, then they blame Bitcoin.  Roll Eyes

The same thing happens when people sell their bitcoins too early.... they make small profits or a loss.... and they blame Bitcoin for their poor decisions, based on very little market research.   Tongue
938  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Does it make sense to have mobile wallet + desktop wallet from same brand? on: August 28, 2023, 07:07:24 AM
I would personally not do that....

A single hack can basically ruin you, if you have a lot of coins in the "single" wallet. I like to have the majority of my "hoard" in hardware wallets or Paper wallets for long-term storage and then only a small amount of coins on my desktop wallet and my mobile phone.

They cannot take out all my coins in a single hack, because I split the risk into cold storage and then also small amounts on the hot wallets. I am a bit over cautious, so this strategy works for me...  Wink
939  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: New Testnet Faucet (tBTC, tBCH, tLTC, tDOGE, tDGB)! Testnet-Faucet.com! on: August 28, 2023, 07:00:05 AM
Testnet Bitcoin is now active on the faucet!

From what I see the faucet is already dry. This means that you either were too generous, either somebody has already abused your faucet.
Quite sad...
Good points, but what actually happened was the faucet was dry to begin with as I'm trying to mine and get some tBTC for the faucet lol

Currently I have it so you can claim 0.001-0.0125 tBTC/hour when the faucet isn't dry!

I am just curious.... How is this rewarding for you, if you have to spend "resources" to mine these coins? Are you doing this as part of your testing or just as a service to the community or are you funding it from something else? (surely Ads do not cover all your expenses)

In any way, thank you for this service... it is nice to play with... seeing that most other faucets are gone or they give almost nothing at all. The best one that I actually know ..is freebitco.in and it only gives "dust". (something like 50 satoshi)  Roll Eyes
940  Economy / Gambling / Re: Empire.io | Free Payouts, VPN-Friendly, Relaxed KYC & 1 BTC bonus! on: August 28, 2023, 06:53:04 AM
I hope this is not the same strategy that are used by most Crypto gambling sites, where they bait you into joining.. because they have relaxed KYC requirements, but as soon as you win something big.... then they slap you with the full verification process.  Roll Eyes

A lot of the new casinos start out by having "relaxed" KYC requirements, but as soon as they feel that they have acquired enough gamblers.. then they go full KYC.  Tongue
